Rove — Discover random personal websites from Nekoweb and Neocities with one click. WHAT IS ROVE? Rove is a lightweight browser extension that opens a random site from Nekoweb or Neocities in a new tab. No account, no sign-up, no hassle. Pick a platform, click Fetch!, and explore the indie web. WHAT ARE NEKOWEB AND NEOCITIES? • Nekoweb (nekoweb.org) — A free, open hosting place for personal sites. People publish homepages, blogs, art, and small projects. • Neocities (neocities.org) — A free, static site hosting platform that supports thousands of independent websites. Great for creative and personal pages. Together they host a huge variety of hand-made sites. Rove lets you discover them at random. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the Rove icon in your toolbar. 2. Choose a platform: Both (random from either), Nekoweb only, or Neocities only. 3. Click Fetch! 4. A new tab opens with a random site from your choice. The extension remembers the last 50 sites you opened per platform (stored only on your device) so it can avoid showing you the same site twice in a row when possible. PRIVACY Rove does not collect, store, or send any personal or usage data to external servers. • The extension only loads public browse/explore pages from nekoweb.org and neocities.org to pick a random site. • The storage permission is used only to keep the last 50 opened URLs per platform in your browser’s local storage. This data never leaves your device. • No analytics, no tracking, no third-party requests except to Nekoweb and Neocities as needed to fetch the list of sites. PERMISSIONS • Storage — Saves the last 50 opened URLs per platform (Nekoweb, Neocities) locally so the extension can reduce repeats. No cloud sync, no server upload. • nekoweb.org / *.nekoweb.org — To fetch public explore pages and choose a random Nekoweb site. • neocities.org / *.neocities.org — To fetch public browse pages and choose a random Neocities site.
