Currency Converter PRO

I hate that I can't remove the flying popup when doing some right click or click on text on the browser (if can be disabled, I couldn't find the setting). Wasn't an issue before the recent rework of the extension. Always hit it by accident. Uninstalled.

Last version please. It's difficult to use it. Why did you make such an unnecessary, unusable update. The last version... Please...

Used this extension for years but the latest update has made it worse and unusable. The in-page conversion doesn't work with certain elements. For example, an amount that is being entered by the user used to be able to be highlighted and converted- now it does not. The converter popover will show up when highlighting non numbered text which is annoying. Overall the new popover is not an improvement. Hopefully some fixes and tweaks can return this back to a proper state.

Last update broke all simplisity of app. Prevous version was much more smart and easy

Old simple interface was much better, in page converter was also better without the annoying pop-up we have now. Dont change something that works already. We dont need fancy but functional and simple

The new update is… something. Pressing ctrl+c now summons a currency converter UI for some reason they think I need... extremely disruptive to my workflow. Even better, can’t find an option to turn it off. So I’m done—extension disabled.

5 stars for previous design, 1 for this new one. What is going on? Please return to previous design - or give it as an option.

Golden rule - if it works, then don't touch it. Id like to see 'use old version' option

New UI/UX is subpar now compared to the previous version. The previous one was so easy to work with as it did not take up as much space and its simplicity was a big plus. Even something as simple as attempting to drag select a value is near impossible since it treats it as reordering a currency tab. Overall, there is so much more friction added with this new overhaul. If the current UI design remains I recommend making a compact mode that stays at the very least close to the original version.

Does not convert currencies in page even when checked

Converts everything on any homepage even though I don't want it to. Check is not set. Useless.

In page conversion doesnt work.

Totally useless. I used it to convert prices from taobao.com they are in RMB and when I select the price for in-page conversions, the extension defaults to my current currency and converts that into multiple currencies. It doesn't take into account that the price on the page is in another currency.

Don't calculate correct. The app says 1 USD is 8.61 DKK When checking the rate on their site it is 6.9437 DKK What a shame I can't use it anymore, hope they will fix it...

Extension handles any highlighted number as a local currency and I cannot find how to change the base currency from which it should convert to other currencies. This action (select base currency) should be very trivial and user-friendly, but it's totally not possible or if it is - very hard to find. Huge disadvantage.

I'm selecting 2 US dollars on the page, the extension thinks it is 2 PLN... Lame.

This extension updated today. And the User Experience has got worse because of it. I do alot of currency conversions. I used to click the Currency Pro Logo on the Chrome Tool bar, click the window where it enters numbers, and it selects the numbers already there. Allowing me to just enter the $numbers I want and it spits out the conversion. Now instead, if you click the number that is already there, it doesn't select the numbers so you can quickly overwrite or delete them. Instead you have to click and backspace delete the numbers, adding steps to what was more streamlined process before. It doesn't even allow you to drag and select the original number and replace. You literally have to press Backspace 4 f'in times every time you want to do a conversion. Please change it back to if you click the number, it selects the number. I will be moving to another, more streamlined currency converter if this isn't changed.

I don't know why people find this extension useful, maybe they don't know how to google e.g 100 usd to euro or things like that, because it just does conversion but not as easy as it shows in the video. It doesn't detect the currency (even if you include the symbol ) it just assumes a main/default currency and then assumes every number you gonna highlight in a webpage belongs to your main currency... which is useless because I want to know what other currencies equate in my main currency. E.g my main currency is euro if I go to a Norwegian sight and see 10,000 kr as a price tag I want to highlight that and have the equivalent in euro (now it just will tell me how much 10.000 euro is in usd rubles pounds and whatnot lol ) then (and without to have to manually change something in the settings ) if I go to e.g a british website that has e.g 345 pounds price tag and highlight that figure I want it to tell me how much euro that is.. again it will just assume its 345 euro (even if the pound symbol is included in the highlighting ) in usd pounds japanese yen etc... So its just a stupid exchange rate display and nothing automatic or pro about it... much faster results just by googling X usd to euro etc...

Very nice app, but it has wrong currency rates for USD/COP

It somehow stopped working? Now the numbers just don't convert and don't react in any way.

Nicely implemented but cannot convert Indonesian Rupiah. They separate 1000s with dot, so it says 8.000.000 for example, the extension takes it as 8 Rupiah instead of 8 million. There is no way for it to be configured. If it was more customizable so it worked I would give it 5 stars easy. Don't advertise with 195+ currencies when they don't work.

Running in the background and eating up memory, not very nice

I was a good app... but to change the basic currency to something else is too complicated. Still havent found how.

independently sets the basic currency from IP / very stupid decision

The extension only does the conversion from USD-> Other currencies. If the webpage has currency other then USD, it will assume it is USD and convert to other currencies. The only advantage of this extension is that you will have the exchange rates at a glance.

Works, but why doesn't it detect the currency using the currency sign or name on the page? Obvious feature completely missed

doesnt work, tried on steam from руб and mediamarkt from zł, didnt work at all

The drop-down widget, as well as the overlay widget are nice, but: -it should be able to do in-place conversions -it doesn't work correctly. I have only Euro as a currency, I choose a price on a page -say, £35- and it gives me "€:35"

Bad rates

This extension would be more useful if: 1) It could detect a currency string like "$2.95"/"2.95 USD" or "₿0.01"/"0.01 BTC" 2) It would automatically convert the selected currency to all other configured currencies. 3) It supported more cryptocurrencies (looking for ALGO, ATOM, and XTZ myself).

Where the btc price is? And not just btc but all the other cryptocurrencie prices?

The program outputs messages to the console - they are interfering. You will have to delete it. Do not output anything to the console.

It's got a lot of weird popups and unnecessary stuff, and doesn't always work.

Lost all my conversions - today is the 17th Jan 24 (GMT+8) Used to be quite reliable and quite configurable. MUCH prefer the older version

I rated this 5 star in Mar,30, 2020, but downgrading to 3 star the new update looks amazing and it's a good refresh, but each time I want to type a currency, it defaults to 1, which I have to delete, and that extra step of deleting the 1 before entering my value is not convenient. especially if the value I am about to enter does not start with one In addition, the input area now takes about 2 seconds to be editable on my Mac, on my Windows, it takes about 3 to 4 seconds to be editable

Automatic conversion on the website is not working anymore.

For some reason if I remove a currency and add it back. I get the correct conversion rate, BUT once I start converting the rates go crazy :( So I can't really use it. If I'm routing from the extension to the conversion page rate it shows there the correct ratio but the extension somehow freaks out :(

It's fine, but the "default currencies" feature, doesn't work properly. Even if I set GBP - EUR, at next restart of my PC, I have USD - EUR again. If I go in Options menu, it shows GBP - EUR correctly.

Works OK. It would be even better if converting multiple currencies at the same time is allowed.
