Doesn't work well, doesn't work properly, prevents basic functionality.
The permissions on this thing are insane, sure read/write all data on all websites I visit, fantastic!
RPass symbol populates on ALL text fields which is a huge pain.
How can I disable autofill...for ALL sites? This is a pain for testers/dev that happen to be forced to use this extension. Not to mention multiple console errors on all pages I visit: `webApi-...js:18`
New complete rework update now it doesn't even work half of the time
horrible, hard to work with
Causes problems with page performance and has started overlaying invisible windows on the top right of websites so you cannot interact with part of your website. Contacting support also requires you be a Company Admin, not a good user experience.
Pick the absolute bare minimum you would expect from a password manager and this is it.
It is slow and unresponsive. Additionally, the search functionality is poor, as it struggles to return matches for words located in the middle of text.
Rpass password management is buggy. not very user friendly. There is a big GAP in making the user aware of, what happens when they confirm an action.
This app is not feature complete. We will continue to use 1Password.
Only works on chrome internal pages, never works on the websites to which I need to authenticate. Forces me to jump between tabs to copy paste the email, password and 2FA code. Very inconvenient
Don'd trust RPass. Switch to something better. I lost the vault multiple times and finally ditched RPass
Love Rippling, but this password maanger is super glitchy and makes it difficult to share between teams. I hope they upgrade it soon.
Unfortunately RPass looses access to the vault each time you need to change the Rippling password. Only remembering your old password allows to recover the complete vault. This makes the tool very troublesome to use and has caused a lot of frustration in our company because of lost passwords... A password manager should help to keep passwords and not loose them every few months IMHO.
Would be nice if it worked consistently. Having to log back in every.single.time. is tiresome and really lame. Really low effort put into this extension that only works sometimes. *Dropped to 1-star because now it logs me out as soon as I've used it one time. Terrible work y'all. Absolutely awful.
When its working it can definitely make it easy for teams to share passwords, its nice not to have to remember FedEx login for example. But with many sites, like Delta.com, it never works. Then sometimes it will stop working entirely and prompt you to "enter your password" before it allows you to log in with any saved passwords. But when you follow the steps the extension gives you nothing is solved. So basically not useful most of the time
There are some major issues with the way this extension works. When you paste in a password, if it contains a '<' symbol, the extension silently drops any characters between it and the next `>` (inclusive, drops the text through the end of the password if no '>' is present). Limitations to password characters should NOT come from the password manager!!
Chrome extension doesn't work half the time -- I get an error almost everyday. I have to frequently remove the extension from Chrome and add it back. Major headache. Wouldn't use this extension if it weren't for the company I work for using it.
Logs out at least twice a day (which then I have to do 2FA for), often freezes and can't load any of my credentials, often shows some error with connecting to rippling, organization (like ordering based on usage or the ability to order manually) is non-existent. Auto-filling is often broken. Sometimes it just struggles to load the credentials and I have to wait while it spins. Very poor user experience. I would highly recommend against using this software.
Frequently doesn't load at all when you select the icon, doesn't do anything well and gates access to everything, while occasionally just freezing. Almost a good enough reason to leave Rippling on its own.
Freezes, buggy, not user friendly with an ephemeral modal that can vanish with a mis-click outside its boundary. Creating new entries is painful.
stopped working as an extension and now I am locked out of everything.
Doesn't work - API not defined?
This review is based on a lack of features, not based on functionality. RPass DOES work as intended, but it cannot be called a password manager for a few reasons: - No passkey support - No desktop OR mobile app, so it can't be used outside of your web browser - Cannot store custom fields in records besides tags, name, username and password - Adding TOTP to an item requires manual setup, and can only be done *after* the password is created and saved - Limited configuration capabilities - Master Key is not truly random, but rather based on account information such as email and password. It's still not possible to derive it thanks to Rippling's security model, but it'd be better to use a truly random master key that is not based on anything the user has or knows in order. As well, it'd be better to require this Master Key to access a user's account & vaults. RPass's security model is sound, but I cannot call it a fully featured password manager. RPass is really no different than the password manager built into your browser. The benefit of using RPass is it's controlled by your employer. However, if you use Google Workspace, you can easily create managed Google profiles and require Chrome sign-in with those. Overall, I cannot see any benefit to using RPass. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because it *is* functional.
RPass does the bare basics of a password manager and nothing else. Importing from other password managers is painful and importing from 1Password doesn't seem to work at all. The extension seems to close itself randomly, and I have lost a new login several times because of this. Overall really frustrating to use and sometimes feels outright broken. I guess all the 5-star reviews are from people who haven't used a decent password manager before?
Functional, but extremely annoying to use. Issues with multiple Salesforce orgs that RPass is unable to differentiate between, issues with both RPass and Google Password UI's overlapping one another, issues when trying to get around these other issues, because the RPass popup closes each time you try to copy a username/password (so when you're suffering from Issue #1 or Issue #2, Issue #3 then makes your life more annoying.) Overall, it's OK and does what is says on the tin, but wouldn't recommend for anyone to use it.
I've found issues with using RPass from implementation to day-to-day use. The ability to generate a password is helpful and the Google extension being so accessible is nice however I'll explain the major reasons for the star rating. First, implementation was difficult as we encountered errors that weren't able to be explained by tech support. Second, when I need to copy both the username and password for a website, the extension closes after I click out of it which makes the process take longer. Third, the RPass interface in Rippling isn't easy to navigate. I wish, as a Super Admin the interface was built in a way sharing access to login credentials was the focus. Fourth, RPass doesn't always save your new password for an account, making logins inconsistent and incorrect. Fifth, setting up MFA codes is easy while sharing has been difficult. In general, to be 5 stars Rippling needs to invest in creating a better user interface for RPass within their HRIS, allow extension to stay open when copying username and password information and have implementation be easy to navigate when there are upload errors.
On the plus side, RPass offers support for 2FA codes within the app, which is a great feature. Sharing credentials is also a very useful option. However, it does a very poor job of the basics like saving passwords and filling passwords. It doesn't auto-populate anything when you log into a new site, and the popup window is not persistent, meaning that if you switch to another tab to grab your username and come back, the popup window is closed. I have to copy my credentials to a text file and manually add them to RPass. Filling a password is just as bad, the app will almost never fill the correct password. In some cases even if you specifically click the 'open and fill' option, it opens the right link but fills a password for a totally different link. Trying to type in the username then finds nothing. This might be because the app struggles with different urls on the same domain (e.g. multiple Salesforce orgs that are all on salesforce.com but have different urls and credentials). Finally, you can't take an internal credential and make it shared, which means you have to decide up front if your credential may ever need to be shared.
This only works half the time. Needs to be updated so it's competitive with other password keepers. Not very intuitive, old school layout.
When it works, it works fine but often need to re-sign in. A few times my passwords have been totally unavailable. Lots of bugs need to be worked out before I would recommend RPass over competitors.
The new upgrade doesn't work. You can't login to Rpass through the Chrome Extension.
I'm having the same issue as Erin. I have to keep removing the extension and re-adding it for it to recognize that I am logged in and auto-fill passwords. There's also no way to fill in basic HTTP passwords like with Bitwarden. I wish it worked better because it's what my company uses for PW management! Rippling, can you throw more resources at this please?
Have to remember to login to it everyday, otherwise it's just rendered useless. Who on earth is every going to remember to do that when it's out of sight. Very poor user experience.
Inefficient, ugly, and buggy at best. With ~1300 passwords stored can take 20-30 seconds to search/load which is orders of magnitude longer than services like Lastpass. Has an annoying recursive login loop bug which seems to be hard to replicate for support but results in me not being able to access passwords with the plugin. No way to further sort passwords than by workspace (personal vs business vs client). Will torch all your personal passwords if you have to reset your login. DO NOT FORGET YOUR LOGIN. Rippling is an amazing suite, but this seems like a hackjob of an extension programmed by interns. Pros: It's free (included in cost of platform) which saves a tremendous amount of money compared to paying for Lastpass et al for the entire company. I'll take moderate inconvenience as fair trade but that doesn't change my rating.
Sometimes the passwords that are selected seem like they're getting filled in from my Autofill and not from the RPass itself. Also, when you're trying to add a new password to RPass, the options for sharing are not given to you, so you have to create it, then go into it, and then you're able to share and set the permission level. That should all be in one step.
RPass is great for storing passwords. I wish I didn't have to login to rippling then rpass again after I've already validated with the same authenticator token.
Bare minumum password holder. Needs improvment to keep up with other tools.
It works....but it's also apparently poorly made. I've been using it for a few weeks but as of a few days ago, it has caused chrome to freeze up almost continually. I turned off all of my extensions and then systematically went through them one by one, turning them on and testing. Sure enough, Rpass was the one that was causing the freezing. None of the other extensions did this. I paid how much $$$ to Rippling and I can't even use the password manager?
Works great for some sites and not so great for others. Since the new Chrome Update last week, Rpass seems to be broken. You have to keep removing and readding it for Rpass to recognize you as logged in. Hopefully a fix gets implemented ASAP
How to remove icon inside input fields?
Logs me out periodically, freezes when I try to log in again. Worst password manager I've used. It has some nice team features, but UX is 1/5.
