YOUR PRIVACY, OUR PRIORITY: A Transparent Look at How Our Extension Works When you install our extension, Chrome will warn you that it can read and change your data on the websites you visit. But let's break it down: Our extension works like a pair of sunglasses for your browser. It looks at the colors on a webpage and tweaks them to create a smooth, eye-friendly dark mode. Just like sunglasses need to 'see' the light to filter it, our extension needs to 'see' the webpage colors to adjust them. But here's the key point: we don't collect or store any of your data. Think of us like a paid TV service. You subscribe, enjoy the service (in our case, a great dark mode experience), and that's it. We don't sell your data - your privacy stays intact. Follow us on Twitter to keep up with the latest news around Night Eye and what we are planning ahead - https://twitter.com/nighteye_ext ———————— PRICING Meet Night Eye Lite, our forever-free version of Night Eye. No credit card or payment required - just install and explore. After the trial, you can opt for Night Eye Pro at $9/year, Pro Max at $14/year for power users, or stick with the free Night Eye Lite. For those seeking a one-time purchase, we have the Ultimate plan at $40. For a comprehensive overview of our pricing, visit: [https://nighteye.app/how-to-start/](https://nighteye.app/how-to-start/) ———————— SOME FEATURES ➤ OS/Browser Color scheme integration - sync Night Eye with your macOS/Windows dark themes ➤ Deep integration with websites that have their own built-in dark themes. ➤ Schedule dark mode to turn on and off ➤ Custom dark mode for PDFs ➤ Export/Import data between your browsers ———————— AVAILABLE MODES The extension allows you to quickly switch the three available modes ➤ Dark - Go into complete dark mode. All colors, small images and icons will be converted to give you the smoothest dark experience possible. ➤ Filtered - The websites’ colors will not be changed, but you can still adjust brightness, contrast, warmth and more. ➤ Normal - Get back to the normal browsing experience. ———————— CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS Any modifications you make such as contrast level adjustment, blue light filter and etc. can be applied to a single website or globally. ➤ Images - Night Eye analyses and converts only the small images and icons in a website to give you even smoother experience. Facebook posts and other significant media is not converted. ➤ Brightness / Saturation / Contrast - Adjust the brightness, the contrast and the saturation to match the recommended healthy levels and protect your eyes. The default setting for each is 50%, but you can customize each to the preferred levels ➤ Blue Light - Take care of your eyes by eliminating the blue light coming from your screen. Highly recommended especially during late night browsing. Simply slide to the preferred level of warmth. ➤ Dim - Extremely useful if you are working in dark space/room and the screen is the only source of light in the room. The default setting is set to 50%, but you can customize it as you please. ———————— ALWAYS AVAILABLE SUPPORT Built-in support system - we take pride into being available to provide reliable support and help you with any problems or issues you might experience with the extension. ———————— CHANGELOG We strive to bring you the best possible dark mode experience. In this update we’ve made several improvements and added one major feature - OS/Browser color scheme integration. You can monitor all our updates and what we do at https://nighteye.app/changelog ———————— PRIVACY MATTERS: Here's How We Handle Your Data We believe in transparency and want to explain our approach to privacy in the simplest terms. We don't use third-party analytics like Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data when you're using our extension. What we do store are your personalized settings for each website you visit using Night Eye. These settings are saved locally on your computer (localStorage), not on our servers. These settings include any adjustments you've made to enhance your browsing experience with Night Eye, such as changes to Colors, Images, Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Cold/Warm, and Dim. In essence, we only keep track of your visual preferences while you surf the web. its good, but it will set all pages to light mode whenever it is not being used, because it wants you to keep using it even when it is not needed. even when your trial has ended and you are forced to pay to keep using it, so they try to take away dark mode from you completely. its good but dont add it to your browser.

recent update broke certain websites. this code is too invasive now to where it breaks sensitive web pages. i have tried contacting support but haven't heard back in over 24 hours. I paid for the ultimate version where i should get support from the devs. edit: its been 48 hours and no response from them. they will steal your money and not give you support when they decide to break their plugin with "updates". the January 19th update isn't even on the change log on their website. straight trash, avoid at all costs.

It wants me to sign up for their subscription service and pay them $15 to $20 a year or $50 to buy the extension. That price is a ripoff for a browser extension that brings nothing new or unique features to the table when compared to all the other dark mode extensions. All the other dark mode extensions are free to use on every website. If I don't pay to use this extension, I can only use Night Eye on 5 websites. This is ridiculous considering there are better dark mode extensions than this one that are free to use on all website. Like the extensions Shade Dark Mode, Dark Reader, Dark Mode, Dark Night Mode..., are all free with better functionality that this pay/rent extension.

This is so stupid. I need a dark mode for 1 specific website. But within the settings, you can either set all to dark mode or normal which forces you to set manually every possible website to one state or another... How is that difficult to make a default for every website and add to whitelist the one needed manually?? Oh. My. God. Edit: is "normal" supposed to not overrule the specific websites theme? Because currently some website are set in light mode instead of dark mode just by having the expansion (even turned off)

i will change my rating if they send me a discount code to reduce price of the one time payment plan

I'd give ZERO stars if I could. Charging people to have dark mode on more than only FIVE websites is insane! DO NOT USE THIS EXTENSION!!!

Baitware. Does what it says... Until the trial runs out. I didn't keep it long enough to experience it after the free "Ultimate" trial. It's a program that changes CSS on websites... Why does it cost money by default? I can understand a subscription fee for things like support, syncing, premium filters, etc... But giving a free trial by default, without telling people right off that they're in a trial, and rug pulling after the trial runs out. I don't like that. It's scummy. For everyone looking for a dark mode extension. It's 2024 at the time of this review. There are so many better free options out there. Many included directly in the browser.

★☆☆☆☆2024-09-27

Once the trial runs out, Night Eye forces "Light Mode" onto all websites you visit, even websites with a native Dark Mode!!!!!!! 🤣🤣💀💀 Like bro RELAX lmao this is surely against TOS

★☆☆☆☆2024-09-24
Gilad Tsog

Will force all the sites to use bright mode after the free trial ends. I didnt understand why linkedin and fb and so are keeping turning from dark mode to bright mode after I refresh. After I removed this extension - everything was fixed.

Now requires payment for more than 5 sites to be in dark mode. Not worth the money when there are free alternatives that do the same thing.

★☆☆☆☆2024-09-13

I recently tried this extension expecting some decent dark mode capabilities, but I was utterly disappointed. First off, it's a trial version, which was already a red flag. The free version only allows you to apply dark mode to five websites—really? In a world where there are so many better options available, this feels like a joke. Plus, I found that the dark effect is limited websites it does support isn’t even consistent, one of the pages the text is all purple. This extension seems to be more about wanting money than enhancing your browsing experience. I guess if you give Chrome store enough money up front you can get "featured". In summary, save yourself the time and hassle. There are far superior dark mode extensions out there that don’t come with these ridiculous limitations. Smack this developer across the back of the head trying to get payments. Don’t make the install—just skip it!

good but not free

It's already bad that you can only use it with a list of 5 websites, but on top of that, it whitens other websites that have dark themes by themselves if they're not on that list of 5...

★☆☆☆☆2024-08-22
S G

As soon as you install they want you to go premium and pay otherwise you have to activate free which is limited to 5 sites. No thanks.

as soon as i installed i got a boat load of spam emails

When I have it on, my YouTube loads slower, but when I turn it off It keeps changing my Youtube to light mode even though its set to off. I even delisted Youtube in the settings but that just didn't work for some reason, idk why they would have a setting to delist specific sights butt not have it actually do anything. extreamly anoying

Paid extension, which is insane Sadly does not work well for opera either, covers the side bars and makes them look very weird.. it also makes everything load extremely slow so i just get more annoyed with it.
