Straight up won't do anything. Stays in offline mode. No way to fix it. Won't answer emails. Company is pretty bad.

Just plain does not work. Always says "**You are offline.** Linguix requires an Internet connection." But I AM online and the Internet works for everything else, and there's no other error message nor anything else that can be tried. If I go to manage my extensions and turn Linguix off and on, and click the icon, it will briefly say "Connecting to server..." and THEN THE ENTIRE EXTENSION CRASHES AND NEEDS TO BE RELOADED. If I have inspect the service worker, at no point does any network activity seem to take place, even when it says "Connecting to server..."
does not work
Does not recognize Brazillian Portuguese language.
This extension is incredibly glitchy! Users must refresh the current tab every time they want to use it, and it frequently defaults to unexpected languages. Such a waste of money!
Slows down my chrome browser when activated! Can you fix this please?
Be cautious: this is a scam; they will steal money from your account. I paid for an annual subscription at $66. After a few months, the extension began to glitch, producing strange output and freezing browser windows; consequently, I stopped using it. Recently, however, they deducted $120 from my account for another year's subscription. It turned out they had linked my card and enabled recurring payments without clear consent. Furthermore, the payment doubled to $120 for an application that is non-functional, and which I haven't used in more than six months! They refused to refund the money. Beware of these fraudsters. I do not recommend this service.
The latest update dt 27.02.2024 is really bad and is not working as expected. I would like to switch back to the older version. Please do it. this new version is very rubbish to be honest.
Pure rip off takes the money and does nothing. does not download or help me with any grammar real charlatans who are only after your money. Give them a wide berth.
If you like being nagged over and over to go pro, install this. This one of the two top reasons I uninstalled Grammarly.
Browser extension doesn't work. Web editor not at all helpful - it missed loads of errors and what it did highlight, you had to upgrade to premium to see. Do not recommend.
doesn't do anything without buying pro
Anoter one that wan'ts us to give our email to sign up. NO!
It always give the wrong and meaningless suggestionsπ‘π‘. Wasted my money by taking the lifetime deal on Appsumo
Avoid! Go with Grammarly instead. Not worth the price and terrible customer service.
the function "lookup in linguix" with right click stopped working days ago, now only shows a cat with "not found". Moreover i still can't digest the fact that they offered a lifetime license days ago for less money than i paid for 1 year subscription, and they never informed their customers. I sent a mail to complaint and they never replied. Not a serious customer-focused company.
Every day, I turn off ("pause") the now-on-by-default "definition suggestions" that litter every webpage. And every night at midnight, they reappear. So infuriating. I've deactivated these from the settings and they still appear. About to uninstall this app, I don't need another extension draining my bandwidth and slowing down pages.
I paid for Linguix. I have the extension installed but it's never working, whatever which brower I work with.
yet ANOTHER grammar/spellchecker that pretty much requires a "Premium" account...sigh.
To those looking for a FREE grammar and spell-check: THIS APP IS NOT WORTH IT! One of THE worst extensions I have ever downloaded; there isn't even a free plan (compare that to Grammarly, that, although is rather annoying, still lets you use it for free)! The best you'll get is $4/month, and while that is a bargain, this is only for a limited time, since they're offering 45% off their plans. In my mind, all grammar and spell-checker should have a free plan option, and since this one doesn't, it is viewed as dumb and unusable in my eyes. Use it if you want, but disclaimer: IT AIN'T FREE!
very bad you sending lots of meseges on my email
Various features don't work, such as "Look up XYZ in Linguix". When you click on that menu option, nothing happens. Awful beyond comparison. This has got the worst instructions I have EVER come across for any app. I spent an hour looking around online on their website, looking everywhere, but couldn't find very basic instructions such as which key combinations to click to find synonym suggestions etc.! Terrible to have such oversights. Indicative of arrogant and complacent nature of the company's staff.
I need to use this software in Word for my job. There is a Word add-in, but it only identifies issues, and then it's tough to navigate and resolve them.
Very buggy on Mac
wish it was better for dyslexic as there is a lot of word it doesn't suggest even if is missing one letter.
i was a Grammerly premium user. i purchased the premium licence for Linguix in a deal with the assumption it can be a good replacement. i was wrong. Linguix is slightly better than default word document editor but nowhere close to Grammerly. This tool can not recognize the academic spellings and if you want to use for academic writing, possibly it disappoint you.
there are better alternatives that offer way more for free. grammarly and/or prowritingaid for example.
I have not used Grammarly. I did give Microsoft Editor a try and that was awful. While this is somewhat better than Microsoft Editor but overall experience is still quite frustrating. It is impossible to report things it is missing. The feedback section just has a text box with no place to attach screenshots or anything. You can add new words from the text editor but there is no provision of how they are capitalized. It also misses a lot of punctuations and capitalizations. As of now, it is more or less a spellchecker and worse than Google's internal spellchecker because they have an incredibly large database of words that are correct but are not really part of dictionaries like brand names and such. I am not sure if I am missing something but it really needs a feature where I can send the content of text box for review where I think it did not do a good job. Or anything.
To be honest my experience hasn't been marvellous in the last two days since I got the premium subscription. I have sent them an email in response to theirs and hope they will sort me out. I have a premium sub on Grammarly and will hold it close till this is sorted. I bought it as a lifetime deal so worst case scenario, I will lose that amount. I am keeping my fingers cross. So far its only 2 stars from me Even as I write this my errors are being corrected by Goggle not Linguix. I see no pencil.
Linguix is fine for grammar, but it feels limited and a bit clunky for real productivity. TinaMind combines writing help with summaries, mind maps, and document analysis in one place.
I am not very good with computers because I have Parkinson's and I am 82 years old. All I am saying is I want to make sure that I don't want to be taken advantage of, that I get what I need.
Its a great alternative to grammarly but its held back by a few things. Firstly, its super buggy, for example, even though i'm set to GB english, it keeps trying to correct my spelling to US english. Sometimes when writing you pause or make a correction as you go but it seems to not notice that and still points out the mistake. The way a sentence that it suggests should be re-written is highlighted makes it difficult (sometimes painful) to just click in and make a manual correction because the moment you try to click in anywhere it opens up its own correction dialogue box. Overall its worth trying out, and even with those complaints it should be a 4 star but it gets 3 because I've contacted the developer several times and nothing seems to get fixed. Hopefully these will get address in the near future and this will be a true alternative to grammarly.
Its great and makes my work a lot lighter. However, there's an issue it doesn't work on word. It only spell and grammar check, which the word already has and no need it. It would be use full if the AI mode works on word too. To use this I have to open the web version copy and past back and forth. Which is a great hassle. If not for this issue a clear 5 star app.
Why can't I hide the new Summarize button? Basically I love Linguix but there are some bugs always and I wonder why the developer doesn't check bugs before publishing. Edit: After I posted this, they added the option which is able to switch displaying the summery button, but soon this feature vanished. Still, there are a few fixable bugs and they're completely noticeable if they've actually tested before releasing.
I would say this is a very nice extension, but I would like for this extension to reduce promoting the pro or the other one. Overall the experience is great but I recommend it to have more access ability for those who are using the free version I am a bit dissatisfied that you can't access much as a person who is using it for free. :(
very useful!
There seem to be no updates on actual grammar issues. Some new features, yes. Rephrasing tools and whatnot. But nothing happens on the grammar side of things. There are a lot of shortcomings, missing words, wrong corrections, massive troubles with corrections and where they are placed in a text. You'll often garble your text. If there is an AI at work, it was trained once and then stopped learning. There is no way to comfortably report bugs. Like, none. Grammarly is a decade ahead on that.
I'm sorry but I had to update my review (I've left my 5* Review Below), recently the updates have been bad, it was working perfectly fine before. You can write a sentence that is directed at a person but linguix suggestions will give you a response as if you are speaking to a third person or as if it's answering back to a question as if your sentence was a question for linguix. +++++++ Previous Review: Linguix at this moment for me is the best alternative in terms of price. Testing the product I can say improvements are required, but I believe this will occur as the product continues to mature. Out of all the add-ons Linguix provides, the Chrome extension is by far superior. This product has been helpful for grammar and sentence rephrasing. It was great to come across this alternative tool to "G...."
Will block some forums content display such as https://www.right.com.cn/forum/thread-8276221-1-1.html,please fix it.
Not so much of a Review but more of a general observation... I am skeptical of all of the 5 star reviews that mention how exceptional this extension is compared to (specifically) the Grammerly extension. I have been using Grammerly on & off for years (the 'off' periods because sometimes I find it to be basic) and I just added this extension to see for myself as I'm horrible when it comes to writing. I will update my review after a trial period.
Pretty good, but for some reason I can no longer use it with google docs. When I go on google docs with the extension activated it loads for an absurdly long time then crashes. If I disable linguix it begins working again. Wondering if theres a good fix for this issue, i've tried several things such as removing from chrome and redownloading.
It would be better if it intelligently ignored some words like username starting with @ eg @username_subtext. Otherwise I find it great alternative to Grammarly.
EDIT: Copilot is buddy may be intentionally, it will always show up despite being turned off. Expert says, Linguix the best alternative to Grammarly. I say the Linguix has no alternatives at all. I love Linguix, the team feature and this is also a very cost effective solution.
I gave 3 stars because it's a good alternative to Grammarly but it needs a lot of improvements.
Great for Americans. Sucks if you don't want to talk 'American'. I have a paid version, and months ago submitted a bug report that explained that although I chose English GB for both my writing and my native language, it still suggests american spelling. Since I had a lifetime paid account with them, I figured I'd hold on for them to fix it. Alas, they don't care and it's never been fixed the problem persisted on all my machines until I finally gave up today and re-purchased an annual subscription to Grammarly which worked immediately. Note to Linguix, please remember there's a world out there - not just Americans. Also, you promised to have plagiarism checking months ago, but again, nothing has happened here. Grammarly has that as well. I gave it three stars, because although I feel like I wasted my money, truthfully, there are many other things to like about the software. If you're in the US and don't need a plagiarism checker, then it's a decent product.
Overall it doesn't catch as many errors as I'd like, but biggest issue is (Even writing this form) it isn't able to identify all text fields and help with them. Would love to be able to take advantage of snippets in all form fields.
I like this quite a lot and have been using in place for grammarly for a little while. However it has now dawned on me that this is crippled to only check 10 text fields a day, and so therefore hasn't been spell checking my work as I had thought. They want to you sign up in order to get more use out of the extension, which grammarly doesn't require you to do. I'm switching back to grammarly.
I have repeated connection issues and freezing app-site in google Chrome. Further the rules on comma placement are so neglected that I can't sell a text, when relying on Linguix. Such does not inspire me to go for the paid version.
