I am very disappointed with the customer service. I have been unable to contact them for months just to get the invoice for my purchase. I am not ready to renew.

Seems like a powerful tool however the program does not activate. Every time I load Gmail it asks me to activate Mail Tag even thought I had just activated it. Mail Tag 'forgets' activation within the same browsing session.

I installed this extension. Did a test with my other gmail account to if it works, DOES NOT WORK!

Not sure why 5 star reviews are being written again. This STILL does not work. I can not believe how unreliable MailTag has become. Over a month of not being able to use a service that we have paid for is unheard of. If this extension comes back around to be fully functioning I'm expecting a few months for free for all paying users as compensation for all the inconveniences. In the future, make sure your update is fully functioning before you update your system. Your website is not even working. I can install the extension again but I'm being constantly logged out and if I want to log back in I'm getting 502 Bad Gateway. I'm not even bothering sending emails because my clients can't click links on old emails as this extension has messed all the redirect links up and telling every client they manually have to copy the link and paste it is just crazy. Thanks for messing up my work.

Well, it's a New Year and still not working anylonger!! Love the System when it's working and the support staff are not lying about what is happening and how long it will take to fix. It's sad this company and others are starting to think lying is the best policy these days, but it's not!

I am moving on to a new mail tracker. This is ridiculous. You have our money. If you do not have the technical ability to upgrade the product while keeping the original in place you have bigger problems than you think. Very disappointed. Really liked the original service but apparently you are screwing it up. Lesson 101 on how not to take over a business.

What a fraud! Stopped working weeks ago, their website is down, and yet they charged my card yesterday!! Google, please shut these guys down!! They are STEALING

I've used MailTag as a paid subscriber for around a year now. Haven't had any problems until the last 24 hours when the service went down, without warning, not long after taking this month's payment. There's been no communication from MailTag, and support emails have gone unanswered (both by traditional email and through messaging on Facebook). If this outage becomes permanent, I will have lost the data I needed (and relied upon - and paid - them to keep). They'd recently raised over $100,000 in investment funds on Republic, so it's not like they are apparently short of money, but they have had issues with unhappy customers re: trying to cancel the service. That's a long story that you can look into with a simple search. I feel massively let down, given that I supported them right from the get-go. Unfortunately, I'd advise you to avoid them. It's unacceptable for such poor communication (I'd be fine if they'd sent an email letting me know that there's an outage, and that they were working to resolve it.)

The externsion recently stopped working correctly. I mean, it wouldn't even show up in my Gmail account. I've written the company repeatedly for OVER 2 WEEKS and NO REPLY.... They say 24 hour customer service. They also give you no option to CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION without contacting you. Basically, they hold you hostage and keep charging your credit card... Terrible Company. Stay Away.

I loved this app until recently that it just stopped working, no response on the email channels or social media channels - Don't purchase.

I paid for this and was happy to use it for a time, it does work well, the problem is trying to cancel the account as other reviewers have mentioned. I moved away to a similar extension that was cheaper and supported by the email software I use, Shift App. Since then I have been charged for at least 2 months I wasnt using it and after I had requested to cancel the account. I know they have seen my emails as the extension MailTrack tells me that but they refuse to cancel the account. I have had to cancel my credit card to stop them from taking payments and I get an email every few days telling me they have tried to make a payment again. Everytime I respond asking them to cancel the account....Nothing. Stick to the free plan and dont get caught in a payment loop, also look for cheaper options out there.

BUYER BEWARE: I took out a trial (October 2018) and and then committed to a YEARLY Plan as initially I thought it was a great system and it delivered everything that it claimed and I was happy with that. That was until it stopped working 2 MONTHS ago (Feb 2019) and after numerous requests for assistance by email to their support section, I have never had an answer or reply and my tolerance has been tested. It's now (April 2019) and still nobody has got back to me. I think the Support Section is DODGY to say the least. I've disabled it, re-instated it, sent request after request politely asking for assistance and nothing. Well I don't like doing this in a public forum but that's what reviews are about. I THINK THE TECHNICAL SUPPORT ON THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT EXIST AS YOU WOULD EXPECT. Hated it is not the operative rating for the system when it worked but it surely is for the follow up support when it was needed the most. Ignore me know more .. FIX IT or send my money back.

I have been using the full version since 2017 and have loved it, the times I did need tech support they were very prompt and helpful. Now since March of 2019 it stopped working and I have emailed support 4 times and sent two emails to the help email and have not received any response. It seems since they closed the funding round they have fallen off the face of the earth.

The app was working great for me for about a month. I had absolutely no complaints at all. All of a sudden, everything disappeared from my inbox. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times but nothing has helped. This has been going on for close to 2 weeks and after roughly 5-6 emailed to customer service, I have not heard back from anyone. I paid for the year and its disappointing that I have to leave a review in order to try and get a response from customer service.

Recently I was mistakenly charged for a Yearly membership before even confirming the same with me nor displaying the final amount to me. I must add here that the Yearly membership if many fold higher than the previous membership I was on. I was directly charged from my credit card without any confirmation. I have written multiple times to their support email but not got any reply. Their website claims to have a 24 hour refund guarantee but did not hear back from them since the past 10 days or so. Beware of their false claims and misleading workflow of their billing page!!

Although it works as advertised, even with a paid plan they try to shove more down your throat. Example: two days ago they started a campaign to get users to "invest" in their company by purchasing "pre-IPO stock." Their "crowdfunded equity offering." How did they approach users? Naturally by taking over our inboxes with an obtrusive POPUP that you can't get rid of without disabling the extension. Try to close it to get to your inbox, and it just pops right back up. Not only that, you can't even put it in the background because it grays out the entire mail interface. Even clicking the "Learn More" link, which takes you to their "give us your money" webpage, doesn't close the popup. Unbelievable. Who knows how these guys treat your data. So, on that basis alone, I have to give this extension a one-star review. I had another issue with this extension previously too. I had the free trial on two different Google mail accounts, and when the trial expired, I bought the full version for one account and cancelled the other. Guess what? I couldn't remove it from my other Gmail account unless I removed the extension from my browser, which of course disabled the paid version too. So as long as I was using the paid version in one account, the other Gmail account was unusable because the "buy the paid version" popup took over the inbox. They called it a "bug" and eventually manually removed it. But that's not good enough, guys. This extension is not ready for prime time. The latest issue iced the cake. Can't get at my Gmail unless I completely disable the extension.

NEVER BUY MAILTAG! NEVER GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO TO MAILTAG!! Below are reasons and my poor story: 1) In their dashboard, there is nowhere to delete your credit card, nowhere to cancel subscription. I was their customer in the past years, now I want to stop and remove my card. But I can't remove my card from their payment system. I failed..Now they charge year by year. Just like thief,steel money from your pocket forever!!! 2) When you ask their help to remove the credit card information. They never reply you! I tried to email them, chat with them for more than 1 month. Until now, no single reply from them. And they keep steal money from my card in December 2018. Plugin works but support is very bad. No response from team whatsoever. I have requested for cancellation over 2 months and still no response from them. Amount was deducted for 2 months and still no response on chargeback.

I can't remove my card from their payment system. I upgrade and paid about 34USD last year for a year plan. Then I wrote to them to remove my card and I don't want to pay for next year. But last month they cost me 34USD again and I wrote many email to them but no reply. I talk with them online also no reply.

I dont usually leave reviews, but when a company behaves unprofessionally I feel the obligation to. The tool works as advertised, and the functionalities are great- but not for the price. After using it for a month with a paid subscription, I couldn't justify how much it costs, especially considering the multitude of options. The real concern is that if you'd like to cancel a membership, there is no way to remove your Credit card from the billing section on your own or to cancel said subscription (which I am certain is a violation of some sort of consumer protection laws). Even contacting the team at MailTag regarding this - or any matter - takes too long to respond. I emailed the team, and even sent a message through their bot about 6 hours ago, with no reply. Completely unprofessional.

Was new to mailtag and i liked what it had to offer. It would be worth between 1 and say 4 bucks monthly ... for the "free" features ... Their new model charges $18 -> total rip off. I am a software dev myself and i know great software is worth a lot of money ... but the free features were convenience services. You guys should offer a "sub-premium" plan just for the main featuresand make that a lot cheaper. Greedy that is what it is ;) My rating: Hated it

Free version going away 10/1/2018. Another money grubbing company. Fortunately, there are several other companies out there offering the same services.

not working. tried installing multiple times.

It simply doesn't work. None of my emails are marked "read", and some of them were surely opened and read. What gives?

Installed it, authorized it, used gmail to email some other email account. Read the email. 30 mn later, the email still shows in my dashboard as "unread". Conclusion: It doesn't work :( Other minus: it labels every email with "Mailtag" which means the recipient knows you're tracking when they open your email.

STOP THE POP-UPS! Also, why did my web browser homepage go to Yahoo after i installed this? steer clear of this extension!

When I installed this extension, I've started receiving emails from weird chinese companies. Are you selling our information? I quickly uninstalled it.

MailTag is VERY slow. Why is this thing so laggy?

I received 50 emails in the last 2 hours from weird companies i never heard of after I installed this addon. Very sketchy... don't install MailTag!!! SCAM SCAM don't install

If your using a different browser like vivaldi... than it just freezes the tab

The trial period stopped working early and my email to support wasn't answered. I decided to pay for the service and I'm unable to turn on most of the options in the settings menu which isn't ideal. But perhaps the worst part is that the read tracking updates each time I click on the email in my own inbox, completely ruining any insights this tool is supposed to provide.

The plugin doesn't work. I have had it for over a year and it's slowly lost functionality and its not supported by the developers at all. Just empty promises of future capability.

i dont understand much

I agree some of the recent reviews. Good when free but lacks some basic features - I cannot remove my account from my co-worker's premium package, and I cannot cancel and delete my account permanently. My coworker is having issues as well on the paid version. Needs to be ironed out first before it is ready to be a paid product.

I've been using for a great email tracking, tested around 7 different plugins for my Gsuite (and Gmail also) accounts, Tested Mailtag and it was ok ( there were some bugs, but in general it was ok) But they just announced that they're closing their FREE plan...What? Really? You lose me, now I'm moving to Docsify (tested them also, and liked their features and design) - for now it's my alternative. It's was ok, thanks and bye!

Too bad they are charging for it, as it was nice while it lasted. Why cant they offer past users or new ones a limited free version like RocketBolt or others do instead of nothing? They also sent me an email only 14 days prior to it changing. Reminds me of MoviePass tactics changing terms. If you are looking for alternatives try Mailtrack, or just search the Chrome Store for 'email tracking free'.

Test sending to my desk (Outlook), the first thing I see as the message preview (I display a one line message preview) is this: <https://app.mailtag.io/email-event/[track code here]> Seems like this could've been placed later in the message (such as before/after where the MT signature is). So if you want to potentially broadcast that you're tracking to your message recipient, use this extension. If you want to be a bit more subtle, find something else. If not for this glaring issue, I think its functionality would be 5 stars. This is a horrible fault for me, however.

This extension is nice so you can finally track all the email that is sent to you, but the issue is I cant see the location where the one who sent the email.

It is not tracking mails outside USA. After adding this extension, I have sent gmail to several people in several countries. It is tracking only those recipients who are in in USA. It is not tracking read emails in Europe or Asia. Is there something wrong in my settings ?
