I'm really not understanding this. The rewards for the userbase are dreadful. The best is the gift cards, except they are released at a certain time and gone in a second. I tried earlier for the first time and they were gone before I could even try to obtain one. The vast majority of people who use this are not "rewarded" at all.

No rewards for US users. UK reward prices have been inflating. Promised US redemptions for YEARS and YEARS and have never announced any redemptions still. Cannot be trusted. Don't waste your time.

Basically a scam. You can collection points but the app is designed to stop you getting anything meaningful from them. If you email you get a nice response saying that it will become easier to get the rewards you want. However, in the many months I've tried the app, they've actually made it harder to get meaningful rewards. They appear to be after your data and offering very little in return. Very disappointing.

This is rubbish! Yes, the reward points do mount up, but the reward system stinks. You can donate to charity - Brilliant, but you can only donate 1 point at a time(1p) how about a box you can fill in to make your own amount? You can join an auction to buy a £3 gift card - you have to wait until the auction start time to start bidding, you can't raise your bid until you are outbid, the auction lasts 7 hours so you would have to keep checking to monitor your bid if you really wanted it. You can buy low value discounts off selected vendors - you can get the same value codes elsewhere on the web. You can buy gift cards - This would be great if you didn't have to wait until it became available(usually 7 hours away) AND there wasnt ONLY ONE on offer. I will be removing this

Total waste of time. Easy to earn points but you can't actually buy anything with them. It's a nice idea, but it just isn't worth it. If I allow a company to use my data, they should at least offer me something in return for it.

this extension breaks a lot of sites, causing them to not load properly by blocking content from loading such as CSS and JS files.

Horrible experience, after getting one voucher it is impossible to get another one. Vouchers don't appear on my screen but are available for other users at the same time. Regardless, the "marketplace" is shocking, with most items only making 2 items available every week. Now, do the maths - 2 items every week for 20,000+ users? Tried contacting support but got ignored for over month now. Uninstalling and never going back. Cant believe I asked my friends to sign up for this waste of time.

I chose a 50% of reward for a site, and it gave me a link to it's sales page; that anyone could access... What's the point in spending points to give a link that anyone can use?

I would be giving this a 5 star review had it not been for the number of issues and poor service I have experienced. They claim you can gain full access to the marketplace once you invite 2 friends and they become verified. It took close to 5 weeks for their verification to happen when I was told by customer service several times it would just take a few days. Once the verifications came through I thought "it took a while but at least I can get on the marketplace now". Nope. I now have 3 verifications and no marketplace access. I have tried contacting customer service on every platform that they're on and I am getting no replies. I want to love this extension and the idea is great but until they sort out the bugs and actually reply to people on their chat portal it's simply not worth the effort.

lets you rack up loads of "tokens" but does not let you spend them. deceptively, puts a countdown clock on rewards and then keeps resetting them. seems to have something to do with social media "referrals" so success depends on having a big futile social media presence or being an avid internet chain mailer. none of this is made clear. cannot believe Sky News let these cowboys on their channel

Lies, "complete this for tokens" will not get you tokens waste of time.

Won't let me use the store despite being a UK user and inviting multiple friends. Avoid this scam.

Nice idea but functionally unusable. It makes Google Chrome on my Macbook run slower than I've ever seen. Took ages for me to work out what was causing the problem, lots of headaches. Booooo 👎

Never get a single good from marketplace. Sold out right after counting down finished every time.

Waste of time, just use an adblock. They say the marketplace only works in the UK, funnily enough, that's where I am. They say you need to have two friends sign up and verify, the link doesn't work. Yes the ad's are replaced with mostly the same pug picture, i'd rather have no ads at all.

SCAM, all the reviews are probably paid, do not trust them

I am only keeping this on my browser for a sense of accomplishment from having it installed from near enough the start. I have yet been able to cash out and I feel that this is so scammy

Slow, useless customer service. Don't even respond to help tickets. Won't let me use the marketplace despite being a UK user and having referred multiple friends.

I'm sure it works fine but I think the idea is highly immoral. How (I think) the system should work: websites are free to use, the website gets to show you targetted advertisements and the revenue the creator gets from views and clicks is payment for the service they provided you, the work they put in for you and the cost of running. How this works: all advertisements get blocked, preventing the free website from earning revenue. Instead, yet another advertising service, just like Google and Amazon but with even greater access to your browsing habits, swipes almost all of the money. And for what? The fraction of a cent that you get for interacting with the advertisment. It's not just immoral to create ad-blocking extensions; you as a user are preventing creators from monetizing their creations even though you get most of them for free. All you have to do is let the advertisement sit there on the page - this isn't 2005: the advertisement almost certainly won't jump out at you or start flashing red and yellow telling you've won $1m.

Have to spam your friends before you can earn anything, avoid, basically a pyramid scheme

Seems shady. They force you to invite 2 friends who have to also sign up. Also where are these ads being shown? On top of other peoples websites?

Gener8 is a pyramid scheme, plain and simple. In order to access the marketplace and exchange tokens, the user must invite 2 other "friends" and those friends must generate 1 token each. Only then does the user have access to the marketplace where they can exchange tokens. This is the very definition of a pyramid scheme.

to me it looks like a scam, as there is no way to cash out. I've been using it for a while and when I ask information to support@gener8ads.com.au they are always so vague and they doesn't give any specifics or details on how to cash out. I will definitely remove it. Plus it slow my connection. Very bad, I am not happy with it.

It's literally a scam. You install it, use it.. use it... but since i've installed it about 2 month ago, their "cash out" feature on the day i installed said- coming soon and still to this day it says- coming soon..... So it's literally just a scam. Install it, use it, they get money cuz people watch and see THEIR ads and you get nothing out of it.... Nice try, i'm done with this and I don't recommend anyone else to get it. They will NEVER add the cash out feature. It's just a simple scam :)

I'm on my PC everyday for a long time. This would have been ideal but within the 8 months of offering this there is still no way to cashout. My suggestion is to continue to use adblock until they actually allow you to cashout your tokens.

Is this broken? 3 days and 0 tokens, do i need to not skip youtube ads or something, because if that's the case this won't catch on.

As of now I'm pretty fed up with it. First I was stoked and signed up because who wouldn't want to make some cash by looking at ads? I uninstalled uBlock for this and now im going back to it after several months of having Gener8 installed. Sorry but until there's a cash out option, i do not see this being worth using. I have about 2k tokens and no actual money from it. I'll come back when people start getting paid from it. Having to deal with intrusive ads (both gener8 and non-gener8 ads) and not getting paid for it vs using uBlock and not having to deal with annoying ads at all..I know what I'm picking right now.

About to uninstall, this is basically a scam until they have a conversion rate for the tokens.

Locking the marketplace behind inviting 2 friends was a very, very poor decision.

just shows a blank screen whenever i get the extension in chrome. when i try to go into preferences, market place or anything else the screen is just blank. Ive tried to reinstall but still not working

Not a bad idea, i'm surprised (just a bit) that there aren't more like it. However there are some major issues: 1. Some sites are slowed to a near halt until gener8 ads are loaded (after which the site works ok until the next page visited or refresh). 2. This looks more like a MLM scam since you need 2 friends from the UK to activate the marked and i haven't managed to find anyone to do it since everyone is happy with their own adblockers and are not interested in something like this. I am up to 450+ tokens that are absolutely useless since you can't get anything other than some shady app discounts and subscription based services like Gadget Discovery Club and a few others. For now, i cannot possibly recommend this in it's current form since you should be allowed to spend tokens on the marketplace even without referrals since you are already making them money with the ads that you are viewing. I will be uninstalling it since i gave it more than enough time.

Potential but at the moment is pretty dodgy. 1. To start you need to invite 2 friends to even cash out your earnings but the problem is at this point you don't even know if the service is legit and if you want your friends on it. 2. Even after you invite 2 friends good luck getting the money, i've managed to cash out 1 £5 amazon gift card and have enough points for a second. As they are limited availability they only release gift cards every 2-4 days so i've been setting alarms for when the giftcards are out. 4 times i have not been there, waiting, as the timer hit zero only to find that they have instantaneously sold out. Call me suspicious but I highly doubt 4 times in a row every single person has been faster than me at claiming every single available giftcard that soon after release. 3. The Chrome add-in slowed down my browser very significantly. 4. The add-in stopped giving me credits after 27 ads seen for some reason even though it was still showing me ads. sidenote, the tabs addon seems to work much better and not slow down browsing and continue to give me credits. So overall ill be deleting the add-ons and have probably lost the 60 credits (£6) i still have in my account as it looks like ill never be able to redeem them.

Pretty good extension, I personally haven't noticed my pc slowing down any. Other users seemed to have experienced this, but I would say that it will get better the more that the extension is used by people Also they promised a 50 coin boost if you left a 5 star review which i did and have changed to review.

It's okay but iv'e invited two of my friends, and says it's only available to UK customers even though i live in the UK

It's a great concept but at the moment it significantly slows page loads on practically every news/article based website and there is the whole vision around earning the credit and buying things with it, but the 'marketplace' empties within about .2 seconds every time it refreshes. I've spoken to the team about this twice now and it's just a pointless exercise using this app to earn a currency you can't actually spend. They get all the benefits of collecting your usage data and tracking data whilst actually giving nothing back in return. At least they advertise as if they do, but if you personally want to get anything out of this system or marketplace other than slower webpages and the odd picture of a Pug, you'll be completely out of luck.

I have been using it for about a month now: 1. It does SLOW DOWN your computer, noticeably... 2. IMPOSSIBLE to cash out your tokens as items only available for less than one second. Have put alarms and been clicking 'buy' on the second and never got anything. Has pottential but wont recomend using it for now

I'm not impressed. i've seen it go up for abit to like 1.06 then later on it just resets itself back to 1.00! Third day this has happened, i'm not happy.

EDIT: I'm lowering my score and adding to this review as in the last few weeks it seems that the marketplace has not been re-stocked at all. Or it has been restocked so infrequently, and with such little stock, that it's almost impossible to trade your tokens for anything worthwhile unless you're constantly refreshing the page 24/7. If they can't even afford to offer the incentives anymore, then it's not worth the browser lag. I'll probably give it another week to see if they actually start populating the store again... Original Review: I work with the web all day, and gener8 is a great alternative to ad blocking for me. If I'm going to have loads of ads thrown at me from 9-5 then I may as well get my cut. So far in 2 weeks i've managed to redeem 2 amazon £5 vouchers just by looking at ads, and referring a few friends. I already have more than enough for another, but I might start stockpiling my points now to see what else I can get in the future.

Tried this for a couple weeks, still at 0.00 tokens. Have completed profile to 100%, which supposedly increases token gain rate. I reckon bogus. However it doesn't slow me down or have any other noticeable effect, so will give it a while longer.

This sounded great, but...it asks for a lot of information and to "complete" their profile was a bit of a task, especially when I did not know if I liked it or not. I did send to 2 friends (which appears to be more what this extension wants to do rather than what it was advertised to do) and turned off my ad blocker. The first day I used it I had NO tokens awarded. I have now used it for 2 days and now I can NOT even get it to open the screen... it just pulses with their arrow like thingies!! If it would actually do what it is advertised to do it would be a huge improvement. I am an IT professional and do not find this user friendly. Will give it one more day and then probably uninstall it and put my ad blocker back in place!! Perhaps it was a scam after all!!

i close my browser..after i open it i saw all my token are gone

Worked for the first ten mins or so then i closed my browser.. tokens gone now i dont earn any on any website that displays ADS. Great idea, poor execution. I guess i will wait to see if support helps, if not then this will not be updated.

Been using Gener8 for 6-8 months and on earning my first 50 Points I was able to buy an Amazon Gift card successfully. However, since then I've never been able to buy anything at all for Months on end and Each time I try to buy & the clock reaches Zero, I click buy and everything as Instantly Gone, This happens Multiple time per-week on Every single item, Every time I try to buy. I'm now one in many who are coming round in believing the first Purchase was the BAIT,.... Reel the customer in and allow them too buy one first purchase and disallow from buying again. I realise these items come out of your pocket as you've mentioned before, though, clearly, are you telling me in all this time, you've no other way of funding the gifts?... I see less Gener8 ads these days, as if companies are dropping this project,... Is Gener8 dying? Plus, Gener8 can't tell me that for 6-8 Months I've just been that Unlucky, every single time, multiple times a week, every single purchase is rejected by some Error or ALL SOLD OUT Instantly,... Come on, Don't Fracking insult us here! I don't buy it and if the Promise's Gener8 aren't upheld soon or an honest Explanation is explained soon,... I'll be the next one filing a complaint along with many others as this is coming across more like a SCAM as more time goes by us.

It Stated log on and get your £5 amazon voucher from Marketplace...... errr... nada there!? Does seem to slow browser and no indication how Gener8 tabs earns you more rewards?

It's interesting in the beginning, and the ads are good, tokens are easy to get without doing much. But cashing in rewards are hard, items have low quantity available and sold out too fast, the waiting time also has been increasingly longer, some even take 3-4 days, not to mention some has restriction of max 1 quantity, or max 1 per week.
