AI Detector and Human Writing Report - Originality.ai

I am giving this is a 1 star because it broke several MBA admissions websites on my chrome browser and I had to write to admissions offices technical teams to address this. For instance, this extension broke the websites at https://apply.chicagobooth.edu/ and https://grad-admissions.wharton.upenn.edu/. So, great on originality, but very poor on execution. I have no idea if you injecting some stuff into these critical websites and why-which raises further ethical concerns for this extension as well. For developers, by break I mean I am not able to fill in anything on the sites I mentioned. It means the sites were completely useless. As long as I have extension installed, I only get this error: "One or more fields contains incorrectly-formatted data: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: g".

you guys are one of the worst, I'm subscribed to you thinking that you may help me detect ai work, but after doing my own work it flags it as ai, it doesn't make any sense. my hard working essays are still flagged RED, this isn't acceptable.

Wants Login Data with Account. Email fishing? So it doesnt work for me..... simple and easy.

Installed, uninstalled and reinstalled and then uninstalled as this doesn't work. As other reviewers have menitoned you get an "Invalid API Key" message.

This tool doesn't work. I received an invalid API key error, a report with a blank score with no information, and an error message on the website saying it couldn't scan the text. Disappointing.

I find that a lot of potential on this extension is wasted: 1. Team members doesn't work, you have to forcefully link with your main account 2. You have to forcefully test both AI and Duplicate content. It would be great to have a selector on one or another or the two. 3. No incremental checks for Google Docs. You have to keep checking everything which is a massive waste of credits. 4. They simply analyze Google Docs revision to show changes over the time (to demonstrate if there have been massive copy-pastes. We must assume that this is an indicator of originality, but one could simple type anothers content, or AI content and after all generate an AI result fully type, which doesn't make any sense. In reality this is not a real AI checker other than the text checker itself that they provide on their site, nothing really special and a lot of hassle that consumes A TON of credits. If they could use some incremental tests to assess the degree of AI-ness that the content is acquiring it would be really interesting. I've seen a lot of writters that simply write in a certain form, and they end with massive AI numbers. A tool like this could assess them why they have an AI writting style and how to sort it a little bit. But it doesn't deliver well unfortunatelly.

I've installed the application 3 times and it never works. I get an error message written with a typo. I contacted the hotline and was referred to a video presentation. I reported the problem again and never got a reply. Don't waste your time and look elsewhere.

First of all, I mean clearly all of the 5 star reviews here are fake, considering they all HAPPEN to be posted around the same time (late February-March of 2023). I mean, come on if you're going to post fake reviews, at least be less obvious about it and do it over a period of time. The "free credits" are not free, you have to pay for a membership first. This is unreliable technology that is threatening the livelihood of writers with results that are not dependable and not based on any scientific processes. AI is new to everyone and everything and to claim to already have some kind of magic method for detecting AI content when it is completely new technology is absolutely absurd and unethical.

The Originality.ai Chrome extension icon cannot be hidden when you want to print or read a webpage. It blocks words on the webpage and you have to scroll up or down a page to read its content. The Chrome extension's icon blocks words/content when you print the webpage, too. This very annoying feature is the reason I am deleting the extension.

False advertising and utterly useless. Avoid this and don't give them your email. It's all a scam

Not free. You need to purchase more credits before they will scan your content. Waste of time.

Not free as advertised and when you pay for the service, it produces absolutely random results. I can paste in the same text for checking and get scores ranging from 0% to 89% with NO CHANGES to the text. Just as good as shaking a magic 8 ball.

It is pretty much the worst tool ever. You cannot always use a conversational and cent per cent informal tone for every writing piece. Even a hint of passive voice or formal language, this tool marks it all red as if someone has been murdered on that AI scanning screen. There's a thin line between being accurate and annoying, kindly work on that. (Why I am using it: my clients are obsessed with this tool but want a formal tone so congrats for making my life hell).

The GDocs extension is AWFUL. Slow, takes credits when it doesn't complete scans, and gives inaccurate scores (i.e., I wrote an article, manually and got a 66% human score, but when I put it in the Orginality.AI website, it says 98% human) C'mon guys, it feels like you pushed this out without actually caring if it works. Do better.

The "free trial" isn't even enough to scan a single article since each "credit" isn't per run. So basically it is impossible to test this out without paying for it.

Not sure if it works since it keeps asking me to log in after trying 5 times...

If you write in Spanish, be prepared to receive lots of false positives and waste HOURS OF LIFE trying to rewrite.

Why do you guys have to put that stupid tab on the right side of the viewport? Is it not enough that the icon is on the toolbar? You have to force us to see your icon over the page and not give us an option to remove it or move it?

I appreciate the user-friendly interface. It's insanely simple and easy to use but gives you detailed reports. I want to test it out further, but so far, the reports page and writing playback are my favorite parts!

I cannot get it to work, just spins and spins and spins and nothing happens

The results are not accurate. A content written by Jasper showed 20% AI, but another one written by a human showed 99% fake. I don't know how does it calculates.
