injects css into every page, messing with tailwind dark mode on pages that use it
i paid pro and after a while it just stop working
They made something that used to be free paid, it is the worst thing you can do.
I've ben using this for months but then they went behind a paywall, $21 for a chrome extension???
how do you stop the strict mode without uninstalling it???
It was great until all the features went behind a pay wall.
He is removing features and adding them to the payed version... I have to delete it. Don't be too greedy mate...
Stopped working after they updated it, too bad.
Does this work on Chromebook's Chrome? So far, I feel it's malware. Unable to specify which website it blocks. Defaults to enable read and write data for all websites. Where does, for example, banking data go to?
Revised review: I echo the sentiments of others — this latest update is disappointing. I understand the need to monetize, but it shouldn’t come at such a cost to users. The removal of the most crucial feature from the free version, which required holding down a button for a few seconds to access a website, has made this plugin useless. My original review: I loved it!
It had stopped working, but after I re-installed version 2.3.4 via www.focusmode.app it works again. Update: it stopped working again. Pros: + intuitive and pretty UI + requiring a meditation break or proof of effort to unblock access is helpful and cool Cons: - doesn't work - cannot have schedule-specific block lists / white lists - does not search the whole URL for a keyword, only the domain
Decent. I like being able to turn it off/on if I need access to something in the moment or want to take a break. However, this continuously deletes the list of blocked websites — even ones that come listed on install — forcing you to re-enter them all in. There's no rhyme or reason to why it does this. And while it's just tedious the first few times, after the 5th or some time, I'm beginning to consider other extensions to keep me focused instead.
it doesnt start automaticlly i should click on the icon otherwise nothing will happen
Good for the most part. It prevents me from getting distracted on many sites, and it has definitely helped my productivity. It is a little annoying how some simple features like choosing how long to access a site is locked behind payment, but 5 minutes is a good free default. My main issue is that it doesn't work with reddit at all, which distracts me a lot. I often find myself spending more time there just because it's the only accessible site, which doesn't really solve my problem. I really hope you can fix this!
Changing my review to a more positive one after discovering you can go to extension > options > allow in incognito mode. Now I can even block websites I've been sneakily using to not focus on my studies. That said, paywalling basic features is not exactly nice. I'm an OG user and making us pay for everything is what made me stray away from Momentum.
Good but not very enjoyable unless you pay...
great extension but i can't add more than one keyword!! uts just crashes when i try to add one more
The new update breaks previous functionality while introducing "PRO Features". As previous reviews note, the "Let me continue" button no longer works. It is unclear to me whether this is a bug or not, though my suspicion is that it is a bug. I would consider supporting the developer once the future direction of the extension becomes clearer. Previous versions were a solid 5*.
This latest update needs rolling back as the huge add for the pro version ruins it's simplicity - and actually has broken the functions from working properly
You created a good extension, there was no need for update. This was one of the best things I had discovered, but now after the update, I can't seem to use blocked websites even for few minutes unlike before. The pro page is huge and takes up the whole page, I click on 'let me continue' and it does not give me the option to open that for 5-15 mins. If original feature is not reinstated, I'll uninstall this
I really like this extension, it helps me stay focused by blocking out distracting websites during the day. However, in the latest update, the blocked screen is now an advertisement for signing up for pro subscription. This is distracting, and does not align with the original purpose of the extension. I'll uninstall if this doesn't change and look for another solution, but thanks keeping it distraction free until now.
doesn't seem to be working anymore??
I have an issue with this app. After 2-3 weeks using it, suddenly the focus mode was automatically turned off permanently (you can't switch back to focus mode). It says "You are on a break. Focus mode will resume a month ago" I reinstalled and was able to use it for a week and the same thing happened. Any help with this?
I mean, whats the point if I can just turn it off with a button? There should be some other mechanism like solving a puzzle.
This extension is great in theory. However, the "5 minute break" function is quite buggy. Sometimes nothing happens when you click it and you have to turn Focus Mode off completely, then remember to turn it back on again. (Also, it should be "take a 5 minute break" not "take a 5 minutes break")
Great minimal extension, other extensions are unnecessarily complicated. Shame that it's buggy though, the 5 minute break timer is far from perfect and it doesn't handle subdomains. Hope it's fixed.
Take a 5 minute break doesn't work. I click take a 5 minute break and websites will stay unblocked until I go back to the window and hit resume now even after the 5 minute timer is up. If this problem was fixed it would be perfect! If you open a blocked website and click take a 5 minute break and close the tab it won't reenable after 5 minutes.
