Description

The 3Dsellers.com eBay Fee Calculator Chrome Extension makes calculating selling fees and profits a snap: How much will you profit from a sale? How do costs of shipping and handling, as well as your purchase price affect your earnings? Find out with the eBay Fee Calculator and even see what it would take for the same sale to break even! What's more, this eBay Fee Calculator is famous for researching competitor pricing. For example, it is a valuable extension for retailers who want to see if they can get away with selling an item at the same price as their competitors. Simply enter your (or supplier's) details to see if it is profitable to sell at a similar price! To use, visit an eBay item and open the extension to insert the item's price and item information automatically. If charging the buyer for shipping, you can include a shipping price as well. Most importantly, you can enter the cost you pay for the item and shipping, select which payment processor you'll be using (eBay Managed Payments or PayPal), and view how much profit you will collect from the sale. The eBay calculator also has several features that allow you to quickly see how your fees will be affected with either PayPal or eBay Managed Payments. The custom-fee options give even more insight into what's happening with this calculation, and switching the payment option will apply default fee data for your selection! After entering your selling information, the middle panel on the plugin will display your total eBay and payment fees, a breakeven price, expenses, and profit.

Use caution when you are using this, I don't recommend using it to calculate your expected profit if you are working with thinner margins. It's a good tool to get a ball park idea. The reason for this is as others have mentioned. 1. eBay now calculates it's managed payments fees directly into the category fees, not individually. 2. eBay's fees are category based and vary pretty significantly ranging from 2.5% to 14.95%. This would be an accurate tool if it kept a database of all category %'s and used those %'s when calculating the costs. This would of course require you to choose which category you are listing it in. If not a requirements at least there should be an option for this for those who need to rely on the calculator when calculating profits.

Pros: -Automatically pulls item price -Simple layout Cons: -Incorrectly adds managed payment fees on top of final value fees (these are included in final value fees) -Does not use the category of the item to apply the correct final value fee % -Does not take into account any ebay store subscriptions with adjusted final value fees If this extension had a simple settings menu that allowed users to pick which payment processor they use and any store subscriptions they have, it would be much more useful.

This tool would be a thousand times better if it read the category of the item and then showed the appropriate managed payment fees for items in that category as currently it only takes the price from the listing which isn't great. This would also benefit from having a section to enter your promoted listings advertising percentage as this greatly affects the profit.
