cannot edit small documents over 10 mb. Useless

It does not modify the original file, it creates a copy in the "zoho" format. I can keep using googe docs for that.

I have lost three documents. Not a clue what or why. Working and then gone. sad. I as really hopeful for the integration to be better. Mail is literally unusable, circa 1989

Horrible!!!

You should heed the few people who experienced the same problems wit this app. DO NOT use it as an alternative to Google Docs, it ate my multi-page documents and did not save a single version of them OR the orignal copies. You can't even leave anything open on your desktop because it will end up displaying an error message. This just isn't worth the hassle of having to re-do entire assignments.

It saves only links. You cannot edit your files off-line.

No columns.

Coudln't even get to an editor. Just saw ads

I couldn't do anything but security. It wasn't working for me, but for others it was great. So don't only read mine.

HORRIBLE I was up late essentially rewriting a paper that I had a draft for, saving it constantly as I worked, and then the app said that it needed to update and I did and it reverted my file back to the original content. USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK

Unable to EVEN SET UP AN ACCOUNT GETTING PAST RANDOM LETTERS REQUIRED TO SETUP ACCOUNT. EACH TIME I ENTERED LETTERS I WAS DENIED ACCESS! THEREFORE NOT WORTH MY EFFORT

Zoho writer lost a document I was working on. Back-up goes all the way back to the first character I typed. Will not use this again, obviously.

Just too unpredictable...have had a number of hiccups and lockups that caused me to have to restart my Chromebook, but each time nearly all my edits were saved...and kind of runs against the grain of the whole cloud notion...I got caught in a sign in loop for one doc I have been working on for 5+hours...can't get into it and the version stored in my Google Drive will not open with any other app. Sucks!!!

Can't get rid of this app - it continues to show as connected even after it's removed. How do I get rid of it??

This is horrible. You can upload a MS Word document and edit it, then you can't get it out of Zoho. What's the point? All of the print, copy/paste and export options result in a completely corrupt and unreadable file. It freezes constantly on virtually every attempt to use it. This program is no good. Stay away.

I recently downloaded Zoho Writer as well as a number of other text crunchers, with an eye toward writing a comprehensive review of Chrome Cloud based word processors, as well finding a rock solid, capable program for my own use. At first it seemed as if Zoho would be the clear leader in my analysis, but then, not once, but twice in as many days, Zoho ate multi-page documents, leaving not even a bread crumb trail behind. In both instances “Saved” documents collapsed into an error screen, only to be replaced by a few random words. Closing Zoho and re-opening the docs accomplished nothing. Zoho’s crash had destroyed not only my most recent document changes, but also the saved original. Sorry Zoho. Your program looks good, but needs serous stability improvements. Gain 4 stars for style and features, lose 3 stars for poor stability and document eating. Remainder: 1 star. My System: A late model 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 27” iMac, 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory, 8 TB of available hard drives comprising internal and external RAID, using OSX 10.8.3 and Google Chrome Version 26.0.1410.65. A true ecumenist, I also use an iPad and an Android Sony TL.

Nothing works... the format brush, the font colour changer, the font changer...

not as good as google docs, too much hassle. when you want to work on a document it converts it to a .zdoc... why... you're better off without it. openoffice is better. microsoft office is better. google docs is better.

Most dumb word editor I ever seen - I can't input any diacritics, for which I need ALT+<symbol> ,e.g. ALT+A for Ā

lack a lot of options

I thought it was pretty good, I had been working on an article and left it there when I left home for a while. When I came back there was an error and now when I try to open my document it only leads me to this page so I can rate it. There's a bad user interface, improve that, and you'll get five stars.

Very slow response. Not very good if your in a rush and you have to keep checking if you have typed correctly!

I've been using Zoho for personal and professional work for several weeks now. At first, I really liked it, but now I've switched back to plain old google docs. Zoho keeps giving me error messages every other day, saying that my documents have been deleted. After a complaint email, my documents come back 15 minutes to an hour later. Their support is nice, but having a heart attack every other day about missing documents is not. Zoho is fun, but I find it untrustworthy in the long run. My advice, don't put anything on it you can't live without.

It's slow compared to Google Docs and doesn't make up for the inconvenience with sufficient extra features.

A lot of lag when you are able to touch type at +40 words a minute. Needed to wait for the screen to catch up. Not a network issue as Google Docs kept up with no lag. Good effort, but didn't really offer me anything substantial over Google Docs...and even Google Docs has limitations.
