Simple Gmail Notes

I'm also getting the "Error found with the existing token. Please try to connect again. If error persists, you may try to manually revoke previous tokens first." The extension’s Google Drive login is failing because the OAuth client appears to be invalid or no longer approved by Google. The developer needs to create or re-enable a Google Cloud OAuth client, pass Google’s verification for Drive scopes, update the extension with the new client ID, and publish an updated version.

I have used this for several years and been a big fan but recently there are issues. I am now unable to gain access as it asks me to log into Google Drive. When I do I then get this message in the notes section 'Error found with the existing token. Please try to connect again. If error persists, you may try to manually revoke previous tokens first.' After a lot of troubleshooting it seems the error is because the OAuth client is invalid.

The recent update completely messed up the layout. When I open my email, the subject line shifts downward, and the notes section moves to the bottom, breaking the formatting and making it harder to use. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and even changing the Gmail settings (removing all AI and other add-ons). After reinstalling and logging in to the Gmail app, it displays correctly at first, but as soon as I read another email or refresh the window, the subject line and notes move out of place again. This wasn't happening before the update.

A week ago I might have given five stars, but it quit working a few days ago. I did something to bring it back before I got a reply from the help email. Now it's off again, I can't remember what I did and I can't find the email. I have done exactly what Walty Yeung suggested. Still no help. I certainly am NOT going to pay for support! The add-on should work on a fully updated system, Windows 11 and Vivaldi both without support. BTW many of the Bart Solutions web pages don't seem to function correctly. I can only see the opening page with no way to scroll down to see relevant information.

It crash-blocks Gmail. It used to work fine but now I cannot even click anywhere on a Gmail page. Unresponsive.

Buggy- Im regretting this already. Please fix the bugs and glitches Better support is needed.

Like ransom... This morning... no notes. restarted gmail. These whizbangs thought that it was a good idea to cripple my gmail with a blocking ad that locked me out of my gmail account in a effort to force a paid subscription. I do not mind paying for a valuable service but blackmail is out. I have unloaded and reported it.

I cannot cancel the credit card fee they keep charging me each year, several years running, despite me asking them to. They are based on Hong Kong and don't seem to have good customer (or any service.

support is extremely hard to find, and the unsubscribe / downgrade plan button does NOT exist. I had to change my credit card to a virtual CC that I cancelled to unsubscribe. Terrible user experience.

Great idea but support is completely lacking - I subscribed to the app becuse I thought this was a great idea. However, every time I try to reach out I get an error message. I try to look up my account --- error message. Completely useless if I can't get support.

Good, but now getting spammed to also use Simple Mobile CRM - same company trying to force people to use other products for the spam to go away = totally unacceptable behavior?

It has started giving notifications to upgrade all the time in the Gmail inbox area. Absolutely hate that! I will disable and remove within 30 days if this is not changed. I will not be a paid subscriber, but free users shouldn't be forced to see your ads on the right of Gmail all the time.

How can there be a subscription option for anything that's OPEN SOURCE? I thought that was the whole point of open source.....everyone contributes to its development, but no one profits from it? What am I missing?

I have used this extension for over a year and love it. Then they updated it and added ads for their other products to every gmail message. That is not OK.

I've been a longtime user of this extension, which I use all the time and have found to be super useful. But the developer is trying to pressure users into a paid subscription just to receive support for this otherwise 'free' extension. So now I open an email to randomly find intrusive ads covering half of the email body (NOT as described above) leaving me unable to read my email several times a week, and free or not that is just ridiculous!

I love the notes on gmail, they are really helpful, but I leave one star until there is no way of removing the ´Simple Mobile CRM´ column. That column takes a lot of space in gmail and even if I manage to get rid of it, then it comes back.

This extension inserts ads for the developers' other products into your Gmail window. I uninstalled immediately when this occurred. I use all manner of adblock on Chrome to avoid ads and I will not use extensions that show me even more ads.

I cant cancel the plan, still need to pay. Cant find the way to cancel the plan.

Unfortunately my installation on my Chromebook will not log into my Account, I get the error: Failed to login: Authorization page could not be loaded. The browser is up-to-date (18.0.4044.94) It works fine on my Windows 10 computer, which I do not use because it is old and slow, like me :)

Be forewarned... I used Simple Gmail Notes for some time before my hard drive failed. It was only then that I found out all of my important notes were gone forever. What a disappointment to learn that my notes couldn't be restored from a backup. If you don't mind losing all of your notes if your computer fails give this one a try. If you are looking for a note taking app that you can count on, look elsewhere.

Never worked, Cant get rid of it now

Inststalled, restarted browser. Looked everywhere in GMail and no option to add notes. Checked the details about this plug in and it seems to have no obvious instructions telling me where the notes should appear.

Apart of good general idea (somewhat worth a second star) - little positive can be said about this extension, as it is very unreliable. After about a week of usage (following the constantly problematic login stage), it has become totally corrupted - creating multiple identically entitled files with different note content for the same emails, then getting confused in between them (with nice note background color blinking in result while it's trying to activate one note version, then getting off, then activating another note version and so on) and finally - unable to even store a new note correctly but trying to apply the last entered note to any other activated email and so losing the previously entered note, and some other inconsistencies alike. I've spent a whole day trying to correct the aforementioned with a help of Google AI, but we together still couldn't find any consequent way to at least clearly diagnose the case and the more - to find any reliable solution. This rather isn't even a Beta stage app but closer to an initial Alpha v.0 or otherwise said - barely working one.

The products is good (simple and straight forward). However, the ads are pretty annoying. I am already looking for other options, simply for the annoyance of all the ads popping up.

Hi, I have always loved and used this app. Unfortunately, fof some time now, everytime I click onto an email page (I have four), a largish white box appears with a blue header pops up, telling me about the app....not something I used to have. It has now become beyond irritating and I do not know where to report it or what to do to eliminate it.

When they changed it to require my Google account log in information, I had to remove it. I don't give strangers my log-in data. Derp.

Failed to log-in... any fix? I really like to try this out.

they forcing and pushing averytime the user vota ( and like every others, in this manicheist world, 5stars...or 1...i'm like a salmon swiming against water direction). So i have not time to try app, but this continuated pushing, like pushers, upset me and my general vote is 2 stars, but when i will have checked app properly i will vote again)

I was hoping it would allow multiple notes (by different people) on one email, but it appears to be one note only.

No matter how many times I REFRESH or close the tab or reset the extension, it NEVER works regularly....like 10% of the time...making it more frustrating than useful. When/if it works it is amazing, but most of the time it doesn't.

Decent app but it constantly hits you up to purchase it. I might delete it just for that reason.

App is great on the website, but you have to pay a $4.99/mo subscription to a 3rd party app in order to view notes in the official Gmail mobile app. That really sucks.

Really like the concept, would love more formatting options (bold, italics, etc). Would also like to be able to add hyperlinks to text. A great start!

Please make the "Simple Gmail Notes" search button more accessible .... Not easy to get to the search; GMAIL's native search will not find notes made with this extension... therefore you must use "simple gmail notes" custom search function, but it is difficult to access the custom search widget. Please make the "Simple Gmail Notes" search button more accessible from all pages (inbox / gmail search / trash) etc, by placing the search button right by Gmails Native search bar Also, please make your notes email specific (instead of applying the notes to the whole conversation)

Has good options and it is easy to use but I would love to see a feature that automatically adds all notes to a notes label to make it easy to find emails with a note. The only way to do this is to manually add the email to a "notes" folder for every email.

I have been using this extension for a few years now but now they are starting to nag you to start paying. Its annoying. I don't use it very often but when I do it's nice to be able to make a note but to be honest to have to start paying for what little I use it's not worth putting up with the annoying reminders to pay. I will be looking for an alternative.

It was great until it recently started adding ads to my emails.

edit: I change my rating from 2 to 3 stars because the customer service honestly tried to solve the problem I describe below - yet the problem is still there and still very annoying - sadly there is no other serious alternative out there, so I guess I am stuck with that used to work fine - now it turns off and on again and again messing up with Gmail - really annoying - I tried uninstalling/reinstalling, yet nothing - pls fix it

It's fine, just need a little more fine tuning. The more text you add, the longer it takes to load, searching for notes was fine at first, until I wasn't able to do it anymore, even my most recent notes - If these bugs can be fixed, then I'd bump up a star, thanks.

Having a Problem when printing. Personal notes written in for my last email note are showing up in new non-related email pages that need to be printed. Tried signing out of Simple Notes, refreshing, & logging out and back into my email. But Not Working- NO GOOD!!! My notes must remain confidential so it's pointless if they show up on print outs of OTHER emails. Wish there was an ON / OFF view setting or something when printing. SAD :(

Had to down rate it because it now considerably slows down gmail! It takes forever to simply scroll up and down my inbox and even longer to open emails. Too bad....I liked the idea.

When it works it's great but often doesn't allow me to type, and have to close and reopen email multiple times to write a note. Develope is slow to respond and not resolved.

I have been using this extension every day for work, and it worked fine, however just recently started crashing more and more often. It is very frustrating, to have to log our and in few times a day for it to be working. Ultimately I uninstalled it and changed the provider.
