Visualping

Since Jan 23, 2024 update, Kapersky flagged this extension as malware, with the HEUR:Trojan.Script.Miner.gen , which mines crypto in the background. Can you clarify the situation?

IMPORTANT! This extension is free only for TWO websites, for more that that you have to PAY. I hate it when companies always try to hide how much you can use it until you have to pay them money. Why not be honest and tell it before we spend time to install and configure it? Also, they failed to mention in description that it monitors only when browser is on. Otherwise, seems ok as long it works, just set it up, no alarms yet.

Jobs always disappear after a few minutes. Tried updating Chrome, but no luck.

It's not working properly. Check only after 20 seconds and not after 1 second. I sent an email to the developer but he doesn't even respond.

Doesn't work. Falsely alerts to page changes only for you to find out the selection area you set turned out to be completely different. Also only checks every hour.

the developers abandoned this extension , the constant problems with the extension make it impossible to use visualping

Seems to do exactly nothing. Tested against a local page, with a div updated via javascript ("allow access to file urls" enabled in chrome extension settings)

The browser based monitoring doesn't work on many websites.

Doesn't work, i use it for in stock alerts on a few stores and i know the items have gone in and out of stock several times and it does not notify me, even when i pick the very specific element i want to analyse.

The browser based tests never work. It pings me with supposed changes and 100% of the time its been wrong so far. Really frustrating when you're trying to use it to be notified about something being back in stock, I get excited when I hear the "ding" and then disappointed when I realize it was wrong every few minutes. I've tried selecting a small portion of the page, setting TEXT only and every other combo I can think of.

It simply did not work for me on two different computers. One pc is win 7 and the other is win 10. To test out the extension I decided to go to several sites that have rolling ads. I selected the rolling ads specifically and put the updates anywhere from 10 seconds to a whole minute. I received no notifications at all. I restarted chrome and no help, I restarted my PC and no help. The idea is bang on but your product simply did not work for me. such a shame.

Hugely problematic update to PageMonitor. I use page monitor to create my newsletter, as it allows me to track updates and find news on a large list of webpages. This update changes the way the pages are stored, and it doesn't know how to compare it to the last saved version from page monitor. So this week, it couldn't tell me if there were any updates because it had no saved versions to compare the current pages to. If you're going to update a browser extension that auto-updates, you have to make it backwards compatible. It's totally unprofessional. Beyond that, the new comparison method is far inferior to Page Monitors; the changes show up overlaid on top of the old page such that it just looks like a jumbled mess of green. Terrible. Don't use this.

What the hell? This used to be called 'Page Monitor Plus' and was useful. Whoever these Visualping assholes are they hijacked a good working extension and replaced it with this spam-ridden garbage without user consent. BEWARE AND REPORT

Latest version of Chrome (47.0.2526.106) crashes the browser when there's a notification of a changed page. Please fix!

This new app is hopeless. If I am not mistaken, it is only possible to monitor the screen-visible portion of a web page. If the web page is long (like most are) it is not possible to select the full length of the webpage to monitor. Am I wrong Serge? I recommend all previous PM users install "Page Monitor Plus". It is the original Page Monitor now distributed under MIT licence. Given VP's trashing of our previous PM data (forced upgrade with no web link data backup), don't install VisualPing's resurrected "Page Monitor". Support the new "Page Monitor Plus"

Visualping is selling your information, change to page monitor plus

Only thing I need is the setting to open all updated pages at once, next to the other of my pages, and NOTHING MORE! (like it was in Page Monitor) Not in the different browser's window in different style, with bugs of the extension etc. Please do the setting to open it like if I enter it in the browser... Also changing the time for everything at one will be awesome

Has some pretty big flaws that the author's other similar extension (Page Monitor) doesn't. The most egregious flaw is that it inexplicably opens everything in a new window and seems to provide no options to change this. Next most egregious is the lack of an option to edit anything other than a job's name after creating it. And after that is the inability to set a default time for everything, meaning if you don't want it checking things every minute, then you have to manually change this every single time you create a new job.

if changes a show in a new tab rather than a new browser , that will be better

Works well, needs some improvement in alerts. Edit1: Worked well on the first website I tried on, but on the second website it doesn't work at all. Tried both text and visual ping, selecting various elements, but nothing seems to work.

just checking it..bcoz it has stopped working until i give this review..for now..it does seem ok to use..not sure in future until i use it completely.
