Description

Multitask efficiently by controlling browser functions from the desktop, even while Chrome is in the background. Manage audio and video playback, check downloads in the notification area, send files to your phone using KDE Connect and more inside the KDE Plasma Desktop! The plasma-browser-integration package must be installed for this extension to work. It should be available from your distribution's package manager when running Plasma 5.13 or later.

Fails with: Failed to connect to the native host. Make sure the 'plasma-browser-integration' package is installed correctly and that you are running Plasma 5.13 or later. I have no idea what any of this means, and there isn't any support to be found anywhere :(

vivaldi came with this extension when installed on arch with kde plasma. i just found out it was the cause of the browser freezing for 30+ seconds every time i started it, sometimes minutes. this was very annoying for a long time.

Installing Chromium on Fedora 41 KDE Spin results in advertisements in the notification area about this extension. Not sure if it's Chromium, KDE or Fedora offering this 'suggestion', but I do not appreciate this intrusion of my notification area.

Fails when using youtube. Basically in Full video screen mode, you cannot click on the Play / Pause controls at the bottom. I have to disable it.

Didn't work on my system. I don't know it is a browser problem, system problem or the problem is in the extension itself. It showing "Specified native messaging host not found" and asking to upgrade the plasma to 5.13 even I am running 5.21.4 . I know that this extension is great as I use it in my firefox browser but it didn't work for me on both brave and chromium. If someone know the solution please let me know. I am using the latest version of both brave and chromium.

Is this spyware? or something very poorly optimized. On KDE system I installed i3 session, logged in, started chrome, watched some stuff and seeing my laptop fans working full on, hot can't even touch and my battery draining af. Opened htop, seeing 100% cpu load on single core from this extension. Disabled it and fan stopped, battery remaining estimation trippled from 1 hour at 50% to 3 hours. This extension needs some serious work.

This extension made my Google Meet not to be able to open my camera(It DID open, but only showed the message "Camera is starting" and never actually could pass that point), I had to disable all my extensions one by one to find the culprit. I've uninstalled this extension. Please fix it.

It was OK before I started using Google Meet. In Meet there is an error when I switch to background image on camera view, When I disable Plasma Integration, Meet works great.

This extension blocks screen sharing if you are using the gotomeeting web app. You can no longer share your screen if you have this extension enabled. Please fix.

Simply, it does not work on Kubuntu 18.04 64bit and Chrome 70.0.3538.110. "Failed to connect to the native host. Make sure the 'plasma-browser-integration' package is installed." Additionally, there is no any resources or hints tells how could I install the regarded package.

Not sure why, and willing to increase the rating once solved. But for the past few weeks a number of websites (for a particular example, corsair's) would block me with an "Error 15 - Request blocked by security rules" message made by the website's imperva system. This was not one site, but multiple. After accessing 2-3 pages, the block would appear and then would only disappear after clearing the site's cookies (only for it to reappear after another 2-3 pages). Today I realized it's this extension. Not sure if it's some incompatibility with Windows (I did install it on my linux PC, and had sync turned on). Hopefully the issue can be pinpointed, and a fix be implemented.

Absolutely useless on Kubuntu 18.10. Just pops up a message on the desktop saying "Plasma Integration Error" and telling me to install a package that I already have installed. Searching the web yields solutions that include creating symbolic links to files that don't exist on my computer. Year of the Linux Desktop. Yeah, right...

Unsupported on Kubuntu 18.04! Failed to connect to the native host. Make sure the 'plasma-browser-integration' package is installed. Okay... `sudo apt-get install plasma-browser-integration` FAIL! E: Unable to locate package plasma-browser-integration Sorry... sounded promising but it's useless. Uninstalling.

Turning on Enhanced Media Controls with Fedora 42 and Chromium 140.0.7339.127 and version 2.0 of this extension results in no sound with Google Meet (there is no such problem with Firefox, or with other communication apps in Chromium). The mic and camera continue to work fine. Turning Enhanced Media Controls off re-enables sound. This did not happen with Fedora 40.

Works perfect in Linux Garuda (FireDragon / Chrome). __________ In Debian 12 shows this message (only Chrome): Failed to connect to the native host. Make sure the 'plasma-browser-integration' package is installed correctly and that you are running Plasma 5.13 or later. Specified native messaging host not found.

This extension has been working great for me for months up until today. No matter what I am listening to it reduces my volume by 50% every time a new audio stream starts. I went through and disabled my extensions (i have 4 including this one) one by one and obviously found that it was the culprit. Hopefully it is an easy fix, I do like this extension so I'd prefer to turn it back on. It is to annoying currently though.

Works great for more sites and has good potential. BUT, it breaks some video playing websites, for example, Sling TV, in Google Chrome or Chromium. Therefore, I had to remove it to restore the functionality of Sling TV via the browser. Overall, KDE Plasma is fantastic.

I don't know what it does. This came with KDE neon and websites look the same as the did with Mint Cinnamon. So I gave it a neutral rating.

This is a useful extension but unfortunately only to a point. I'm using SoundCloud and it can only pause music playing there, when I press resume, it starts playing one of my paused YouTube videos (it resumes SoundCloud only, if no YT tabs are open, I think). The second issue is that this extension is preventing my monitor (and to extension the whole computer) to go to sleep. I'm running KDE Plasma 5.13.5 on Ubuntu 18.10 (x64) and when the screen times out and wants to turn off, it goes black for a few seconds (doesn't really turn off) and then turns back on again (and stays on for an even longer time, than it should based on the screen off timeout settings), like some ghost touch would wake it back up (if I disable this extension, my monitor turns of as it should). I really like the work that has been done with this extension, but because of these issues I've had to disable it. Would really like to use it again if these issues (at least the sleep one) would get resolved.
