Aurora: New Tab & Bookmark Manager

Lost all my bookmarks and the dashboard does not show the featured bookmarks. Not cool. Uninstalled it.

Needs scroll bars. Needs ability to add user backgrounds. Need to add Google Search page as default. Remove the focus on Browsing History and put it back on Bookmark Organization. Add Import and Export of Bookmarks from Bookmarks Bar, files, and other accounts. .

Ultra difficult to place bookmarks on the descktop. I delete it, cant do it:( Lost 30 min to figure it out but not working!

Still not better than the long-dead Papaly. Papaly has it's problems, and is a little buggy, but when you have it setup the way you need, it runs fine enough. Still, I want an app with a few extra features. Aurora's weather and rotating images are a nice touch, but it all lands short in a few ways. Reasons: -No login, so you can't recreate your setup on another machine -No customizable icons -No shared boards -No ability to disable parts of the main navigation users don't need. A link to my calendar and tasks? No thanks, can we put that out of view with an option to the user?

Doesnt work on Brave browser. It doesnt recognize the other bookmarks folder.

Wallpapers don't work after a restart - literally black screen. Can't customize bookmark initials or favicon. Can't use Chrome links like chrome://settings as a bookmark - it just opens about:blank. Weather doesn't work at all. History is just empty.

For some reason this plugin can't be activated and in Chrome extensions is a warning that this plugin can be damaged. Too bad since it looks as a very promising productivity tool. :/

the app itself is beautiful, but I wonder... giving permission to read and write your personal info at websites like https://ipinfo.io/ which is - and I quote "With IPinfo, you can pinpoint your users’ locations, customize their experiences, prevent fraud, ensure compliance, and so much more." I am sorry, but I removed the app.

Worst thing ever. Cant see my bookmarks from bookmark bar, cant have them without folders, not good. Have to move them all into folders, will take a hole life. Need a bookmark app, where it can sort my bookmarka and move them automaticly. Thought it was the thing after the Chrome extension is discontinued on the 15. of august 2018, but no, this is not the one.

I like it and use it frequently...but it refuses to keep my background settings. It doesn't matter if I create a background with Unsplash or link to my own image, the setting will simply disappear a few hours later. Frustrating.

From a visual perspective, Aurora is one of the slickest New Tab I have ever seen in the minimalist style. Beside, unlike most, this one is completely free. Unfortunately, it comes with some heavy downsides, both technically and practically. – Incredibly massive RAM usage. (We're talking about 500 MB of RAM at peak when it's not even open, and at least 150 otherwise. I suspect that it's related to the Bookmarks tool it comes with – so if you have thousands of bookmarks, you might want to look elsewhere. – Speaking of bookmarks, that's actually a restrictive point of Aurora. To be fully compatible with your bookmarks, you need to organize them in a given way. – No widgets. You can link it with Google Keep and Agenda though, but it will open them in a popup window rather than being integrated in Aurora. All in all, I really wanted to like this extension, but there are too many issues for the time being. Hopefully, it will evolve to fix them (at least the performance side…) in the future.

Good idea but no way to search or filter bookmarks, without that I probably won't continue to use it. It has browser history which is good but having closed tab history and tab restoration (with navigation history) would be more useful. I use a Toodledo Android app/web page (https://www.toodledo.com/) for to do as its more powerful, that isn't supported.

The function with the bookmarks is somewhat awkward solved. But otherwise the rest is ok.

I like the look of Aurora. Has a good feel to it but there is one critical feature missing. None of my "531 uncategorised bookmarks in the main folder" show up unless I go into Edit Bookmarks. I don't want to go into Edit Bookmarks to be able to find any of them. I want to search, find and use a bookmark immediately the Bookmarks page is opened. It is possible to do all this and very quickly after going into Edit Bookmarks but the point is that the main Bookmarks page in Aurora should show all Bookmarks and provide a Search field immediately, and not under a related activity called Edit which is not needing to be done.

It's beautiful but slow. It takes about 2 seconds to load page with bookmarks.

Looks promising but... - Weather doesn't work (in v1.2.7 at least) - Can't change search provider - Can't customize favicons or drag and drop adjust order - Calendar tab with Google or Microsoft calendar integration would be nice - Way to toggle a next photo background would also be nice

I really like the concept except that: 1 - You can't hide/show bookmarks, history, app and notes 2 - Weather does not work for me 3 - Basic formatting for notes would be nice 4 - Calendar integration missing 5 - It would be nice to have a background photo reference

Latest version of this extension does not work, atleast not for me. Looked around for an older version 1.1.8 seems to work. In all, the extension is good if you can get it to work.

not bad, it's one of the better extensions I've used, just wish it had a more customizable speed dial option.

Nice design, good overview Bookmarks are loaded very slowly everytime I open a blank tab. Needs better bookmark manager for creating folders, sorting. Drag and drop feature. Adjustable icon size and font size, custom icons. Weather on bookmarks page.

I love this extension but unfortunately for me It doesn't work fully, no fault of your own. In Vivaldi, bookmarks are probably stored elsewhere than from chrome because I try to create a folder in "Other bookmarks" to get the bookmarks onto aurora, it doesn't recognize them. If I could manually choose where one gets the bookmarks from, I beleive this extension could work in vivaldi. If it did, this would be my go to new tab page for sure, but for now I'm off to find another soon.

It can't load full of a long bookmark list... Kinda disappointed.

One of the best, but hard to configure. Bookmarks Page says, "To get started, simply click on Edit Boards." But then no instructions on what to do next, leaving this page useless.
