eShieldVN is a lightweight browser extension designed to monitor and report browser tab activity on managed devices. It works together with a locally installed desktop application to help families, schools, and organizations promote safe, responsible, and focused web usage. 🔹 Key Capabilities Detects tab creation, navigation, and URL changes Tracks page titles and active URLs for contextual awareness Supports modern websites and single-page applications (SPA) such as YouTube and learning platforms Communicates securely with a local native application using Chrome Native Messaging Enables policy-based responses, such as closing restricted tabs (when configured by the local controller) 🔹 Intended Use Cases Parental control on family computers Child online safety and screen supervision Focus and productivity monitoring on shared or managed devices Educational environments and self-learning supervision 🔹 Privacy & Data Handling The extension does not collect or transmit data to external servers All data remains local to the user’s device Communication occurs only between the browser and a locally installed application No personal data is sold, shared, or used for advertising 🔹 Transparency This extension operates only when explicitly installed and enabled by the user and requires a companion desktop application to function correctly. Without the local application, the extension remains inactive.
