Description

Currently allows you to have full control of your Google Calendar events with custom colors. Add new colors to your palette in the extensions popup menu to see more color options in your calendar! More features to come. Source Code: github.com/bryanhuangg/gcal-hue Patch Notes: ========== Version 1.0.5 (1/19/2025) - Custom color now applies onto all repeated events - Storage usage now shown in settings - Fixed issue where user couldn't set custom colour when creating event - Fixed issue where color selection menu would all change to the same color Version 1.0.4 (5/3/2024) - Color selector now shows up properly in event editing. - Text color changes to white if custom color is too dark. - Small cosmetic bugs resolved. Version 1.0.3 (3/10/2024) - Updated color overlay code to replace all found HTML colors of an event rather then query for specific class names: should reduce instances of event colors not changing. Why would you make it so that you have to type in the code to get new colors and not have a color wheel or bar that you can just scroll around on, like every other application where you pick colors for things?

It is a nice concept, but even thought i select the option to save changes for "All events", it does not work and i have to manually change the color of every single event in my calendar even if it is a repeating one, and that is a lot of work i do not want to do... And also it does not sync to phone, so i just did all that for nothing.

I tried it on my events but after a few hours it stopped working. It does show the colors are added but whenver I would pick my custom colors, it just goes back to the prepicked color by google.

Pretty on the desktop app, but when I look at the calendar on my ipad the colors, they don't transfer. Spent a lot of time updating the colors on my calendar just to realize it did nothing across the app! Sad! Also the reason it took so long to update the calendar in the first place is because it won't apply to event series! Again, it's pretty on the desktop but definitely would be better with a few updates.

5 stars cuz you're adding a basic feature Google failed to add. But it is not functional when it comes to changing the event colors. Seems like Google is going apeshit with the updates and keeps breaking your code to implement their awful "new modern look". Pls patch quick. <3 Update 17/03/2024: Just tried it again and it works as expected now. Although I wish the color of the text could be changed manually or automatically to contrast the background color cuz it's hard to read with pastel colors. Update 15/04/2024: Been using this for a while and all bright colors are practically useless because there is no dark font option. Lowering my rating to 2 stars until this major inconvenience is fixed.

Simple to create a palate and the colors show up when you control click the event, but doesn't change the event color.

Hi, it seems like there's another chrome update, and clicking the color doesn't change the color of the calendar event.

Good idea but it doesn't seem to work. Right clicking on an event and picking a custom color doesn't do anything. Therefore, no way to apply the custom colors.

I appreciate how simple it is—does everything it needs to without any unnecessary fluff. My only annoyance is it reverts every event to the calendar's default color, while other GCal custom color extensions leave the previously selected color as a fallback you can see on the mobile app.

Unfortunately the custom colors are not syncing to the app on iPhone. Bummer.

Hi! I am excited about this extension, but I cannot figure out why it's not working for me. I downloaded it, added my colors, but they are not showing up on my events. What am I doing wrong?

Love it in the PC format, but the colors don't work on the Calendar app on the pixel, so it is useless for me now. I spend half my time on the calendar app on the phone.

Extension works great as a concept and I was able to change the colors of my events to something custom. However, I cannot use it anymore as it slows down my calendar on doing even basic tasks.

This is a great extension with a lot of potential. However, I really wish colors would stay assigned in repeated event series. As is, it is almost too time consuming changing all event colors manually to make using the extension worth it.

Hello! For some reason, after I pick a color in the Hue tab on the top right corner of my screen, I am not able to change any colors of my calendar. How exactly do I work this? Thank you for your time, Ryan

How do I make the colors stay for repeated events? It only works for one event and then manually makes me change the colors for the rest of them

I agree with the last review that clicking colors won't change the event color.

Same thing that happens to @Jean Luy, happens to me. Nothing happens when selecting color in the calendar. (as opposed to selecting a standard color. 3 stars just for trying to fix one more thing google should have already done.
