I revisited that extension today after several years of using LanguageTool, because that latter is becoming for paying Premium only. Sadly, there is something wrong with this extension here. When it is activated, my browser becomes basically unresponsive. When desativated, my browser is back to normal. I did try 3 times that same processus, and every time the same result. So I can't rated as good, for it freezes my browser.

This app is not good at all it made me fail me assignment cause it did'nt check grammar and spelling errors. I used to swear by QuillBot. A few years ago, the paraphrasing was smooth, natural, and the product delivered real value. That’s why I decided to return as a paying customer. Unfortunately, the product I came back to is a shadow of what it once was. The sentence structuring is clunky, the paraphrasing feels robotic, and the integration with desktop apps is borderline useless. To make matters worse, their refund policy is a trap. Nowhere in their terms is there a clear, strict “three-day cutoff,” yet that’s the excuse they hide behind when you ask for a refund. I reached out less than a month after subscribing, explaining that the product had materially declined since I last used it. Instead of doing the right thing, they hid behind ambiguous wording and refused a refund for a service I clearly will not use. Charging customers for an entire year of a degraded product, while refusing even a prorated refund, is not just poor service, it’s predatory. When companies rely on rigid, arbitrary policies instead of delivering quality and fairness, it shows exactly where their priorities lie: profit over people. QuillBot used to be a leader. Now it’s just another cautionary tale in how to alienate loyal users. If you’re considering a subscription, proceed with extreme caution. There are better tools out there that respect both your money and your time.

It’s honestly ridiculous that QuillBot won’t let you cuss. We’re adults here, not kids who need a nanny. Language is part of how we express ourselves, and blocking swear words just feels so outdated and unnecessary. If I want to swear, let me swear. They seriously need to cut that bull out and stop policing grown-up language like it’s some kind of crime. Come on, QuillBot—grow up and trust your users.

Causes performance issues when fast scrolling on Twitter and on some other websites when opening a reply message box.

It does not have Italian; it is being racist. It has all the other languages. Not fair, horrible. And when I write in English, it says I wrote it wrong, but when I change it as the error says, nothing changes. Not useful

One of the worst tools I have ever used! It used to be suitable, but not anymore. Now, it will underline random words as errors when they are not errors to anyone with a grasp of grammar. I imported the text today and was shocked at how bad it became after the latest update. If you type the word «this,» it will underline it as a vague pronoun. What? Since when is the word "this" a vague pronoun? Pronouns are NOT vague! It also underlines random sentences as «repeated sentence structure» when they are not repeated. Examples: «That is why my activity is so minimal; I don't want to upload or comment much for these reasons.» ^ According to QuillBot "I don't want to" is a "low engagement?" How is that a low engagement? «I don't know how long this will last, but I hope it will end soon because it has gotten out of control.» ^ According to QuillBot, this is an overused expression. That is NOT an overused expression. «We cannot report plagiarized art; we can't. If you think so, you must then tell the original artist, not us.» ^ According to QuillBot, «if you think so» is a «polite tone.» What is wrong with writing like this? It will do the same if I write «please» at the beginning of the sentence. What is wrong with writing «please?» Why should I use a different suggestion that will alter my expression and be out of context? «After that, I switched to diamond badges because it was easier for me to afford a subscription. After imposing limits on hoarding badges, it has become harder to afford them.» ^ According to QuillBot, this is a «repetitive sentence structure» because it starts with the word «after.» That is not a «repetitive sentence structure.» It's funny how your botched program underlines my sentences when yours starts with «we» three times. So, you can have «repetitive sentence structure,» while I can't. I have spent several minutes looking it up on Google, and no articles have pointed out this nonsense. There's no such thing as low engagement in English grammar. There is no such thing as «weak delivery» in English grammar. A polite tone is appropriate for people who cannot write well or are illiterate! For the test, I used an article written by Nitish Pahwa, a professional editor who works for the digital magazine The Slate Group LLC. And guess what? QuillBot revealed the editor's illiteracy through identical comical mistakes. Unbelievable! I studied the English language from Cambridge, Oxford, and Upstream books for high school. Tables on the last pages point out verb usage, past tense, and other notable rules, not «weak delivery,» «low engagement,» and other garbage! QuillBot, stop sanitizing our precious language and making us all sound the same, illiterate, and artificial. Do we want to live in such a sterile world? No, we don't want to. We want a grammar checker to proofread for spelling, grammar, style, and syntax, not to sterilize our writing and make it sound like a robot! QuillBot: Make your writing painful! Your ideas—butchered writing. Edit: I wrote «What is wrong with writing like this» and QuillBot underlined it as «polite tone,» again. Do not use it! Avoid it! P.S. A bug causes the cursor to jump and makes unwanted edits to your text when you click the "accept all" grammar suggestions button. It also causes the text to collapse or chop. Gross!

This thing opened a log in sign up tab in every window when I enabled it, with a side in each, and this seemed crazy and a very bad sign. One sign up log in page is sufficient. I had 12 windows and it made 12 sign up login pages. I uninstalled it. I had used it a tiny bit years ago and it didn't do that.

you extension is good. but can you add an option to off checks of upper case, and lower case letters , commas and punctuation. i just want ut to check my sentence grammer and spellings. i dont want to check for small mistakes. thats why please add and option to to check and uncheck for what i wanted to check my english. i will rate 5 starts after you get this update.

does not work anymore on overleaf, the only place I really need. and support did not solve the situation. a completely useless purchase... i advice to check that the extension works for several weeks before buying the premium ...

Terrible product. Highlight all over your screen, just for you to click on the highlighting: "unlock this feature with premium". It's such a scummy way of getting more attention to premium. I'm sure someone is gonna run the statistics and is gonna tell me it's profitable, but count me out.

its the worst program. you expect use the program when you pay but then you have to pay addicionals to use the program! I will never try it again.

It's bad at its job and always gives incorrect grammar feedback, use something else if you need to work on typing because this is just not it.

Only uses American English

Very bad!

Extremely disappointed, this program did not work or function correctly at all in my computer. It would only work when it wanted to but not when i wanted to spell check. I gave up on it after two weeks of tweaking with it.

Earlier it was good but now to increase sales it not even correcting the grammar. In additions it is not compatible with the Google Docs.

The spellchecker doesn't work at all, the little bubble that shows up keeps reloading like it's having a spaz attack, so I tired the side bar all that did was rephrase that added unneeded words that I'd worked hard to TAKE out of my writing. This needs a lot of work. Please fix the spell checker and make the paraphrase tool to be more concise and not add in superfluous words. Simplicity is key (usually, not always) for carrying ideas and thoughts forward while keeping a good flow from one idea/paragraph to the next. I just want a simple spell checker to help me with my dyslexia, that's all. *sigh* I know this paragraph looks nice, but it took me several minutes.
