Doesn't work, just keeps coming up with an annoying Pop Up youtube video even when you click ''do not show for this inbox' a million times.
Thoroughly enjoyed using this extension until developers decided that the word 'free' meant 'paid subscription'. Look elsewhere for something else.
A monthly subscription fee for an app like this is messed up. I don't mind paying but on monthly basis? That is asbsurd. Lost all respect for the devs behind this. I'd rather go for alternates and spend some time setting those up.
monthly paid app. not all that useful frankly and obviously not worth the cost.
A subscription price for this is absurd. Would have paid a flat fee, but monthly is nonsense for what it does.
Not free, they don't warn you it's only a trial. And the price is pretty high for what it does.
I spent hours over the past (almost) month getting things set up, only to get a notification today that it was a free trial and I need to pay $2.99 per month for it! THIS IS NOT FREE, FOLKS! Although the description says "Cut the time you spend sorting through Gmail labels with our newest (and free!) email productivity tool, Gmail Tabs!" Emailed support. Will update if they make this right.
This used to be free, and now it isn't. Boo. Good bye!
Suddenly decided to not be free anymore? Pricing is too high for the value provided.. please lower it and we might consider paying a small amount
At no stage did it say it was a 'trial', uninstalling it.
This is a great feature I have used for many months, then all the sudden I got a notification that this is a paid service. This was never a paid service before, nor was it stated that I was in any free-trial when I signed up. I received no communication about this change and $30 a year for a tab feature is steep in my opinion.
Gmail Tabs is a fabulous extension to use. It truly is a wonderful tool and very helpful. However, I use this with my work email so there is no way I can pay for this extension being as it requires login and payment now. Therefore, I will have to get rid of it entirely. I have been singing Cloud HQ's praises over this feature for the past several weeks. Now I have to break the news that it is only a free trial. If that was stated up front- I did not see it. I feel that you guys just suddenly started charging after without warning to allow people to get used to using it and liking it in hopes we would pay. If it were my personal account, I would consider paying for it. But not for a work account. Very disappointed in Cloud HQ for removing the free functionality. Perhaps you guys would consider leaving it free for Google Workspace accounts at least? Its only a matter of time before someone else begins to offer this functionality via a completely free extension.
I enjoyed using this for several years, until I was suddenly - and without explicit notice by email or something - switched to a 30-day trial. I assumed this had to be an error, but now the trial is up it has stopped working and I am expected to pay nearly € 36 per year. Way too much for just having my own tabs. So I have uninstalled Gmail Tabs.
No longer works because they have changed the user rights and now require a login. Which was not announced, but simply changed without notice.
Anoying pop-up triggering a viddeo of presentation every week or two ... Please fix this !
As an idea it's not bad. But it's counter-intuitive to use (have no idea why there's so much "gushing" in the reviews here) and buggy. Selecting a color for Gmail tab sometimes the color is saved and can be seen. Usually it's not and in fact only one tab has saved a selected color. Tedious to fiddle around with. Support is evidently nonexistent and have never received a reply re: the tab color bug. Would rather pay for a version that works rather than a cracked freebie.
Simply does not work. The video attached shows something that I do not get with the extension. And trying to open the site I get an error. Useless.
Created a tab for an important label used to track orders which have been delivered. Tab was created, but it was empty and the label was removed from all the affected emails. Will take me ages to track down all the mails and get my Gmail back to where it was ten minutes ago.
I’ve used it for years, but recently it’s no longer free. It’s a great add-on, but for my needs it’s not something I’d consider paying for. Rather disappointing.

I think it's now forcing me to make an account. Why would I want to do that?
I loved it and made great use of it until a recent update that has broken the way a more complex label search query seems to be handled, which makes it hardly useable now. On my Workspace Gmail the upper line of the tab edit popup window used to say "Query name for this tab:" on my Workspace but "Label name for this tab:" on my private gmail. Both versions were 1.0.0.8, which is odd. In Workspace (the "query" version of 1.0.0.8) the following query used to nicely give a list of items labelled item2024 (but neither a nor b): label:item2024 -label:a -label:b But in the private Gmail the same query via this plugin pushes hyphens into the mix so the line for the Gmail search bar when clicking on the tab becomes label:-label:item2024--label:a--label:b. Now for the sad fun part. When trying to troubleshoot, I wanted to unistall the the offending version on my private Gmail, only to - of course, le sigh - uninstall the one on my workspace, as the windows looked identical :D When I immediately reinstalled that very same 1.0.0.8 version from the Store, the Workspace extensions now also says "Label NAME for this tab:" (not query as before), and low and behold, it is not also broken inside Workspace. Since it worked flawlessly with previous versions, and prior to a fresh reinstall, it must be something with the updated code.
Its not doing what was promised. I wanted the tabs to be creates in the same horizontal as rimary, social, etc. This creates a different tab line altogether.
I installed the extension and can't see it!
In its current form it just swaps the click from left side to the top. It would be way more useful if I can have a filter query as my tab rather than just a label.
1) Want a tab for "label:unread label:inbox" 2) Tabs should show number of unreads.
The extension itself is very useful – unfortunately, it has changed from a free version to a trial version.
Works well, a bit slow, but the communication from cloudHQ is annoying enough to just barely be worth it.
I don't see any use for it. Instead of having verical labels now I also have horizontal tabs for exactly the same job. Just more screen real estate occupied. Plus it's slower than the labels. Uninstalled.
does what it's supposed to do, but pops up a video every week or so telling me about itself. please stop.
Very very useful extension..... but had ton uninstall it : GMail started lagging with it installed especially in inbox interface (clicks and icons on hover). Too bad 10/10 would reinstall if this was fixed
Is it norma that it is so long to load the tab ? at least 4 sec everytime
Wanted to love LOVE love this but it adds simply more unused space to the top where I've precious little browser room in the first place. So now I have "inbox" tab at the top, a space under that, then the traditional Inbox, Social, Promo which, if Google was smart, we could simply rename and add more of our own tabs there. [sigh]. Anyways, kinda a PITA to now have a level/layer of tabs at the top and under that yet more tabs. Not clean nor elegant.
It would be a must if it wasn't that it is too slow
Doesn't work with VPN on, which kinda makes it useless, since my company requires VPN for work
It's better than the categories that are built-in in Gmail because you can create tabs of your own, but it could be so much more convenient if it would have shown nested labels as tabs under each label tab
OK, but not quite at the functionality I require. If a new email arrives on a different tab - how do I know about it? 1. In the tab bar, there needs to be a count of any new emails, just like there is on the label list on the left. 2. In the label list on the left, the tabs should be in the list (in the same way that Gmail's native 'categories' are)
I would really love to be able to customize it more. The color of the dashboard, and the fonts. I like the concept, I just feel like it is lacking in a few areas. It is too bad we can't get around the categories all-together.
Still a long way to go, but definitely a good start! For starters, it would make sense to also enable some modification of the tabs themselves; for example, I would love to be able to modify it such that it would show only the inbox for that label, and not the outgoing messages as well. tl;dr - good extensions, requires some "settings" to modify behaviour
