Okay, this extension used to be much better when it was called CAI Tools. Why? Well, because it opened on the website itself, in a pop-up window, and had the bare minimum of features. Now... it opens in a separate window? Seriously? And why did they add a character search? For what? Overall, I'm extremely dissatisfied with the update. At least bring back the extension settings display on the website itself, as a pop-up window; a separate mini-window doesn't stick around on top of the website.

Harder to manage. I like the older one better. This one is harder to understand and somethings are locked behind a paywall. :(

Good in theory, bad on paper. if you're payawalling the majority of c.ai tools' features behind a paywall of Patreon, why bother using it?? because this is BS. C.AI tools, was ALL I NEEDED. literally just 2 THINGS, COPY BOT AS PNG. OR COPY BOT AS JSON FILE. that's it. Also, where is the logic in baking in ads into an extension that may very well be unskippable?? No good sir I am not giving you 36-60 dollars a year. From the 3 and 5 dollar a month tiers, just for downloading a c.ai chatbot as a png or Json file, which is all i need/use. Update: IT PERMANETLY STOPS THE EXTENSION WORKING AFTER 24 HOURS, AND WHENEVER I GO ONTO A BOT'S PAGE, THE MENU STOPS WORKING, AND I HAVE TO DELETE THE EXTENSION, AND REDOWNLOAD IT, CONSTANTLY, EVERY TIME I WANT TO USE IT, IT BREAKS. Paywall feature to make it so nothing shows up when you click the menu button?? LIKELY. FIX IT PLEASE. Update: As of 3/22/2026, THIS BUG HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AND STILL OCCURS.

I used to use it a lot, but its gone down hill ever since the dev chose to lock most of the external features(fonts, background, import character, ect) behind a membership paywall. AND ON TOP OF THAT ADDING ADDS INTO THE ACTUAL EXTENTION! That should not be okay! PERIOD! It still has it so you can download a character card, and you can still make a private copy, but should I even trust an extension with adds literally baked into it? I'm not willing to chance it. So until this is changed, I can't use or endorse it. Just to make it extremely clear, I don't care about it being paywalled for stuff, thats not what I'm upset about. What I'm upset about is the ADDS. Get rid of those, your already making enough money off the memberships as is! Edited to respond to Larry. Why is that on by default? How can you bake adds into extension window and expect anyone to know how to turn that off with no instructions? We all knew what you were doing, your just upset you were called out on it. I'm not changing my review, as I see that it nothing has really changed at all. Its still very greedy and predatory in my eyes. Just turn off the adds by default. Much peace, much love.

Incredibly useful service, but the dev decided to make backgrounds for characterAI a paid thing. I feel like there are a thousand better ways to implement this rather than pulling a knife on me and demanding $5. Set a limit on the total number of background images that can be stored in the free version, increase the limit in the paid tier, and remove the limit in the maximum tier. Instead of making the entire feature locked behind patreon out of complete nowhere for no adequately justifiable reason. The entire reason I switched to chatbot manager outright instead of using characterai tools was for the backgrounds, which I now cannot use. I understand needing money, developing stuff is thankless work, but I am against the idea of taking a free feature and arbitrarily locking the entire thing behind a paywall. Whether or not it was temporarily free is irrelevant. Heroforge beta tests new features on the premium version and then releases them to the free version, that's a vastly better system than enticing people with free things and then demanding money whenever you think they've had too much fun

You've upset me man, removing background message colors and Big avatars and saving it for pro tier was insane. Those were the only things I liked about this thing!

Used to be good but now everything requires a subscription. Can just one thing on this earth not be a subscription. I'm surprised I can breathe without being charged per minute per breath.

i honestly just used both this and C.AI Tools for the mass swipes. i'd use this one for better memory and the other for responses that didn't make me bored. but then the mass swipes on this one got locked behind a paywall, so i used C.AI Tools. now that extension is DELETED, so now i have to manually swipe 30 times so i don't feel like i missed anything. otherwise i just use this for the fonts, and i cant figure out how to do the mass swipe on the website.

I much more preferred when the avatar sizes were free on the original extension. I don't like how they're pay to win now. I enjoy looking at chatbot profile pictures when I talk to them. I can deal with having the other features locked behind a paywall but if you could make avatar sizes free again that'd be nice for a lot of people.
