Spotify Ad Blocker - Blockify

I've been using this extension for a week, and it is completely ineffective for Spotify. While it virtually 'stops' the ads, the player remains stuck at the transition point of the first ad (without a sound), forcing me to refresh the tab every five minutes (when an ad is launched). This persistent glitch entirely defeats the purpose of an adblocker on Spotify.

During the last month or so, after I've watched a YouTube video, Blockify AUTOMATICALLY posts a comment about how great Blockify is IN MY NAME WITHOUT MY CONSENT. I'm going to report Blockify's misconduct to Google and YouTube. GFY Blockify

Misleading name. It's just a normal ad blocker. The name and description suggest it works for spotify, but in reality, it behaves like a "normal" ad blocker and basically tries to work on every possible website.

Broken, after a few songs, the advertisements (usually on the 2nd or 3rd advertisement skip) doesnt progress/skip and therefore requires a refresh of the page. Spotify doesnt save where you last were on the Weekly playlist section so you have to just go into it and play from where you were manually.

Does not work on Brave.

with the amount of "pls rate us" pop ups I get from this extension I might as well just allow ads

something's off today coz nothing is playing after 2nd muted add /edit - stopped working, the last song before ads is playing at the same time the ad shows up and it crashes to play next one.

Comments are being made on YouTube based on your viewing of videos without your permission. After watching the video for a while, I saw sponsored comments promoting their own products, and they all belonged to my channel. I strongly advise against using other programs. I tried to upload screenshots of the comments, but it didn't work. I can report them; please report them!

I'm getting tired of explaining every single time under Chrome extensions reviews why opening random pages is an unacceptably bad idea. And I'm getting tired of devs responding with the same "you can disable it" or "we need money" yatta yatta. I'm done trying to give the benefit of the doubt and engage in back and forth, I'm uninstalling this.

Experienced a very intrusive popup that interrupted my work by forcefully switching my active tab, suggesting I turn on an even more intrusive feature; automatically commenting FOR me, on any YouTube video I accessed, without any mention of how frequent it'd be or at least any clarification for the sake of advertisement; the comments were also very 'spammy' and would've inevitably got me suspended from the platform or even result in the ban of my entire Google account for spam and promotion had I been unwise enough to enable this feature. This popup only happened once or twice, but that does not justify it at all. This feature felt remarkably unsafe, irresponsible, and, as I repeated; intrusive. I am no longer comfortable using this extension if this is what the developers think is acceptable for their users, even if I was not forced to abide by the suggestion. This was also entirely contradictory to the point of the extension. This extension is borderline a benign virus.

just randomly started making comments on Youtube videos without my input or consent , not very cool they say people have enabled it but i think they lack critical thinking, if lots of people are saying they didn't then obviously you accidently set it to on for all users (and apparently they can't read dates of reviews to see when this problem started)

Writing self-promoting comments on youtube videos I watch automatically. Wouldn't have even noticed had I not been to comment section. Doing very good on privacy!

Doesn't work. Once it reaches an ad, It skips your songs too indefinitely, and then it just stops and wont start again. Useless.

it gave me a pop up telling me it blocked millions of ads, I have it disabled "on all websites"

Initially it worked, but then it decided to quit.

It's stopped working entirely. I don't have any other adblocker, and I'm on the right version, so I have no clue what the problem is. Again.

Blocked my songs from playing? Yes, there are no ads, but now i cant listen

Doesn't work in Vivaldi(Chromium based browser), I already stopped ublock origin and inbuilt adblocker, still it can't block audio ads...

Claims to block ads on spotify, but whenever i'm playing games while listening to Spotify, for some reason it plays an ad.

Used to work great, but certain songs on Spotify won't play at all with this extension on, and today it started muting my Spotify tab once it skipped the ads. Had to remove the extension.

Its not working every time an add comes it just stops play and i have to reload the page to be able to play songs again and i have already updated it the the latest version.

No longer working. error-dialog.generic.body even though it is the only adblocker extension. Turning off all extensions except blockify, and even removing them from the browser does not fix the error, suggesting this is due to the March 13th 2025 update.

cant able to remove cup icon from spotify after uninstalling the extension

it only muted the ads it did not get rid of them

NOT WORKING>.. installed and now sportify wont work at all on chrome..

It prevents ads from playing but when an ad would normally play, Spotify gets stuck and I have to refresh the page, just as I would have to do if an ad really had played. App Dev told me the problem was that Chrome wasn't updated, but it's fully updated (Version 131 right now). Removing one star for the useless advice.

Works perfectly on spotify. It blocks multiple other random websites though, so beware of that. For some reason you cant go into some sites and this extension blocks it. Its not open source so i dont know what else it does. Either set it to only make changes on spotify through chrome://extensions or remove this extension.

It works, but heres the thing.. whenever it blocks a ad, it stops and you have to refresh it. pretty annoying... perfer a diffrent ad blocker. and the dev that replied to tahsin taheem i dont even know what that is

Every time an advertisement comes on spotify, it just pauses it and can't unpause it. I have to close spotify and open it again and restart the whole song.
