obnoxious high volume sound alert
Latest update is bad. It no longer defaults to just my unread. I now have to click unread first to see them, otherwise it just shows me the name of each of my feeds.
I was asked to leave a review - here it is !
The filter has been "leaking" things that shouldn't be there at random for years, and now the new update has made the chrome widget nearly impossible to use. When I open it and have over 40 unread, it's not helpful that I can only see 5 of them at a time and I have to scroll forever to see what's there. It also opens on the wrong tab which is kind of annoying.
The update makes one keep going back to reopening unread feeds.
new update reverts compact mode every time the window closes and begs for reviews daily
Used to be great but the new update forces light mode and it is unreadable, also CONSTANTLY asks for a review. Okay, here it is.
I was using the older version of Feeder for years (i'd give 4 stars) but recently they changed two things that ruined the experience: 1. when I click on the icon on the browser bar(chrome) it shows me my feeds but not the actual posts from the feeds. It used to just show the posts collated together. now i have do click an extra time on the unread posts tab. 2. it keeps requesting me to leave a review. Here it is. but it didnt clear the request.
I'm using the extension in Chrome with keyboard preference (no mouse) and I'd like to make a few suggestions: - would it be possible to mark a post as read and move the selection to the next post with a single key press while reading posts? This one-finger control would make life much easier - marking the active post was more obvious in the previous version ( gray background instead of blue line on the left) - starting today, when starting the add-on, "all channels" will be displayed. Previously, "unread" was displayed, which was better - would it be possible to mark multiple posts with a key so that they open? This is not possible now after all these new changes I'm starting to look for another simple RSS feeder that won't annoy users and will be easy to control from the keyboard
why its keep asking for review ? why its keep resetted my settings ?
Now that I'm being forced to either leave a review or dismiss the message, I think I'll leave a review! This used to be a great Chrome extension, worked well, wasn't intrusive, did its job exactly how it was supposed to. Since the last update, however, it has all gone downhill rapidly. For starters, the constant demand for a review is very off-putting and annoying, taking up unnecessary real estate on the dropdown box. The update has broken the extension so that everytime I click on it the filters do not work. You used to be able to select only unread stories from all feeds and it would remember that setting each time you clicked it. Now it resets back to the full list of folders and doesn't save any filters you apply, making you waste time to get through to what you actually want to see. As an aggregator it is supposed to make things simpler and quicker for you. It now does neither of those things.
I agree with many of the reviews before me about the recent default view change. Please either revert the to default to the "Unread" page, or create a setting for me to enable that myself. Furthermore, please stop prompting for a review every time I open the extension.
Developer did an update that now gets rid of the default "Unread" option so now you have to click thru to see your unread articles in your newsfeed. This makes it slow and kludgy. I hope that this was just a mistake and not what the developer really designed this update to do.
Changed the default view from Unread to All Feeds and no option to change it back, which makes it extremely annoying to use the browser plugin now.
The latest update now has me reviewing alternatives. Over the last year this once excellent extension has been deteriorating in quality (e.g. old stories appearing at random times, the constant prompt to 'upgrade' for more). As of today it now defaults to the all feeds section rather than unread as I've always had it, and has a constant prompt to review - so here is my review... Please revert the extension to default to the section last used (in my case Unread) and fix the issues with phantom stories appearing/disappearing
you force me to leave avis
Stupid app took $14 from me a week after they were supposed to take it and left me without enough money for a rideshare to take home at night. Also, the app on mobile is garbage and crashes a lot. I hope the people who made this app read this and know what a bunch of c-nts they are.
Sometime about two weeks ago I think this extension updated and I haven't been able to get it to work since, it's still saying that I have 23 unread updates but when I click the extension it's completely empty. No clue where my feeds went, I've been using this for years, synced to my Chrome profile, and have never had this issue before! So, only one star until this gets resolved.
not nearly as good as feedbro extension, which chrome removed
useless! "you want to read a feed? go to our page create an account and pay" - for reading an rss feed? a basic internet feature as old as xml itself - what next make a patent on fire?
This is not working, just keeps on buffering
I don't understand this stuff.
The extention is terrible. I just want to read RSS, but the extention asks me to sing up and use their website. I don't recommend to use it
I'm constantly getting Google Chrome notifications that Chrome extension RSS Feed Reader has been updated in the background. I've got all notifications turned off in the RSS Feed Reader settings. Edit: Email sent.
This extension has been spamming chrome notifications that it has updated in the background, whatever that means. Unable to disable notifications settings, for some reason it's able to force chrome into permanently allowing notifications.
Absolutely terrible after the rework. The feeds take ages to load. I have a feeling the results used to be cached and loaded instantly, now the loader keeps spinning every time you open a feed as it probably fetches the data again. Please fix this app which used to be working so well.
This extension used to be one of my all-time favorites. But now all of a sudden, it's not producing ANY push notifications for my selected 200 feeds anymore. So what happened? I did not make any changes to my own settings anywhere. It's seriously hard to believe for me that excellent stuff can be messed up so easily, and that apparently no one tests an update of this kind BEFORE releasing it to the public. Where and how can I revert to the previous version that DID work so nicely?
After the update it showed multiple hundred unread messages from years ago, now it totally stopped working and clicking on the settings leads to a sign up page. They are forcing you to sign up and the limitations like update only once in a day or max 3 feeds unless you are a premium member will come soon.
Since the update, the extension closes it's window once a link is clicked. I used to be able to open multiple pages and then close the feed myself once I no longer need it but now I guess the extension knows better than me whether it's still needed or not. I've found no way to change this back. Sad to see the extension's quality degrade like this. Edit: I've just found out that this is a setting that feeder decided to change for me, without asking. Intolerable.
Since the latest update you cannot select multiple pages anymore. Will look for another extension
If you have an action in "..." menu of a SINGLE item - do NOT make it do irreversible changes for all items. I've just marked all feeds as read due to your terrible UX
Agreed that this extension is quite a pain - always prompted u to sign up, upgrade account, etc. And most of the time, it is not working - always say some error, and give a link to a external web, which instructed u to go through lengthy process of troubleshooting. After few times this extension failed, I quitted it.
Looking for a traditional RSS reader, but this one is always prompting to sign up, create an account, upgrade to this, get that - this is the very behavior I'm trying to escape. If you want to get away from this social media ad-infested hell the internet has become, this reader won't help.
I can't edit feed urls
It doesn't work. When I try to add a feed, it says "Oops" Try again.
This is my go-to for RSS feeds, and I loved it up until they reduced the number of feed posts from 100 to 20, which really sucks.
It used to be great. But the constant nag screen to 'sign in/sign up' and 'upgrade account' is ridiculous. Not to mention the limitations of only 10 feed for the free account and it being super expensive for what you get. Time to find a new feed reader.
Customer support is non-existent, for a quite expensive service it is disappointing
You need an account to do anything, without one it is almost useless.
Post limit reached. Your limit is 25 posts, upgrade to get more! This is ridicules for a Feed reader. You have to pay 5Euros/month to get 100Feeds and pay considerably more for complete feed. What a rip-off, no thanks
Doesn't work unless you give it access to "feeder.co", which means the site can potentially read all your RSS feeds. Pointless if you have private feeds.
It was good at the beggining but now you have to pay or wait 2 hours to get updates. Pass...
The update interval for the free version is 2 hours. 2 hours! You could easily open up a new tab and look up the rss feed manually yourself in that time.
Started locking intervals faster than 2 FREAKING HOURS behind a paywall. So, I use this to be notified of time limited offers on the r/FreeGameFindings subreddit. With intervals of 30, 10, 5, and 1 minute(s) being locked behind a paywall, this makes being notified of these offers redundant and utterly useless. I will be finding a replacement RSS Feed extension soon.
2022-9-11 It became completely won't work if you don't have an account. No account mode was gone. It even prevents you from moving to another extension. Sad. 2021-12-04 Weird things. The no account is much better than Basic plan.
Randomly stopped refreshing all feeds for weeks. Requires an account to go to settings.
Used it for 5 minutes, i already hate it. This is crippleware. Shameful cashgrab.
it don't integrate with services like feedly and forces a login
Very agressive and confusing pushing of buying into pro
There are free alternatives out there that's doing most of your needs. This almost looked like a scam.
