It really sucks it still lets you watch shorts.. This sucks!

Initial 5 star review: The app functions excellently with effortless setup. While it lacks any customizable configuration, it effectively filters out shorts from my subscriptions and search results. It's worth noting that shorts still appear on individual channel pages, and a dedicated shorts tab is conveniently available for intentional short video viewing. What sets this app apart is its respect for user privacy. In contrast to certain other extensions that demand excessive permissions, this one solely requests access to browser history and data on youtube.com. This focused approach is truly appreciated. New permission required are unacceptable - uninstalled and switched to the alternative suggested by Phil.

This was great until the most recent update, now the extension requests these permissions: - Read your browsing history - Manage your apps, extensions, and themes It seems unneccessary and invasive to me. I hope the author rolls back these changes. Otherwise, in the current state I have to give this a bad review so it isn't being pushed to people as a top suggestion. Note, the author has addressed this permission change (insufficiently in my opinion) with this comment in the latest releast notes: "New in version 0.6.0:" "It is now possible to activate/deactivate Shorts by clicking on the extension icon while the YouTube page is opened." "NOTE: The extension requires more permissions because of that feature. Chrome will disable the extension until you accept them. Sorry for the inconvenience :/"

Was good, now asks for obscene permissions.

Worked great. Debating about uninstalling now due to the invasive new permissions required. I am at least going to leave it disabled for now. You can't just push out a release that does this with no explanation. Anyone know if this project is on GitHub?

Was a good extension.. until requiring new terms to be reviewed and accepted. Do not install, malicious adware.

Permissions now ask for your browsing history and to manage your apps extensions and themes. No need for this, probably a scam now. I am removing and I suggest you do not install it.

Now needs to read browsing history for no real reason and thus the rating was changed do 1 star. Original 5 star review: Works very well. Has zero configuration options but removes the shorts from the subscriptions and the search results – but keeps them on individual channel pages and also keeps the shorts tab for when you want to intentionally watch some shorts. And unless the … other … more prominent … extension THIS one does not want intrusive permissions to read browser history or read and write data on all pages, but just on youtube.com. Thanks!

Doesn't work for me at all on Vivaldi or Chrome browser. Just lags the page until I force close

It used to be 100% a 5 star extension, before it now suddenly needing to read my browsing history and manage my apps, extensions and themes. It has no need for this and I uninstalled it immediately.

This extension does remove shorts from your subscription page, but it renders the page unusable and turns the page into unending spinning loading wheels.

EDIT: Update requests invasive and seemingly unencessary permissions. Guess I need to find a replacement extension now. Hides shorts everywhere. Wonderful! It even removes the unrelated recommendation sections from search results. Bonus!

Come on guy... the shorts button is still top left and can easily click it and take you directly to shorts. Expand the app and make it worth it.

After installing this my subscription list was broken

youtube homepage works fine after installing this, but subscriptions page is just a big list of spinny wheels. unusable.

It removes Shorts but it breaks Search results.

Seemed to work at first, but the "Subscribed" page didn't show the videos correctly.

I was hoping it would remove shorts completely from https://www.youtube.com/user/TheTankMuseum/videos leaving the proper content, but it either removes nothing or everything

This extension doesn't filter shorts from the "channel page" search results. e.g., if you go to a specific YouTube channel, click the magnifying glass, and enter your query into the search bar, the results returned for that specific channel still includes YouTube Shorts.

I downloaded this to disable short "notifications" while this is helpful in preventing me from seeing shorts I downloaded this to save time checking channels I follow, when there is no new content I will watch. I only want to be notified of new content in non-short format. This is the reason I wanted this extension. Notifications on your channel still happen, even if they are shorts. You just waste time clicking channels with no new video updates because the new content notification is still triggered by shorts you will never watch. This is still not fixed, the notification goes away when you click the channel and check videos still, the same way as with no app. Three stars.

It is wonderful for desktop but unfortunately it does not work in mobile, i am using kiwi browser and shorts still shows up

Why does it need to read my browsing history to block shorts? Will not recommend anymore.

It worked fine. Now, with update 0.6.0, new permissions are required: read browser history and temper with other extensions and chrome settings. Why?!

After installing this my subscription list was broken

it works great at removing all shorts from YouTube, but regretfully it also (occasionally) removes all videos from a users VIDEOS page leaving that empty. not all the time, but enough times for it to be so annoying that I uninstalled it.

Extension is doing its job - removes link to shorts as expected. But this breaks search results page so first three or four pages of results are removed by this extension.
