It used to be a good extension where I could use RegEx or JS path to identify tracked elements. Now I can pick an element visually and... it detects changes anywhere on the page, ignoring that I have selected a specific item to track. Useless unless the tracked page is 100% static. Very disappointed.

The extension has only one function, but even it does not work. What is it for, then? And who are all these people who rate it highly? Bots?

Doesn't work, selected entirety of Prolific page and despite seeing the page changing in real time the page monitor never so much as reacts to it.

I am very disappointed with the lack of notication for the transition to Visual Ping, I need to be able to export my old pages. I don't need this tool and miss page monitor. Hoping to find or create a proper replacement.

This thing is so bad it just won't work. What is going on with the old Page Monitor?

Has some pretty big flaws that the author's other similar extension (Page Monitor) doesn't. The most egregious flaw is that it inexplicably opens everything in a new window and seems to provide no options to change this. Next most egregious is the lack of an option to edit anything other than a job's name after creating it. And after that is the inability to set a default time for everything, meaning if you don't want it checking things every minute, then you have to manually change this every single time you create a new job. I'm also not sure I buy Page Monitor being unfixable considering that this extension can obviously still manage to monitor pages, just in a way that's inferior in basically every way that actually matters. If anyone has alternatives that actually work , I'd like to hear them because this one is unviable and Page Monitor keeps resetting my settings even after following directions to recover my monitored pages.

Doesn't work for on site changes with Javascript. So in some cases the website changes but it does not get recognized.

For a long time it was great, perfect. Now you have to manually check all jobs to get updates. Completely useless now.

It doesn't work well. You must click "Check all now" to make it working. If I have to click this button everytime to get notified for changes, what's the point of this application? Check Interval Function Does NOT work.

Installed to see if it was a good replacement for Page Monitor but it was not.

Doesn't work.

On one desktop, I select an element on a webpage, click Monitor, and Chrome crashes. On another desktop, I select an element on a webpage, click Monitor, and absolutely nothing happens. Importing from a bookmarks.html copy/paste only imports the first item in the bookmarks file. This extension is completely useless.

Doesn't tell you that you need to pay for more that 2 free emails per day until after they harvest your email.

Doesn't seem to work for me. I get an alert every time it checks the website, it seems to detect a change every time. Used to work fine, not sure what has changed.

Tried it on a Facebook Event Page (local check every 1 seconds, local check every 10 seconds, selecting an area, selecting an element - none of the above worked) EDIT: For the purpose of Facebook Event Discussion Tab monitoring (i.e. ticket sale/resale posts), Distill Web Monitor does the trick for me: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/distill-web-monitor/inlikjemeeknofckkjolnjbpehgadgge?hl=en It's a bit more cumbersome to set up, but after that seems to work flawlessly.

the developers abandoned this extension , the constant problems with the extension make it impossible to use visualping

Poor, it goes to sleep forever when you close and open a Macbook. Only by clicking on Visualping it will be aktiv again.

Takes a lot of resources, keeping hot my computer at all times.

Does not do what it promises

This extension does not work like it should for me. First of all, it's very difficult to select the area to monitor because the preview window to select the area is very small. Secondly, I am getting notifications for things that are outside of the area I adjusted to. I adjusted to only watch the area that says Price but it's sending me notifications that the banner image at the top center changed?

It keeps giving notifications without new updates to the page monitored.

This program does NOT work for most of the websites I'm trying to monitor like Best Buy and many others. What is the point if they cannot track the most popular retail sites?

Only 2 pages, once a day. Very limited free use unless you pay significant money.

This has been a great app but since I reset my computer and installed chrome on both my laptop and desktop I'm stuck on the buffering to track websites.

Doesn't notify me, even when i choose a very specific element, trying to monitor items on a store that are out of stock, i know they have gone in and out of stock several times and i never get notified,,, where as if i pick the whole page it just notifies me every time because the "suggested products" section changes on refresh.

Completely pointless plugin. Even when it works, it will only allow 2 site checks every 24 hours unless you fork up some hefty dough... but why do that when you can just spend a day or two writing some simple code to do regular checks every few minutes on unlimited sites for FREE? How stupid is this?

Does not work. Doing browser check for CNN and NYT and it gives no notifications and does not seem to even be running the checks. Even clicking the Check now button does not make the checks run.

Very limited usage without a subscription. Disappointing.

Browser check doesn't work at all.

There's no alerts to changes and it doesn't refresh the webpage to check for changes.

This is pretty terrible, I do no recommend, Last time I keep getting alarms because as I move my mouse the software somehow captures that input over the closed monitored tab and makes it set off the alarm because the pictures become different since my mouse is highlining an element on the monitored closed page, this is a complete mess

Doesn't stick with your selected monitoring area and just check the whole page instead.

One star rating for failure to disclose limitations in free version. BE HONEST about your business model up front.

Bring back page monitor!! Visual ping is terrible. I have sounds enabled with the cuckoo option, yet anytime a page updates that I'm monitoring, I never get a sound alert.
