Inkscape on rollApp

fake, just install it with "sudo apt install inkscape" on chromebook linux

very hard to use when you finally get the app open. You cant even delete the app. :(

Horriable App. Really Slow and doesn't allow to save your work unless you buy their plan. Wish they would go out of business.

RollApp seems to be abusing the Inkscape license. I hope someone else comes in to offer a much more reasonable alternative soon.

i can just bootleg the program that works better, this one wants to give me a 7 day trial and then charge me. no thx. go pound sand.

This is completely ridiculous for rollapp to be profiteering off inkscape's opensource software.

Slowest program I have ever tried to use. I am deleting and never using again. This is the second chance I have given this program so shame on me.

Really Slow!!! I tried to use it for about 5 minutes and gave up because it was a several second delay on every action.

Very slow and won't let you save files unless you pay rollApp it's ransom. This is supposed to be a FREE open-source app! Removing now and will never use again!

sealed interface's review sums it up well. Inkscapes roots are open source and it should stay that way. Companies like rollApp shouldn't be allowed to get away with selling subscriptions to open source software like this.

RollApp is is horribly mistreating Inkscape by charging users for even the most simple features, like saving files. Inkscape is free and open-source software, but RollApp has managed to circumvent the GPL license legally through "service as a software substitute" (see the GNU page on this: https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/who-does-that-server-really-serve.html). Because technically RollApp is merely running Inkscape on their servers, they are able to charge users for basic functionality without modifying any of the source code. What RollApp is doing goes against everything that Inkscape stands for when it comes to free and open-source software. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to prevent RollApp from mistreating Inkscape. In addition, a number of the five-star ratings on RollApp's Inkscape page were completely blank, which are an obvious indicator that RollApp is inflating its own ratings to promote its products. Beware of some of the five-star ratings here, RollApp may have started inflating its ratings here as well.

Did not open AI file. I did not bother to try and open other file types. Big claims by the app builder but it didnt work for me. Hopefully it can open .txt file

Decided to skip this app after reading all of the reviews saying it was not working. This should not be a free app it is a trial and requires an account created with the developer. It is a 14 day trial and not free. Very misleading and based off the comments it's unclear to almost everyone. This should have been disclosed at the top of the Overview and that it was a trial, not in the details where you have to scroll down: "Access to full features of the application requires creating an account with rollApp.com. Once signed-up, you will get a 14-day free trial. After that time, you will be able to continue using the app for free in read-only mode."

Extremely slow, can't even paste images into it. Really needs improvment.

The app works but it's just useless when you can't save or export anything.

Completely worthless. The ui is horrid and the app is completely non functional without membership. Even a supposed "export to PNG" function just hangs and doesn't work, even though it doesn't explain why it won't work. Inkscape used to be a fave. no longer.

Can not re-size window. Very slow. Also, not a free app, as necessary features are for premium users only.

It was great when you could download to dropbox. As of March 10 (for me), this essential feature has been removed, rendering this app useless unless you pay for it. If that's the case, it shouldn't be disguised as a free app.

Could only use 3 times. Closing one window closed all inkscape windows. Do not use.

On Chromebook it's not working at all. Can't resize it - it stays tiny in the corner of the screen. Can't go fullscreen. When trying to do anything the window resizes itself constantly. I've used the app in the past but now it's unusable.

Unusable. Terrible.

I don't like this app compared to standard desktop inkscape. It somehow manages to lag even more than the desktop inkscape, and the features are somewhat rearranged, which irks me everytime I go to the right to click undo before I remember 'Oh it's on top now'.

Terrible. Starts with an ad, then you can't resize the window. Somehow, this wonderful piece of software was render unusable. Install Crouton and use it natively in Linux.

So hard to get to the actual inkscape app (rollapp, arg); and it oh so slow ! (inkscape on usb key is quite more usable)

Not cool to make me go through all the hassle with rollapp and then not take me to inkscape. When I finally search, find and launch the app, it's horribly slow. Uninstalled.

To slow to be useful. Paid for a subscription to see if it was any better but it's just as bad. Your much better having a computer running OS X, Windows, or Linux and using chrome remote desktop to log in and draw.

Tried Inkscape years ago and it's as clunky as ever. Made worse by being hosted on this rollapp thing where every action has a major delay.

Great idea, less than stellar application. It's laggy and wont go fullscreen. Not terrible not great, just ok

Inkscape is a great program, a robust vector editor that I would recommend to anyone. rollApp is also a great cloud platform, but apps like inkscape tend to lag, especially noticeable if you are doing something mouse-sensitive like drawing. If you can install inkscape on your desktop, I would recommend doing so.

It was okay, but it had a major delay in motion, and was a bit difficult to use. Overall though, there are many tool options on this and that is one pro. It would be good for simple tasks, but may not work well for serious tasks.
