This used to be an audio equalizer now its a tab extension, my best bet is for everyone reading this is to email the developer to get it rolled back to how it used to be before this, I already did my part and I really hope this goes back into being an audio extension

what the hell, why did this just auto-install. other people saying it used to be an equaliser or audio compressor and thats the sort of thing i'd use - found an old laptop which i logged in to chrome and this now installed on my current laptop so must have been something audio related. SCAM

Not only was it a spam bait and switch replacement of my original audio app, this IQ Tab thing is #$kin trash by itself, doesn't even work properly.

Used to be an equalizer with compressor. Now it's a soft-malware that auto pops tabs when even when disabled (that prompt me to realize I had this garbage installed and what happened with the extension). Reported as abuse. If you are looking for an extension that looks exactly the same, look up for "Equalizer for chrome browser"

Audio Channel is now only available as an Edge browser add-on. In fact it is a featured add-on over there. I feel like Microsoft paid off the developer.

UPDATE CHANGE TO A MALWARE OR SOMETHING WRONG TOTALLY DIFFERENT.. BE WARE.

After update the developer changed the name and functionality of the extension to something completely different (and seemingly completely useless). Originally this was an audio equalizer now it's... whatever the description says it is, I uninstalled it the moment it wanted new permissions after updating. Bait and switch at best, but for all I know it could've been replaced with malware.

Was my favourite audio plugin until the developer decided to do.. whatever this is. Now I need to find a new plugin with the same functionality. great.

Sleazy bait and switch. I installed an equalizer app only to have the developer completely change the plugin to something I didn't authorize or want - and Google allowed it to be installed on my browser. I hope Google bans this developer for these dishonest and deceptive actions.

Hacked extension, now its malware

Reported as malware. This used to be an extension for using a compressor and EQ on the audio of a tab, but it was recently updated to something completely different. What a genuine shame.

Why did it replace Audio Channel?

Wow, you went from having the top audio extension on chrome to this. No thanks lol Some people are swayed by several thousand dollars I guess.

where did the audio channel go?!!? this IQ thing has replaced a well loved audio channel extension that i used for youtube and other video sites. i had to switch to microsoft edge in order to find it and use it again. so disappointing

This plugin used to be a staple of my workflow, but at some point the developer has decided to use this existing plugin to redirect too bogus web traffic. DO NOT USE THIS PLUGIN. THIS IS MALWARE. DO NOT INSTALL. This is no longer the plugin I used for years. Super unfortunate. I would love someone else to tackle the features this plugin once had.

This extension used to be about audio mixing/customization. AVOID AND REMOVE IT IMMEDIATELY! Everytime I open a link on the new tab, it redirects me to some bogus URL before it actually brings me to the correct website I clicked. Thank god, MS Edge actually gave me warning and disabled this extension. Please report this extension for abuse!

What happened to this extension? As soon as I updated the browser, it gave me this. This is not the extension I had in mind. Bring back the audio channel as it was originally. Sure, there are similar ones to this, but what made this unique is it had the karaoke mode, and this would have given me 5 stars, but with this, this looks suspicious and very shady. Quite frankly, it shouldn't even deserve one star. Look, if it was no longer compatible with Google, there were issues with privacy, etc. I can understand that, but I had no problems using it even using the most updated version of Chrome. Something is fishy here. The overview picture is in Russian, and it doesn't even look like it is from the same developer. I think it got hacked.

This was advertised as an audio limiter and that's what i installed and used it for for at least a year now. But when i set up a virtual machine yesterday, installed chrome onto it and signed in to my account i suddenly got a new sidebar inside chrome and "IQ Tab - Custom New Tab" made itself known. Chrome gave me a warning about it and i instantly deactivated it, not knowing what it was. But then i noticed the audio limiter was gone. It still has the icon with the faders from before, but the name has changed and its description now says: "Customize the background of your new tab in Google Chrome" wich is absolute NOT what i installed it for (chrome has that one built in already). Massively suspect behaviour, reported and uninstalled.

This used to be an excellent EQ for websites such as YouTube. Now it's something else without warning, which seems sketchy.

This was a great app, used it with YouTube. but now it is an entirely different website. please change it back to its original format. (had to install to review.)

Author account hacked? This is not the same addon it was before - it was Audio Channel.

what a disgusting person, he removed the compressor and changed it to a tab that is even horrible... unpleasant subject... but those who want it can google it as Audio Channel CRX 2.7.4 and they will find it back and without no problem hehe

The extension changed drastically and is nothing alike what it used to be (an audio manipulation extension), no idea whether it was hacked or something.

Google this: Audio Channel CRX 2.7.4, thats the last version of it. unzip it to the folder and use developer mode then load unpacked, that stops it from updating!!!!

what happened to the audio equalizer??? - i updated google chrome, and came back to find a " new tab changer " instead of an audio equalizer. PLEASE bring the audio equalizer back. - 5 stars for the audio equalizer, but i'm furious that this was done without so much as a warning.

Most recent update broke the extension , its not showing up the controls and sound its worst than before using it

Every time i turn this on on any youtube video, no matter what settings i edit or turn off, all it does is create a horrifying glitchy broken audio where the pitch changes all over the place even wih the setting turned off...

Doesn't run offline right now. It will be back to four stars when it runs offline. For five stars it needs to run on every tab. It's obnoxious to open a new tab and have it be really loud. This plugin should either be on by default or have the option to make it on by default. I want a set it and forget it audio compressor for poorly mixed content. What is so hard about the set it and forget it part?

Found out I could change my review, so 0 stars. Read the other comments. Download an old version, and just don't update it.

when i use this app my youtube is buffering. what can i do to fix that ?

Nice job destroying my bit depth and making all my music clip out. Digital distortion sounds SO good! That's sarcasm, for those who can't understand that.
