McAfee® Web Boost

It won't turn off? I un-installed it, turned it off in the app yet it KEEPS blocking EVERY page I go to. I can't go to ANY page it just automatically blocks it. I am at the point where I'm blocking the app and deleting everything associated with it. Poorly made.

this extention deletes all my other extentions when i restart my pc. ITS HORRIBLE

It does nothing apart from collecting and harvesting user data

This thing keeps adding itself to my extension whenever added a new profile on Chrome for whatever reason

It just modifies your default search engine. When you are browsing the web an annoying bar appears below the adressbar and is gone in a few seconds. What is fricking annoying if you want to press an button on an website and the button shifts down.

when i am using microsoft team This program freezes my picture while in a meeting.

tHIS APP PLACED AN AD FOR THEIR SOFTWARE ON MY SCREEN. THERE WAS NO X OR CLOSE BUTTON. USING TASK MANAGER TO KILL THIS APP CAUSED IT TO REBOOT THE SAME AD. THIS IS 100% UNDENIABLY ADWARE, WHICH IS IRONIC GIVEN IT'S MCAFEE. DELETE THIS FROM YOUR APP STORE, AND STOP SUPPORTING MCAFEE PRODUCTS. THAT'S THE ONLY THING T0 DO. ALTHOUGH I KNOW GOOGLE IS MORE GREEDY THAN SENSIBLE -_-

Never stopped video from loading just pauses them, usually after the video has started a few seconds Now today websights are constantly switching it off so basically it has become worthless.

This thing is a buggy pop up ad generator for McAfee. It came pre-installed on my laptop and I haven't been able to get rid of it since. Literally a virus produced by dell. 0/5

Annoying with blocking of embedded video

This is really good for checking websites and trusted sites, but there is no setting for if it can change your search engine to Yahoo, and I HATE it. Every week I open Chrome, and it is set a Yahoo for no reason, and I have to change it back in the settings every time. At this point, I uninstalled it.

Whenever Chrome is updated the Auto-Play setting resets to OFF! So annoying to have to turn the setting back on!!!!

As of May 2022, this extension isn't working on Chrome or Edge. Videos are playing as normal. This is a shame up until recently it worked pretty well, sometimes only needed a refresh to prevent videos playing. Please fix it!

Every time the extension stops a video and you want to restart it, the audio start, but the video itself disappears. It's impossible to watch a news video with this.

Ever since I downloaded this my web experience has been so much slower to load pages and it has messed with watching movies.

Before this extension worked very well, it let me know what websites were safe and were not, it would block downloads that seemed to be viruses, it wasnt until recently (after april 2023) that the extension started to slow down my browser, keep in mind that I have a very good gaming pc and I had plenty of ram storage free (I have 16gb ram and was running other minor applications such as spotify, steam, ext). I know my pc is not the issue with this and it is this extension because I turned it off and my browser is perfectly fine now, but I wish mcafee could sort this issue out as this extension is very good when it doesn't slow down my browser.

It does not stop videos on LinkedIn for some reason.

I'm still using it, and it's working fine on most sites EXCEPT for Fox News! Their annoying videos on top of articles play every single time. Also, I don't like the notification that McAfee blocked a video from playing every time it does. Please get rid of that and I will change my rating.

when in first started adding this extension i loved it! but then i played roblox and it kept saying an error when that never happens

It stops auto run videos just fine... But when I click on a video that is not running to PLAY IT, it should NOT STOP that video...!!

It's aggressive in PAUSING any streaming video (like background videos on a page, or Google Hangouts) AFTER it starts to play - it doesn't prevent them from starting in the first place.
