Doesn't work in Opera, as it seems to suggest

Shady payware doesn't disclose they want money for it.

Instead of simply asking for a donation it now becomes adware and the creator will now restrict features. How incredibly petty to charge for something that was free for so long and to retroactively ding people who had it for years. Good luck with this bad idea, but I'm looking for an alternative and uninstalling this.

It was free for quite a long while. Now either the user pays or they get bombarded with annoying pop-ups very frequently. I will keep the extension disabled for a bit to see if the maintainers change their mind, and if they do not, I will delete it and forget about it. Do not use this extension until that change is reversed. It was neat but not too much; it's not worth paying anything for, especially when I am asked to do it or get bombarded with a pop-up.

This has been working flawlessly for the few years i have had it. but out of the blue they have turned it into what i would call addware. Every hour or so pops up a new window asking me to buy a subscription or lifetime whatever. Will never be downloading this again. While i may have considered donating somewhere down the line if the option was presented better, This feels more like harassment than anything else...

For years an excellent extension, but suddenly a bombardment of popups asking me to buy. Pity...., will uninstall.....

Most of the time it seems to work. But Now, you ALSO have to get used to the author's BARRAGE of advertising!! YIKES!! — Interesting Strategy: IF you just Love being Pestered!!

Worked amazingly for years, now takes seconds to load and gives me a popup about every 5 minutes asking me to buy it. NTY. Uninstalled.

I used to recommend this, but now it give you an annoying popup from time to time. Another case of a developer getting greedy and making a perfectly working tool handicapped. Oh well, there's always alternatives.

Didn't work for me. I set it up to show a file:/// url but a blank tab is all I got.

Has been a great extension but the latest update (1 Aug '25) seems to be glitchy and certain webpages don't load correctly. I thought it was a general browser issue but after testing individual extensions, this one is the culprit so now I cannot use it. :(

Just tried this app after finding it on the developers website. I am trying to set the default search engine to DuckDuckGo, which is set as the default in my settings. I haven't been able to do that. Otherwise, it looks very impressive.

I liked it much, much more when it didn't require copy & paste permission. I can't read the code but even if it's now harmful, once the permission is granted the developer could always change its behaviour in any future update. What a shame, I found it very useful. Please remove c&p requirement!

I reset Opera Version:79.0.4143.22, and am trying to get Bing to stick in the extension. No matter what I do, it keeps reverting to chrome-extension://mjfahldkpjhcnfbbmdhpjolcjpcfhcpj/google.html after I hit Save. It was working before! Am I doing something completely stupid? TY!

It's not bad, but it's barely an improvement (for specific users that want Google services plastered all over their newtab page) over the default that I'm left wondering why? I mean it doesn't even support "themes" (images) or even different search engines. Was pretty much just looking for a blank newtab page that supported my theme so I didn't have to see that ugly search bar and other icons. Actually that's a lie Microsoft Edge's theme support is really buggy and keeps regressing to having bars on the side of my newtab image which is why I was looking for something else.

Really like it, but only problem lies in the fact that if make a new window it falsely activates erasing my current screen and making it the new tab screen. (it makes the new tab screen on my current page rather than the new window I just made especially annoying if watching videos etc.
