FetchV - Video Downloader for m3u8 & hls

Can't download ".m3u8" extension videos and says that encrypted videos are not supported.

Would work better if it would let me download more than 5 episodes at a time before it tells me "error loading manifest. Also it says " error connecting to internet" when my internet speed is perfect!!!

Was working great but now only SEEMS to work fine. This was set to Autosave and I tried on several different downloads but there is no mp4 saved in the download folder. I then click on manual DL but nothing happens. There is no place to get help so can't use :(

It's not working

All of a sudden it's saying that it needs an update/extension but when you click on the provided link, it takes you the main page and there's no update available.

Chrome blocked the install saying that it contained malware...

Since new update today 24th July'25-, it no longer works after working 5 seconds just prior to that.....how disappointing!!

The app has turned into an ad spamfest. Open the download window and it's populated with four or more ads, interfering with the UI and making the app difficult to use anymore. I understand the need for revenue but the devs have enshittified it beyond recognition. I'll find (or write) an alternative that doesn't abuse the user.

used it alot, but recently cant even download basic films, tried to download a movie for 2+ hours just for it to be unresponsive at the end

When I record a video using the recorder, the video got recorded succesfully but the audio became terrible, like a monster voice. Extention is pretty good btw.

Doesn't work anymore - I click download and all it does is takes me to the authors website asking me to install the extension again - It's already the latest version!

Works ok, but much room for improvement. Unfortunately, trying to provide feedback via their contact form proved to be a waste of time, due not only to a very small character limit, but their failure to indicate such, resulting in a waste of time typing up the issues I have with it and requests for improvement. So I'll use it as an additional method when others fail, but it won't be my primary downloader and I can't give it more than 2* due to the issues it has and the very frustrating "feedback" form (which is *not* really a feedback form the way it's designed, which is a major pet peeve of mine).

Only 2 stars because it does work on downloading selected files but what I am faced with is it does not allow playback. For some reason it saves it to a streaming MP4 and Old style original MP4 and neither are compatible with the playback programs used for the home theater which is not equipped with a PC. The preferred method of video encoding should be MKV quality. Even after trying to convert the MP4 to MKV I get file video errors which leads me to believe that this file even though its MP4 is really HVEC encoded which can't even be played on my 4K screen nor Roku box unless a PC is connected to it and if that is the case then forget this program and just live stream through a PC. The settings are also finnicky and not always straightforward and one must figure out the proper settings to get things to work. Of 100+ video downloads only 4 actually worked properly albeit 2 had to be converted to a different format; for me that is not good odds. Perhaps, the last few updates messed up the program. I'll try a few more attempts but most likely will be removing this and going back to the Universal Custom Player which is not 100% either but at least it does support other video formats.

I have a problem.. when i play a video downloaded by fetchv, it freezes for a second and/ or messed pacing with choppiness at certain times in the video, like it wasnt encoded correctly.. pls try to review and reproduce this problem..

Well how come every time I try to download a TV show I always get the same one no matter what esp I'm trying to download this is so messed up. what am I doing wrong

Doesn't Like VPN's sometimes it works sometimes browser says site not available. Otherwise a very good product.

Does its job well, but after a while the page refreshes, making it lose all of its progress.

I would say that this is an excellent and powerful video downloader if it can download all kinds of video, including those on YouTube. BUT, it can't. Technically, you can't use it to download YouTube video, and sometimes you can only use it to record the video rather than download it.

I would have given this software a 5 star rating but due to FetchV removing support for Firefox browser recently I can't do that now.
