Auto High Quality for YouTube™

It only changes resolution when I open the plugin and refresh tab, the next youtube video I click on will be in 360p again.

Stopped working. I've had this installed since Youtube reduced the default quality during the COVID pandemic in 2020. But today I was watching a video and I thought hmm this is low quality, sure enough, it was being shown to me in 720p when a 4K version was available. So I tested it a bit more and yeah it just doesn't work any more and the developer seems to have quietly stopped working on it 8 months ago in 2023. Time to move to a new plugin. It was good while it lasted, but it doesn't work any more.

It's useless. It doesn't make any quality enhancements whatsoever. For example, I want to enhance 1080 videos online to 2160, which is 4K, but the extension will not do this. Yet, if you go on the developer website, they claim you can actually enhance the quality of a video beyond what is shown. I really wish there was a video quality enhancement add-on. There are colour enhancements which make the colour gamut of videos pop out more, but that's about it. Sometimes a video is a little blurry or I want to sharpen the pixels further.

It seems to have stopped working. When it was working it still paused frequently too when YouTube would try to turn down the resolution and the addon would turn it back up so that was annoying but still better than it being a lower resolution I guess

Only really works sporadically now, and when it does, it takes quite a long time to start, and then to reload and start buffering again. So you get a few seconds of sound - in my case, often without the moving picture - and then it stops, blacks out and reloads. When it was first installed, it didn't do this, and I've not installed anything new since that might be clashing. I still had to manually select quality quite frequently, but it didn't do the annoying reloading thing when it did work. Not sure if there's a bug or if a browser update is clashing.

This extension kind of worked for some period of time. However, I don't think it works anymore. When it did work it would not allow you to switch the quality down to a lower quality. This was an issue when a video had a 2160p option: especially when increasing the playback speed the video would stutter. So, when I attempted to lower the quality it would automatically set it back to 2160p.

Good when it worked but seems like it stopped working, version 131 broke it. It defaults to highest quality now and the UI is broken.

Doesn't seem to recognize the new 1080p Premium quality.
