NOT ADA COMPLIANT OR USER FRIENDLY If recruiters want their candidates to feel accused, insulted, and generally frustrated by their test experience, this is the ideal solution. However, if you respect your candidates at all, move on to a better solution. I got flagged as cheating every time I looked away from the camera to read the test questions. Like most adult men over 40, my eyes don't focus as well as they used to. So I have a large monitor to make it easier to read. Clearly, this software can't accommodate users unless they are using a small laptop screen with a built-in web cam. This is inconvenient, may violate the the Americans with Disabilities Act, and is just plain bad software design. (I finally pointed the camera at the screen to demonstrate that I was just reading a large monitor, but of course that just led to more problems.) I was also accused of cheating when I read out loud, because someone was telling me the answers. Apparently using your voice is also too much for the software to handle. Bad design, bad execution, bad experience in every way.
Useless won't select my camera .
garbage. won't select my camera or mic. does not work on linux
Single word - Pathetic. if 0 or -ve score was available, I would have given -5 Privacy, compatibility, inaccuracy. Had to install extensions.. it was not able to detect laptop mic. It is not working on Mobile.. Suggestion to the hiring company (in my case UST): It will be better to assign an Actual person for hiring personnel into your team, Especially for Sr. management positions, where the interview cannot be defined in MCQ's and a lot depends on the soft skills.
It monitors your screen (you can choose which screen or window). It'll point out that you have multiple monitors (this is apparently a no-no), it'll want to take a picture of you (i guess as a neutral against which to see if you're looking away?), and then you'll be asked to install the android/apple app too. as far as I can tell it's just to make sure you aren't using your phone. So yeah, no way to get around that... 🙄. Mine was constantly disconnecting the entire time, making it really hard to keep a train of thought. Overall a very belittling way to go through the hiring process, but sadly, in our world where meaningless metrics count for more than anything else, a prevalent one, which is not going away.
pathetic. not reliable
Zero Stars, they asked me 8 question which had nothing to do with my resume, and was basically a waste of my time. Never uses glider.ai and never engage with their clients (UST in my case). IMHO, The positive reviews here are clearly fake.
Worst experience, warn me when I am looking at the keyboard to type?????????????? Many unwanted false flags
very very bad experience. if you looks keyboard it generate red notification. i have never seen such a worst product. i can't understand why good company use this.
What is the value of testing the ability to write code without the benefit of a google search. Any employer that uses this will be poorly served.
Terrible experience
Very terrible product, worst OA experience at all time. I don't understand why company use this. Even warn me when I look at keyboard. Kick me out of the coding pad when I am focusing on questions. Terrible, terrible, terrible!!!!!!!!!!
Kept raising false flags for looking at the questions at the corner of the screen!
Yes, i really need to trash my chrome with this extension and also i need a trash my cell with an app. No thank you. I am not going to move forward with any companies using this trash platform.
Lots of problems with that platform that I feel significantly hurt my chances of moving forwards. Kicked out of the test 5+ times for no reason, meaning I had to log back in and regain my train of thought each time. I was also flagged for talking and looking away, neither of which happened. I am assuming I was flagged more than once for each, as they do not tell you after the first time...
Invasive, horrible.
sucks
Other's have already talked about the privacy issues, so I'll leave that be. Instead, I want to talk about how truly unwieldy this platform is to use. Their facial recognition seems to think I am looking away from the screen even when I am looking directly at it. If you are using this to code, their coding platform is also worse than their competitors. They have no error detection, cannot find opening/closing braces, and lacks other QoL features that other compilers have. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. If you are a recruiter that wants to use a online testing platform while violating user privacy, atleast use one that has good QoL.
A truly dystopian way to do job interviews.
Faced input issues during the test with no way to resolve other than restarting / exiting the test window. Also claimed I was cheating during the *entire* assessment and looking away from the screen the whole time. Terrible experience!
who is the interviewer their contact is not given. If the Interviewer is not joined, we need to sit idle. Also, a plugin need to install to make it work which is not sure how much safe.
I wish I can give 0 star. It's totally wrong way. My browser crased multiple times but after reinstall it's stable. Here there are no any information that what will you monitor. It's totally against user privacy.
This does not even deserve 1 rating!! I was kicked off early from the interview without any notice to me! VERY IMPERSONAL WAY TO CONDUCT INTERVIEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Obtrusive and annoying to be constantly corrected for the slightest of infraction, like looking away for a second because of a thunderstorm or crying child will get you a fail. Companies use Glider to make up for their own inabilities to screen and interview candidates by filling the questions bank with elements that only only someone intimately familiar with the organizations practices could possibly know. This is the LAST TIME I will do a GLIDER interview. After a couple of times of being a victim of this software, I refuse to do another.
Wish I could choose 0 stars for this terrible excuse for proctoring. I get it that cheating occurs and solutions should be put in place, however this flagged me a couple of times for looking across my screen (I'm using two 40 inch monitors). Then multiple disconnects. The best part, when I connected back the instructions on the side of the screen were missing thumbnails meaning I had no context any more on what I was supposed to do. Glider.ai is a great way for me to just avoid any companies using their product, saves me time. I imagine it's just a matter of time before Glider.ai goes out of business, so won't be an inconvenience for too long.
What a silly way to test a person.
Just got done with it. kept crashing. also before install, it says, can "view all data from all websites". this kind of intrusiveness is silly and dangerous. Companies should just take some time and talk to candidates 1:1.
Worst extension ever. Better to move to onsite interviews than having these unnecessary extensions monitoring the machine and compromising privacy of the users.
Connection unreliable. Permissions excessive for use case.
No professional business should be using this software to proctor anything. What a headache.
THE WORST "proctoring" app I've EVER used in my life. I've never felt so outraged after completing a test. I really hope Glider goes out of business.
I'd give it 0 stars if I could. It kept hanging up, the UI was a joke, I had to go through a pile of permissions, and the whole experience was sub par. It also seemed a little phishy. Any company using this product is not oe you should work for.
Why does this app need to control my phone too? That’s a huge red flag. I really don’t like this kind of sneaky behavior—feels like a bad product with a worse approach.
Excessive permissions, poor ability to actually determine whether a user is looking at the proctored exam. Tools like this exist to provide protected demographic information to employers earlier in the interviewing process and enables discrimination.
Feels Suspicious Makes us to install chromes extension is fine(suspicious)! and again, Why need to install in my mobile????
worst experience in connecting and many orgs blocked camera access for Ai
Garbage. Doesn't work. Use Teams, Zoom or Google Meet. This is trash.
Glider app is very worst. I never seen this kind of worst app for assessment. It has disconnected multiple times during exam without any reason. Out of 50 minutes of my exam time, It ate 45 minutes of my time. Useless application.
Audio Quality Issues.
Pathetic, should be banned.
Glider doesn't work with Chrome on Mac. Firefox and Safari is not supported.
Malware, should not be allowed on Chrome Web Store
POOR USABILITY
The absence of the LSE support/autosuggest in that joke of the IDE, coupled with forbidding googling the exact syntax of the function, does not make this in any way a real world coding experience. JS objects may have hundreds of functions each, and nobody remembers the exact syntax of each. This is what ESLint and autosuggest are for. (Also the 'keep your hands and your ears where I can see it, don't look sideways' makes you feel like you are getting arrested) This is not suitable at all for mid-level or senior developer screening, sorry. Not a good job on that IDE.
This is so unfriendly tool.
not being able to use a pen or paper or even a calculator is not an example of the real world, this is nor a great way to have a test, we all test differently.
i dont like when i lose
This is so unfriendly to neurodivergent and disabled people. Not being able to look elsewhere, like using a notepad to better understand and analyze questions, is problematic. Constant audio monitoring is difficult because I talk to myself to process information. Whole screen sharing is also an issue; my ultra-wide monitor makes it very straining to have the browser window take up the entire screen, and it triggers the "you are not looking at the screen" warning. My wallpaper and desktop files were visible the entire time. A time limit per question? I can instantly see people with autistic traits and anxiety disorder not performing well. The “AI” should have been used to discover ways to be inclusive, not to track vision and audio. This extension only enforces neurotypical behaviors. Additionally, who knows what else this extension is monitoring? I tried using it in an incognito window for some privacy, but it didn't allow that. Overall, this extension and the way it enforces testing are not inclusive of different ways to process information and solve problems. It narrows the candidate pool and success rate to those with a specific problem-solving approach, which hurts the diversity of intelligence types and creative problem-solving.
The fact that you are not allowed to write things down to be able to pull apart questions is ridiculous. An empty notepad is not cheating. Please get this together. It is ridiculous to think this is what someone believes simulates a real world environment.
The website Jams in between writing code making the assessment experience Horrible. Literally have to refresh the ongoing test page 10-12 times and refill permissions form during online assessment for a company.
