Unfortunately, this chrome extension is changing file extension. For example, .CSV files may change extension to .TXT or .XLS while the content stays CSV.
Does nothing. Downloads follow my Chrome settings no matter what I do in this extension.
Tried everything I could come up with but just could not get this extension to work. Always downloads the files to the default folder or asks me where I want it. A few examples would be great (filename, filetype, etc), otherwise it's useless.
Does not work with referrer domains
it isn't working anymore
UBER COMPLICATED!
No longer working. Also, looks like it's no longer supported by developer. Icon is grayed out. Everything just goes in the downloads folder. Rules don't do anything.
Getting filetype to download to a different folder (yes, within Downloads folder) is impossible with the current set of instructions by the developer. date: 11252016
Can not figure it out and help is very unhelpful.
not working
all i want to do is route a specific file type to a folder but it doesnt seem to work and the instructions are so confusing :( the file type is ".phz"
sometimes non-working on japanese operating environment.
Doesn't seem to be working anymore, everything just goes to directory "undefined".
1. It is often mistaken with a choice of folders for files: saves .mp4 to images/, .exe to torrents/, etc. 2. Very difficult setting of file types
I wanted to save all my audio files to a specific folder but it didn't work. I have no idea what the reason might be. Restarting the browser didn't help me either. My Setup looked like this: Filetype ⇨ folder mapping audio/mpeg X:/Downloads/Music/
The idea is great. Unfortunately, the extension isn't working
Renames (some?) files based on their mime type, not their original extension. eg. .some-random-application-specific-extension gets renamed .json, because that's the kind of file it is... but it won't work with the correct application because you've lost the metadata that says which application should open the file. Appears to work as advertised otherwise.
Unnecessarily complicated. would be very easy to improve some of the pain points mentioned in many other reviews that've been there for years. drop down for mime, auto subdomain or wildcard, subfolders based on name, etc etc. Needs improvement
It works great, but it occasionally resets all of its data (likely after a chrome update). This makes it a bit of a pain to use as you have to re-setup everything every few months. It is 5 stars otherwise.
not working in mobile chrome(kiwi browser, yandex browser...) wanted autoroute xxx content in smartphone. kiwi asked where to save for new downloads image/video. and download into default folder anyway -( my rules by names. 480P --> video/xxxmp4, (m=* --> xxxpics. its not worked( need to try video download addons with autoroutes path folders in abylities/options. many addons this type norm+- working in mobile chrome. even without context menu/right click in mobile chrome.
I make a rule (eg, images to save in "downloads/images" folder), but sometimes I want several images to go to some other folder (eg. B folder, save as...) and it always opens IMAGES folder, not the last chosen. That irritates.
Please add routing by file extension, it would be much more easy than MIME types.
You don't support mime masks or "starts with", do you? That's huge deficiency!
Update: Make sure to never choose the option "Enable global referrer folders" as this will mess up all of your router settings. This is off by default, but just a warning in case someone tries it and doesn't realize that's the reason the extension started acting weird. This extension is pretty amazing. One of the most common and annoying problems with browsers is that your downloads folder piles up and becomes a complicated mess of different files you've accumulated over time, which can take a lot of effort to sort through. This extension takes care of all that ahead of time, and makes organizing your downloads folder much easier. So far my only problem has been that .zip files have been labeled as "undefined" rather than in the zip folder that I designated in the settings.
Setting file types should be simpler
