Doesn't seem to work, at least the rules don't.
What? I am reasonably smart, but I do not understand the instructions at all, and I can't figure out what this is supposed to do for me. What are all those diagrams with lots of red arrows? And what are "Group rules". I don't even know what they are talking about. How to use this is a complete mystery. I could probably figure it out, but without some clue about how it is supposed to be helpful, why would I waste my time on that.
Does not work
dsn't work in opera gx . havn't tried it in chrome tho
Doesn't work in Opera GX
The option "Also apply rules to already grouped tabs" doesn't work at all. Unusable.
For some reason all I see is a small white box. Is there any way to solve this issue?
All white, all i see is nothing but a white box and nothing else. Is this how the extension should work?
Unfortunately, the extension no longer seems to be working. You are able to sort/group tabs but you are unable to restore saved groups anymore. It's a shame, because it's a very nice looking app and if it worked as it's supposed to, would be quite handy.
Didn't find any way to add all tabs of a window into a group.
Doesn't *do* anything. What looks like a way to collapse tabs into a group does nothing, there's no clear instruction on how to select tabs for grouping or create a new group so it's basically pointless.
As of March Fri 11, 2022, extension does not recall saved groups...worked for one day, then stopped. you can click all u like, nothing happens (checked there was no blocking)...possibly google updated chrome and rendered it useless...terrible shame.
While I'm excited about the concept of this tool, it crashes constantly. Every time I try to open a tab group or even a tab from a group, the extension crashes and needs to be reloaded. I'm running on MacOS BigSur 11.5.2 and Chrome version 92.0
Was the extension recently updated?. The tab group names disappeared all of a sudden, making the extension useless since I have to hover over each group to see the name.
The documentation on this plugin is not sufficient. I just hidden a few saved groups and cannot find a way to restore them..
i wanted this to work so badly that i even researched regex script [aka coding] to use in my custom grouping rules. Did this to help optimize personalization + let the extension show off what its capable of. too bad what its capable of is absolutely nothing. troubleshot thing this up and down to no avail. there are other extensions out there that don't offer personalization but they work!! in the end, just make your own group tabs -- its less time consuming, its organized the way you like, no bs extensions. if the developer wants to reach out to me directly to troubleshoot with me, i may reconsider.
best idea so far, multiple keyword/rules not on domain but on page title, just what ive been looking for.. but it is not working at all on my vivaldi browser so 2*, instant 5* if works
If it worked across all open Chrome windows, it be pure 5 stars. Needs, export/import feature too.
Bad behaviours : No drag & drop at all... Obscure "rules"... ... and more annoying : NO sync. between the modified groups and the "snapshot" :-/ -> If you open a group and then, add or delete some tabs in it, the stored group in the extension is NOT sync ! When you close the modified group, you have to manually take a new snapshot (or you loose your modifications !) What's the use ?? Chrome at least, keeps your modifications if you allow "Tab Groups Save" in chrome://flags/ !
Please add an option to disregard PWAs when using auto group.. I use a ton of PWAs so whenever I click links or a page auto forwards it will close the PWA and move the tab into a group in Edge.
Doesn't appear to fully work in Vivaldi or Chromium on a Linux Mint install. You can right click and add tabs to a group, but creating rules doesn't work. The rules never appear to be applied. Something may have changed in the chromium base code cause it seems a number of folks are complaining that grouping isn't working properly - and that is also affecting some competing extension like Acid Tabs.
I misunderstood what this extension was. It says in the description "this extension specifically enhances the browser built-in "Tab Groups" feature", which sound like it works with Chrome's built in tab groups feature, but in fact this seems to be a self contained tab group manager that doesn't have any obvious connection to the existing tab groups. I had hoped it would provide a better way to manage tab groups in Chrome, but I want to manage my *existing* tab groups, not bolt on a completely separate set of unrelated tab groups that don't interact with the built-in tab groups feature. I've rated it 3 stars because it didn't seem fair to give it a really bad rating, I'm sure it's probably fine if you do want to use something different to the built in tab groups, but wanted to flag this up so others who might make the same mistake I did can be warned in advance, to save them wasting time trying to figure out how to make this extension "see" their tab groups. I do think the developer needs to be a little clearer in the description that this has nothing to do with the built in tab groups feature! If I've missed something, and there is in fact a way to make this work with Chrome's tab groups then that needs to be made clearer too!
NICE EXT - NEEDS SORT FUNCTION Nice plugin, but doesn't address the one really big problem with the latest release of Google Tab Groups - not only is there no sorting, but the sort order (in the dropdown list of the Google version) is constantly changing based on usage (and god forbid you sync). Can't say this ext is useless, but it really needs sorting (custom, by name, etc). Saved Groups attempts to provide a history of snapshots, but doesn't link multiple snapshots of the same group - confusing.
It works as described. I am probably a lite user. It does what I need. Would give it 5 stars but there is a nagging group that I've tried to delete a million times and it just won't go away. Not a deal breaker, but terribly annoying
Managed to FIX. This is a Super TOOl. Every One that uses multiple Tabs as in a Trading Scenario will benefit from this. I Only wish that One Could Right Click -- = Sort L-R Alphabetably ....... This would make things easier to find the TAB you want! Please Please Please
does not work with the saved tab groups
Doesn't appear to be a way to save a current window with all it's tabs and groups. I tend to setup multiple groups in a window that are related, and want to be able to easily save and restore these "groups of groups". Currently this extension helps with auto grouping but you need to save every group separately and treat it as a separate entity. Also it seems to focus just on the current window, rather than having a global view - I don't see any way to save and restore all windows and groups in a browsing session. What's here looks good, though, if you can deal with those constraints.
Works great for the most part, but no backups/syncing and some other minor issues weaken its use.
It's great Tabs manage extension. I like this extension so much. 7/10 Thanks dev!. ps. how to excludes. thank you in advance!
Pretty pointless being limited to a single (current) window only. The Chrome's Tab groups suffered this from the very beginning — the tool that's aimed to reduce tab clutter lacks of effective management for itself; you had bunch of tabs, now you have bunch of tabs groups — what a "relief" considering that you even can't have all of them listed in a single place.
Hi, this extension looks great for enhancing Named Tab Groups in and across multiple Chrome Windows. If it could also save an entire Chrome Window's content of multiple Tabs and multiple Tab Groups with one-click, e.g. as a Saved Window using the user pre-configured Window Name, and enable Export/Import of all Saved Windows in one exported file, then you'd have a killer extension! This would resolve issues I've encountered with other extensions that save a Chrome Window's tab content but not the Tab Groups (names and tab content within).
The tabs often escape their group, it very annoying. You click a tab within a group, and it may suddenly jump out of the group and appear to the left of group label. I am looking for an alternative.
Currently not working - Novemebr 30th
So I got as far as importing the tab group config that I exported before I reinstalled Chrome. But I can't open/restore any of the groups from the saved tabs. So I can just look at the groups that I had previously saved, or open each website one at a time, which I'm not going to do. I'm not sure if the merge-type-of-arrow button is meant to do anything, but it does nothing when I click it.
please add setting to prevent creating a new tab group if that domain only has 1 tab after enabling -Automatically group by domain name (it will disable all other rules)
The extension doesn't work on chromium browser.
It is amazing to have pattern matching to auto-organize newly opened tabs, as I am constantly doing while working (e.g. support-issue pages all share a domain but open 1-per-page so I can open dozens at times). I've actually started developing my own work-flow based on this where I drag pages from group to group as they go through a lifecycle of work. However, I gave it 3-stars as there are a few things which this plugin really needs to work more seamlessly. I disable the plugin when I close Chrome for now due to the first one, for example. 1. It applies pattern matching when chrome starts up, which is not what most people will want. I want my tabs to open as they were when I closed Chrome. This will actually pull tabs out of other groups and in to the pattern-matched group, causing some reorganization pain and, in a way, lost work. Perhaps an option to not apply a filter at startup, defaulted to "on", would be good here. 2. There is no ignore filter condition. For example, I want a specific URL to be ignored when pattern-matching. Please add a "not" series of conditions, e.g. "does not include", "is not exactly" 3. Please add a way to restore a saved tab group. Right now I have to click them one by one and each time chrome closes the pop-up menu so it is a lot of clicks. Please add an "open group" button to the saved group menu item that adds all saved pages to the group (creating if needed) in the current window. I would use this as an extra sort of back-up to recover a set of pages quickly and easily. This would be a huge gain for me. These 3 things would take my review to 5-star and then some.
Sometimes Custom Rules don't work. There is no option to group tabs direct in the tab Extension. Google Chrome Version 90.0.4430.85 (Official assembly), (64 bit) But no so bad...)) Good app. Thanks!
