Great idea, poorly executed. I have 2 sets of bookmarks, work and personal. It's constantly mixing them under one heading and leaving the other empty. Fix it please

UPDATE: No update from the developer. This extension is now a waste of time - it CONSTANTLY looses and reorders my bookmarks in the bookmark manager, causing me delays in having to find them and reorder them when moving between machines. Please patch this because it is totally useless in this state. It causes work! Echoing Fabio below. This plugin has started reordering and moving bookmarks to different folders. Has totally destroyed my workflow and caused me a tonne of work. Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening? Cheers all!

I installed this because the other Bookmarks Bar Switcher stopped working recently, but this is a totally unusable: it's slow and keeps messing up with the bookmarks, moving them from one folder to another. I hope they will fix this (or the other one) soon.

Unfortunately, just like other reviewers, somehow things got messed up. Got two bookmark bars, and they mixed. Now I gotta deep dive to carefully reconstruct and hopefully not lose anything. Rabbithole I don't want on my plate, so unfurtunately gotta find another extension. Another issue was that there's some sort of hotkey that toggles the bookmarks, 99% when I don't want it, and I can't figure out which hotkkey combination it is.

Gets really messed up when using multiple computers. I had 2 sets of bookmark bars and when I started up Chrome on a 2nd computer and tried to switch which Bookmark Bar I was using it merged them both together. And now the 2nd bookmark bar is empty.

Should have read reviews first. Bookmarks keep getting merged. I noticed it happening when I switched between devices - appears to be some weird session sync issue or something. Have to find another extension I guess.

JUNK!!! I should have read the reviews first! All my bookmarks are messed up now as this mod has merged them into various folders.

Not good when working on two or more devices. Every time I switch device, the bookmarks get messed up.

Keeps losing my three bars and mixing them up - shame, had high hopes at first

this is dogsh*t.! Every time i go between my laptop & pc the bookmarks reset & i have to open manager to manually relocate them..! Had enough now removing from Chrome.

Unfortunately, the bookmarks didn't sync and when I opened Chrome on another device, both of the bookmarks were merged together.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I'm an avid organizer and I started using this extension months ago thinking I'd hit a jackpot. And I've wanted to love it. I just can't. It works great for a while, then all of sudden all bookmarks in a folder will simply disappear. The first three times it was one particular folder on repeat. Although I used it multiple times per day, it was fortunately a folder with only a dozen or so bookmarks. So irritating to have to recreate it so many times, but doable. This time, however, it removed all bookmarks from THREE folders. All of them. Completely. I've lost literally hundreds of bookmarks. Instead of anxiously awaiting a release with subfolder functionality, I'm done. Away it goes.

Worked for a long time and then BOOM, stopped. Lost my bookmarks. Put them all back again and two days later, one of the bookmarks is "empty". Gone. I'm done with this.

DO NOT USE. It ruined a lifetime of bookmarks for me. I have a thousand bookmarks in the bookmark bar, organised into groups. Not only could it not switch between the groups consistently, it jumbled them up, and put some bookmarks in another group, until in the end it was impossible to restore my bookmarks.

Would be awesome if it actually worked. It keep combining both groups

Does not work across multiple devices

Used it for 10 minutes. - It’s slow and has merged some of the folders in my bookmarks during I was testing the behavior switching between bookmarks. - In the end, it has completely messed up the hierarchy I’ve built over the years. Thankfully, I had the good habit of backing things up before testing them - I strongly recommend anyone do the same before trying this extension. This is definitely a no-go for me. Apologies to the developer (I know he/they must have put time and effort into it), but the extension is really unstable. It’s a shame, especially considering that a perfectly working extension was previously removed from the Chrome Web Store after years of reliable service. It’s honestly incredible that, after all these years of development and consistent user demand, Chrome still doesn’t offer this as a native feature!

all bookmarks were saved under one "bar" and I'm now trying to find out how to put separate them and save under a different bar

Works most of the time, sometimes it pushing all the bookmarks onto the one profile and then I need to put them all back which is a little annoying

Like its counterparts it doesn't always work and sometimes just disappears. I have my bookmarks bars sets backed up as separate collections in 'Toby' which has been stable since I started using it ages ago. It is annoying because this is such a good idea. Maybe its a retirement project to develop one that works. So...when the you select a particular bar it creates the bar but empties the bookmark folder and rewrites to that folder when you choose another bookmark. Thus if you delete the app the bookmark bar stays with set in place but the folder for that bar is left empty. This sort of explains the behaviour of loosing data.

Would be nice but glitches basically all the time making you reorganise everything. Not fun to use

So, after 4 months I had to try it again. It worked for 10 minutes. The function behind is: the bookmarks will be copied into the bookmarks bar. So if you switch between the bars, the one will be cutted and pasted in the "normal" path in its standard folder. The other ones will be cutted and pasted in the bookmark bar. But now I had to notice that this process wont be realized clean. Several bookmarks of an other bookmark will be displayed now in my "home & office". Important bookmarks of an judical case I collected are everywhere, but not there where they have to be. So, my question is: is there a limit for bookmarks your tool is able to handle clean?

After I made two bookmark bars, the next day it cut the bookmarks from bar B en added it to bar A. This happend 3 times now.

Loved this for several weeks until it stopped working! Super annoying now.

I need to be able to have subgroups so I can group my bookmarks bars. After lots of bookmark bars this is losing its use.

When it works, it works great. I had separate bookmark tabs for both work and home that worked great until they get merged together and jumbled. It moves the bookmarks between the tabs for no apparent reason and at random intervals. I can't be bothered to keep redoing them every time, so for now, it's uninstall time.

Update: Still not working. It always combines both folders back in one...... have to uninstall it :( Amazing tool, should be integrated in chrome as a standard function. Unfortunately it stopped working. I work on a mac and a windows machine. Since a week, everytime i switch computers, all bookmarks are combined in one location and my two generated folder are empty. have to refill them everytime from start...resets again. if this wouldn happen, i would give 5 stars
