Its free, but export to pdf doesnt work.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to change my review. First, be aware all the reviews here are skewed as the tool demands a positive review before you can use it. Now that I have had the opportunity to use wizardshot it did not function well. When editing it crashed several times, randomly reordered my flow on it's own, would not download in word format, and many editing features did not work or only partially worked. This tool might be fin for a hobbiest but not for a consultant working with businesses. It's free so that got it an extra star from me. I guess you get what you pay for.
cannot export images via pdf....
After using it for a while, I reaslised that the exports eigher do not export images, or the ones that do export, do not show where the mouse was when the screen was clicked. Unfortunatly I have had to update my review, not usable. Sorry..
Has potential but lots of bugs. I'd rather use scribehow paid plans. Will check back later and see if it improves. One thing I dislike is that it does not allow editing of the 'Click Here' tag.
When it works is great tool however on multiple occasions while signed it Wizard shot losses my entire tutorial after I've completed going through all the steps. Meaning I have to start all over from the begging. This happens about 50% of the time when I use the tool :(
Had to change my review after a day trying to make the export work. Looks good but nothing works as expected. Export to PDF errors out Export to HTML straight up doesn't even click Export to DOC created a docx file but screenshots are fully zoomed out and the pointer is not in the correct place. Uninstalled
Only shows one tab but still good if you have a monolithic platform
It's pretty intuitive, loads fast and is free and that's why the tool gets 3.5 out of 5 for me. I'm testing it as I write this and have found that when it works, it looks great, but so far only works for short SOPs, if it takes more than a few minutes, it just stops working and I have to start again. Also works great if you have no identifying or confidential information in the SOP as blurring it while creating the SOP is very buggy. Sure, you can edit the pictures later on and add shapes like rectangles on top of the SOP pictures, but that adds time and does not guarantee that the original picture with the information you just covered won't live somewhere in a server. At the same time, have issues with: 1. The fact that the default privacy setting is set to PUBLIC (meaning it is even searchable by Google). 2. It asks us to leave a review to get rid of branding. 3. As said above, the blurring tool is buggy. NOTE: I understand this is a free tool that is attached to their HelpJuice platform and instead of making it internal, they made it available to the public. I'm not sure if they have plans of having this as a standalone, paid product in the future, but taking into account this is free, I'd be willing to pay a few bucks a month for them to spend time to work on the bugs and make this the best tool in their category (which I honestly believe they could).
Very easy to use but i'm having a difficult time exporting. The wheel keeps spinning when I select pdf or doc and an export never happens. And it absolutely will not let me export in html. If I can get export to work I can give this product 5 stars.
Testing it
Terribly buggy, I'm not even sure half of the reviews here are real. When I first logged in and created my first tutorial, it added a bunch of extra pages from other tabs I had open, even though I’d only selected one. You can remove them, but it’s still a faff. Then, out of around 15 slides I made, 6 had errors with the screenshots not saving properly. That meant I couldn’t fix them and had to start over. On my second attempt, it worked a bit better, the images saved, but when I clicked "end" to finish and save the tutorial, it logged me out and didn’t save anything. Third time round, I waited patiently for every page to fully load before clicking through. This time the images saved, but when I tried exporting to PDF, it only showed the text and none of the screenshots. Totally useless for document creation. If you're only using it to share a link, it might be okay, especially as a free tool, but you need to double check everything. It doesn’t look as polished as Scribe, and while it has potential, it's just really buggy right now. Exporting especially is horrendous. As a proper documentation tool, I couldn’t rely on it at all. I know that once they go over these issues it can be a great platform, so it's still worth giving it a go yourself, but currently since you can't export you might as well use Scribe for now until they fix the issue.
So far, it seems all right. Fairly intuitive. It would be nice if the blurring could be done to the images after capturing as well in case something was missed. Editing the images afterwards moves where the click indicator is so not as useful.
Seems to work fine for my needs
You're forced to leave a review to remove branding. I am having mixed luck with the app so far, but will continue to work with it to see if I can make it meet our needs. The extension is hit or miss, and I've been required to restart my browser a few times to get it working.
Is a great replacement for scribe how, but requires you to leave a review to remove branding, so take these with a grain of salt.
