Pretty much anything you want to do costs credits, and that needs to be clearly stated upfront. I spent time setting everything up, clicked through the steps, and only at the end found out I had 100 credits when the feature I needed costs 5,000. Thatβs not a small gap, it makes the whole setup feel like wasted time. I get that paid plans are normal, but donβt hide the real credit requirements until the finish line. Itβs frustrating and honestly feels ridiculous.
Doesn't work for me anymore - awful latest update. Used to be very good extension, now getting some nonsense results. I used to use it on websites that pre-select who can login so I even if I name them it won't be useful.
This used to be a simple, easy to use and reliable extension. The update has made it needlessly complicated and less useful. I'm seriously looking for a replacement. Totally disappointing.
Please add an option to return to the 1.0 version, the new layout is unusable for me.
Several major problems that prevent this being usable. 1. For dynamically loading pages, it only loads the fields you have initially specified. So for example, you tell it to get the title field of a card? Then hit a "load more" button to show more cards? It will scrape only the title fields of the cards that were initially on the page. 2. I can't open a page and load a recipe to run on that page. The recipes can only be from the control panel without opening up the page, which is just...? 3. There's no way to delete my account from SimpleScraper. I can only log out. I will edit this review if I find a better alternative. Update: the EasyScraper extension is much easier to work with, although it doesn't address any of the above drawbacks.
Installed extension. Does not work. Click the extension, nothing happens.
Absolutely nothing works.
not free?
This scraper is advertised as free, but certain features, which are NOT clearly identified upfront, require a paid subscription to use on an ongoing basis. For me, that became clear only after I spent a ton of time figuring out how to use it, which was hard and frustrating. I find this highly misleading and would not recommend this scraper.
not Working !!
Fast but does not work for dynamic content scraping and pagination with fixed numbers... better to tell it on the description. Asked to pay but few features to try out.
Need more time to align data after scraping. Also, calling it free in the title is misleading!
Doesn't look at all Simple like the images on the net convey. It would help if the results were halfway like the examples.
Don't work on deep scraping. Cells are not well aligned when some values are missing. Do come back to revise the review when such features are enhanced.
Does nothing. installed click scrape page and nothing happens.
only 50 pages possible to scrap.
The tool is offered "Free". Then you spend time in learning how to set it up only afterwards to learn that- hey it's actually not free at all. Yeah, the tool is free, however actually using the tool isn't at all. That's just such a lousy, scammy practice. Avoid.
This is just useful to try 'Simple scraper'. if you just need a scapter some times per month in a useful way, Simple scraper costs 420$ per year.
Sometimes clicking view results will open 14 tabs for the same results page! Does not work for dynamic tables generated in React - only for static html. I cannot scrape titles AND links from some sites like the Hacker News tutorial portrays as automatic.
Poorly handle new pages. Good for single page extractions, but there are better ones out there. And you need to sign in.
Not very intuitive. Only good for basic stuff. Too complicated to learn to use properly. Please improve your UX
Often cannot select fields even though the row right next to it can be selected just fine and when the data is printed out, there's weird symbols in it that don't match with what's on the website
works for simple pages, but torturous when slightly complicated tasks.
If it wasn't advertised as free, I'd give it 4-5 stars because it works extremely well. You get 100 credits to start learning and once you use them, your balance of remaining credits remains at zero which means everything you set up will not work again unless you subscribe. The cheapest tier is $35/month or over $400/year. Far from free. I'd increase the rating if they offered a limited entry tier @ $5/month.
Your extension has a bug bru . tryng to scrape on the myaccounts google page This document requires 'TrustedHTML' assignment. on dev console. Tried looking for a fix can;t find one
I would like recommend Agenty. The tool is not good at deep scraping.
can not scrap more than 1 page
good for simple structured list scraping, not working for deep scraping, or scraping fields with content after clicking
At least provide us with the old version extension file, which we can install locally to use - for websites where the updated version is not working.
Please revert the update. The previous version had an option for manual CSS and href attribute selection which prevented overfetching . Now the data is too much and hard to parse .
Good tool but you have to push "show" more about 800 times (takes about 3 hrs of manual work per scrape) this is on the paid version as well. Best Tool I know out there but you would need to pay monthly then hire VA or push Show more for hours since their tool doesn't work well and their support is late to get back and doesn't fix things quickly or at all.
good one, but deep scraping is not free.
OK
I do really like it. But calling it free in the title is misleading.
quite good
The extension is good, but you can't scrape hrefs and you have to pay in order to save more than one recipe. Nice for simple one time scrapes.
Didn't work for the data I was trying to scrape but I don't doubt it could be useful for other pages
