Utterly useless. Maybe i am doing something wrong but the Chrome Close Lock tab is active and green saying "Protection Activated" which should mean Chrome can't be closed accidentally. Yet on several occasions when my mouse has inadvertently been knocked to the floor and clicked the X to close the browser Chrome Close Lock has not prevented Chrome Browser from closing. Thankfully on those occasions i could recover my tabs i have not always been so lucky which is why I wanted something to prevent mass accidental closing of tabs.
tabs are still closing with no reminder at all.
I can see no reason at all why you need to Read browsing history Manage apps, extensions, and themes These are the sort of activity used by hackers. Well, not on my computer. I've been using the app for a while now, it WAS brilliant. Now, it is disabled and going to be uninstalled.
Perhaps if I had kept this installed for more than 30 seconds, I'd have gotten used to a weird permanent tab with a monster face on it. Please someone implement this functionality in a straightforward day.
Would've been a wonderful app and it does what it says it does but it keeps opening like a billion tabs and glitching every so often out of nowhere. Like, even if I'm not interacting with the window, it'll just spasm out of nowhere then lock up my chrome so I can't use it.
TERRIBLE !! Seemed like a great idea - and appeared to be, at first.... ..but not for long.... When I start up Chrome it usually asks if I want to restore all pages - which I ALWAYS do... This app then hijacks them all, sends CPU usage to 100% for at least half an hour, sends Chrome usage to over 80%, and replaces multiple tabs on different windows (randomly) with red or blue warming triangle icons, ands nothing works - can swap windows, but all tabs unresponsive... Then costs me 30-60 mins waiting, trying to respond to flashing triangle icons, and then loses some of my Chrome windows with anything from 10-50 tabs on them... ..then they dont show up in 'recently closed' list, as the list is full of 'Close Lock' entries closed by itself after randomly opening them. So, then I have to try and find all those tabs again, recreate the lost Chrome Groups, and put them all back in - complete NIGHTMARE. Absolute BLOODY DISASTER... ....sorry mate - you need to fix this random lockup resource waster or delete it....
Completely useless. I have to manually click on it when the browser is open so it starts functioning. And also have to keep a tab open for it to work. Good ideal to a real problem, shame it simply was not done right.
Does not help as every time I start chrome I have to click on these tabs to enable, why it can be automatically enabled if the tab is there :(
If you accidentally close chrome just press ctrl + shift + T
Does not work at all: not for tabs and not for the browser.
doesnt work
Trust the bad reviews - this is not what you think. Immediately uninstalled this intrusive, obstinate plugin.
Annoying. Tab suddenly pops up out of nowhere and i've actually closed chrome accidentally more with this plugin than before haha.
crash after 2 windows open, Can't uninstall help
Good but poorly made it seems the user who made this forgot that each tab opend is its own process which means by using this your not only getting ram usage from the extension but the tab to now normally this is fine but for those shorter on ram its not
Doesn't work the way I had hoped, offering a warning when the window is closed, not the tab - so basically it won't stop you closing any website unless there are no other tabs open in that window. I was hoping for something that automatically engages on specific websites, not something that needs to be turned on manually every time. Having to have a weird extra tab open to operate the app is clunky to say the least, and the visual design of the app is ugly and excessive.
Would be good if it was more customisable. At the moment it's truly the ugliest app in the Chrome Store. Works well enough if you can stand the ugliness though.
Visual is weird and takes up more memory than necessary. Also it's so glitchy anytime I use a pop out it glitches and tries opening 20 tabs, needs a lot of improving and bug patching.
Addon is dead, not working now!
Each time you have to turn it on manually!
It is useless. It does not give the alert, when accidentally closing 1 one tab. This function should be included in Chrome itself. If I fill out a form in Chrome and accidentally close it, I have to start all over. I have to use other browser for that.
well I don't know what is wrong with this extension, yes it does what it says, but then it also does a lot more like opens numerous more tabs of the extension and then wreaks havoc on the chrome window. I don't know but it opens in every window I open. I have maybe two open and need too. I work on two different google accounts. stop the extension from opening numerous times. please and then maybe we can move the star bar up
Doesn't work with Vivaldi (at least my version. Other Chrome extensions do. Great idea though. No idea why "close confirm" isn't an option on every browser, it's pretty basic.
Need you click to confirm, its not a automated work!!!how can be enabled on startup???
suspicious
It somewhat works, but in an annoying way. Especially if a tab moved to a new window, and then moving it back creates new Chrome Close Lock tab.
Very nice and useful, but its implementation is strange and it needs to be hidden like other extensions . It better be active all time and hidden . Thanks
working. but bad visual.
the add-on is ok but why is it so weird? there doesn't need to be any themes. i just need a black page with minimal memory usage and that would be fine. also why does it need to be enabled every time?
how it works I not understand
Used to be great. Past few months, it occasionally (once every 2 weeks) glitches and opens a few dozen times in the same Chrome browser window, lagging the browser to the point of freezing. 5 minutes later it crashes the extension and I have access to my tabs again.
***Use "Closure" instead*** "Chrome Close Lock" was working fine until about a month ago. It was one of my favorite extensions. Now if enabled, the extension opens dozens of duplicate pages and freezes the browser for at least 30 minutes. To get back to a functioning browser, you have to close each opened tab one by one. I've searched all through the chrome store, and I finally found the perfect one named "Closure." It's a wonderful app that works like I want - doesn't let me accidentally close Chrome. Simply right click on a unused and pinned tab (preferably) and a notification window will pop up asking permission to not close the window without consent. Works well and easy to use. The Closure extension can be found here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/closure/jjagagcgljmlnihcilbpbfcglnopepjb
do to be useful as what it stated as, but seem like something wrong with the programming, it will open multiple or a lot lock tab, when i just open a tab in new window, starting to encounter problem on open a lot of unecessary lock tab after use it long time, this problem need to be solve.
I want to use Chrome Close Lock default as ON please change it.
Please change these pictures! They are annoying. And it should be better if it starts to function directly, not to wait until we click on it
Good extension, it should work automatically though. Another thing, please change or allow to change the tab icon, it is simply annoying (i mean the warning triangle that changes color [warnBlk, warnBlu, warnRed, warnWht]) it should be something simpler (no animation imho) like the disabled lock icon (brown).
Not quite what I'd hoped for, but ok. What would really be useful would be to be able to lock specific tabs (like making sure I keep my gmail tab open) rather than having just a generic lock on the whole browser session. I tried putting my gmail url into the locked tab, and now I have another tab next to the lock that seems to open automatically and only has the gmail icon, no text (similar to the locking tab) so ... well, I guess that's OK, even though it's probably not supposed to be used that way. I would love to be able to lock gmail, Trello, and other things that I need to keep up on, and also to be able to temporarily lock sets of tabs when working on a specific project. That seems like it would be a fairly common use case, I wonder why there aren't browser extensions that do that?
This used to be enabled as soon as I opened chrome but now I gotta click to enable, now everytime a Ad pops up via another window it disables the extension again and I gotta click to re-enable which defeats the purpose of the extension. Could you possibly make this a setting to be enabled on startup like before?
