Better History | Manage, Export, and Delete History

Only keeps 3 months of history
no longer keeping any history at all, completely broken
It doesn't actually search all available history. You had one job!
Every time I get a pop-up I can't dismiss, demanding a rating, I give 1-star. And will continue to do so every time it pops up and i cant otherwise dismiss. 😤
Got it because Brave browser doesn't allow bulk opening tabs from history. This extension also doesn't.
lt is very good
Giant pop-up box in my history that won't close until I leave a review. Since you couldn't be bothered to put a close button in, here's your review.
Moments ago, while in the better history tab, a popover appeared asking me to rate the extension. I couldn't figure out how to get rid of it, so I gave it 1 star. I don't know where that rating went, so I added it here. If you want to force me to rate the extension, then I will rate it 1 star.
WHERE IS THE EXPORT ALL BUTTON
new version is slower and doing deletions with queries doesnt actually delete
For something made to keep my history, its always missing whatever I'm looking for.
Does NOT keep your history for longer than 90 days.
There are many major flaws with this extension: A) You don't have a calendar view. You have tabs only for the last seven days. then you have to scroll and scroll and... scroll again and again to go back in time. A calendar would have solved this major issue. B) No "memory". Let's say that you're on July 1st and do a search. It'll take you back not to the same day, but to the actual day. then you have to scroll and scroll forever back to get back to the day you were at. This could have been solved by either taking you back to the day you wer working on, or to have an option for that in the settings. C) No check boxes. Let's say you on Juky 4th, and want to delete some entries and keep some. There is NO check boxes for that. You can only delete the full day, by a specific full hour or one by one. Those major issues makes this extension pretty much useless and gets a 1 star only. This extension could have been top notch if done right...
It's weird to use, the days are from right to left, very unusual
Can we revert or have the option to have the extension open the Activity tab rather than the pop-up? One of the reasons I installed this extension was because I wanted to see the History window open in a tab instead of the default pop-up Chrome uses. Basically, the change removed the only reason I installed this extension in the first place. UPDATE: version 5.0.2 reverts the pop-up change. Thank you!
Please add an option to change the UI color back to before the recent update.
what happened? new interface is unusable
I wonder if it deleted near all of years of history. I think it did.
Can't change date format, we're not all americans, with a backwards date
Just doesn't work anymore, I guess. Oh well.
Caused Youtube random history
Used to be a great alternative to Google Chrome's virtually useless History. Now it just crashes every time. What a pity.
doesnt work
Unable to find inside history dating back to yesterday! Entering the website in the search field, nothing found! Ridiculous
Doesn't seem to be able to search deeper if no results are found during initial search.
Some queries that return results with regular History don't return any results with Better History, making it useless.
Post on Quora from May 10, 2018 This week, the “Better History” extension for Chrome has been sold to some really sketchy people, who have ruined it by creating redirects to unanalytics and other malicious sites. Uninstall this extension if you have it.
Has less functions than original chrome history. This extension cannot even select multiple links.
The main thing i need is a detailed list of everytime a page is attempted to be accessed. This app and the main chrome history will group thinks So if i visit a site at 8 am and come pack to it at 9am the 8am line is gone only a line there.
Waste of time. The extension won't go back even four days. Further, the author is unresponsive to requests to fix it.
This is worse than chrome's own history function. If you wanna go back little further(like a week ago) and you click the date, it only shows a few or simply no any result, but I can find the history when I disabled the extension. I don't know, maybe I was wrong, hope there's any tips.
randomly will eventually redirect you to a virus site
Cant select and delete multiple records from single site
add the old Enhanced History Color/Theme.. (so hard to read this black, white, gray color)
I have a left eye dominance. The left side looks very messy to me
You guys had a fantastically streamlined interface. You've rolled out a new one this week, in the tech sector's usual anti-social, unannounced, non-optional way, and you've made it a clunky, unfriendly mess. s - l - o - w h - a - n - d - c - l - a - p
The search filter not works on select date, it always filter the full history :(
Really poor search. If you search for two terms, like "bread butter", you won't find anything unless the words are in the title in exactly the same order: "bread butter". You won't find, say, "bread and butter". You can't search for a URL (just the domain name gets searched). Native Chrome search does all that.
It certainly looks nicer than the standard Brave History tab, but ... * why is the time indicator reversed, progressing from right to left? Coder from Japan? * why is there no way to mark and restore more than a single tab at a time? 99% of the time I search the browser history it's because I want to restore tabs. Something that's super easy in Firefox. Why are all Chromium extensions only focused on deleting stuff. Seriously, what sites are you ppl visiting that the only purpose of the browser history you can think of is deleting it^^. This extension makes browsing the history more convenient, but doesn't add any useful functionality. It doesn't enable me to do anything I wasn't able to do with a stock Brave install. Pretty, but ultimately worthless. Add a proper restore function and I'll change my mind and the rating in a heartbeat.
you lose all of your history if chrome updates and enables safe browsing
After I delete the history of a site (about 2,000 records), the plugin keeps showing up as loading... is this a performance issue? I don't feel like this problem can be fixed by waiting
Displays dates in that confusing US date format, even though my browser and Google settings are set to display dates normally. That makes this plug-in a non-starter, and the Firefox equivalent doesn't have this problem, and it looks better.
it won't show any results that are older than a week or two maybe when searching by key words , which makes it almost useless. As for the rest, it's nice, I wish there wasn't this issue.
Organized by date but has ZERO filters. I want only Youtube results which it cannot do.
i dont know why it always let me to write down a review
Not load all history items, that Chrome has
Great way to get low ratings is putting at pop-up with no close button o0ver content, so the user is force to rate when they haven't used the plugin long enough to form an opinion.
So this might be my own cluelessness but I can't for the life of me find a way to delete multiple sites easily. With the basic google history, you press shift (or control? i don't remember) to select one long range of sites to delete from your history. This is great when you want to delete dozens of back-to-back visits without individually clicking on each one (which takes sooo long). However, I can't find a key here to do the same action. The shift key doesn't accomplish this, unless it does and maybe it is my laptop which is incompatible with the extension. Apart from that, it works well as intended. I've really appreciated it for the longest but this singular function not working has really made me reconsider just going back to the basic google history since selecting each site one by one is very tedious. Would give it a higher rating otherwise.
My use case: I usually want to find some item in history in order to see what other sites I visited during that session. This extension is good enough, but I would like to have the ability to quickly jump from an entry I found with search to the view where you see that entry in the entire timeline. Like, "jump to that day". Also, search is not very good: 1. I can't find the Wikipedia article "Ontology (information science)" by running the query "information ontology". Does it only search by exact match? Well, developers today know better. Not "better" history - Chrome's native search uses tokenization and finds that. 2. Better History only finds one entry for a URL, the latest one. But Chrome deliberately keeps many entries for a URL if they were visited in different days! E.g. you may visit a URL yesterday and today, and Chrome will save both of the visits, and they are both searchable. Better History only shows one - this is not good, and not "better" history. Two UI points: 1. When I press Ctrl+H, I want the search bar to be focused so that I could search immediately what I want without using my mouse. This is done in Chrome's native history. Again, not "better" history. 2. There is also no calendar by month to move metween dates quickly. There are a lot of calendar components in the web - don't reinvent the wheel, just use one of them. Good luck to the author, though, I saw some bugs fixed since I started using this. I'll improve the rating if I see the mentioned issues resolved.
Nice extension, just got one feature request: in the Activity section, is it possible to add a filter for Devices so that I can check history specific to my devices like mobile, laptop etc.?
