LastPass: Free Password Manager

When it actually works it is a great tool to have. Been very buggy over the last several months. I have had to go back to writting passwords down.

very hard to use nowadays. feels like they're making it especially harder and harder to login if you're not a paying customer. and it's been like this for a long time. it the actually the firstPass that gives you a headche and the lastPass I want to use. it's a pain

The worst password manager among the major providers. Poor customer support and ignorance when reporting problems.

When I log in with my fingerprint, it opens my vault in a new tab, but the extension itself doesn't log in, so autofill doesn't work. Clearing my cache only fixes it for one session — as soon as I reopen Chrome, the problem returns. I have to log in to every site I use manually, and autofill is gone. Extremely annoying and not what I'm paying for!!!

My master password suddenly stopped working, and it reverted to an old email address I no longer have access to, so I am locked out of my account. You also can't access support without logging in, so there is nothing I can do. I've been using this for at least 10 years without any major issues till today. Now I'm stuck resetting all my passwords, if I can, or creating new accounts. Hard lesson. It's fine to make things secure, but if there's no support when something goes wrong, you are taking gamble. I'll never go back to LastPass. Trusting them was a huge mistake.

Poor. The launch buttons never work. Fix the issue.

Can you stop doing this -> Login attempt blocked. It is hard to get it working after unblocking.

Horrible plugin. Keep signing off, every time "finding" a new device or location and asking to jump through the hoops to login again.

I did everything exactly as required...and it still won't work

For some reason I'm having to uninstall and reinstall my browser extension at least once a week if not 2-3 times a week to get it to work correctly with Chrome. When it stops working, nothing happens when I click on any of the buttons, but once I reinstall the browser extension, everything works correctly again. Please FIX THIS ASAP!!!

Virtually unusable. Logs you out every five minutes. I have been a paid subscriber for many years and LastPass has got progressively worse over time. Tried fixing the problem with LastPass support, they got me to run many debug methods but the person I dealt with only gave cookie-cutter responses and did not read the info I provided.

It just doesn't work. This has been going on for a while. I waited and waited. I don't want to have to change password managers. But I just don't know what to do anymore. I really can't function without a working password manager with a working chrome extension. I don't really have extra time until after the holidays. If this hasn't resolved by then, I will set aside the time to find a new manager. PLEASE FIX

Please fix the extension for Chrome...this is becoming very unreliable. Why am I paying for this? Is it time to find a new Password Manager?

It totally breaks internal chromes PassKey functionality when you don't agree to use LastPass. They substitute own window but this window when cancelled does not call original navigator functions correctly.

I can't copy the TOTP. It's not working. It also doesn't have the feature of setting up the TOTP in the extension. I am thinking of cancelling my subscription. Bitwarden is cheaper and better.

I'm locked out of my accounts and the instructions are useless for recovery. It says it sent me a passcode that I don't get, it says a person will be contacting me that never does, it says that certain necessary support is available for paid subscriptions (which I have) and then wants me to log in to verify. DUH, that's why I'm trying to get support, if I could log in I wouldn't be here at all.

this would be great if it even worked half the time. autofill rarely kicks in and the extension signs me out multiple times daily, and when in the vault i have noticed several passwords straight up vanish from my private folder. just does not work and gets worse with every update. editing to add: I have to remove this extension and re-add it to get autofill to work still--functionality seems to have declined further since I initially wrote this review last month.

We've had lastpass for years and I recommend it to everyone! I am disappointed with the extension breaking. I need to remove and redownload the extension in order for it to work. As a homeschool mom of 6, the inconvenience is making our homeschool day harder. I pay for this product and it does not seem like it is a priority for them to fix this problem. This problem has been going on since September! What is the point for paying for a program that can't do its job?

Accidentally bought a second license and they won't refund the purchase. Overall the UI is outdated & clunky as well. There are many other alternatives out there like 1password. Would not recommend using lastpass.

It seems to not work anymore

It was brilliant. However, it DOES NOT work anymore, every time I try to log in it doesn't. I have to restart my browser and start all over again. It is extremely frustrating.

WHy is no one from Last Pass helping us who cannot open it now? What should we do? Is there no customer service?

It's hard to believe that a company like LastPass has such a big bug in its use of Passkey. Not only does it not work, but it also breaks any other security provider that uses Passkey. There's no other option but to uninstall it. Fix it so you don't interfere with your users' usability.

recent update to lastpass passkeys broke apple passkey integration on chrome on macos. even though I’m already using my Apple passkeys and I’m very happy with it, your last pass is INTERFERING. Read that again INTERFERING with Apple passkeys on chrome on macOS. Interfering in these 2 ways 1. from using my already included Apple passkeys for various websites such as Amazon, Netflix etc 2. Offering to save passkeys for websites at login even though I already have passkeys in my apple iCloud and deliberately preventing from using it on chrome on macOS. Solution needed: Give us an option to completely disable passkeys like you have for last pass teams or business administrators for regular free users.

terrible, it's bugged and won't send me the 2FA code then locks me out. (and I can receive the lock out email).

Do yourself a favor, find something else. LastPass has had a large data breach a few years back. LastPass couldn't save a valid record of my LastPass account setup! When LastPass asked me if I wanted to save the password to their site I said yes. The password record included info from OTHER non-related sites. Did NOT capture my password. And now I have had to set up LastPass twice. Because it can't save passwords.

UI designed by programmer, i guess, proper 2000’s feel. Compeltely unreliable, it cannot recognise the previously device every now and then, which turns the promoted „last password“ experience in 12-factor authentication nightmare: you must click on the link they send you via e-mail, but how enter the inbox, when the lastpass is refusing to login and give you password to access the inbox. User Franz Kafka likes this. Go and find another device and pray it is still recognised and you will be able to confirm that you are you and the device is the device… And the extension! A joke. Logs you out randomly. Fine, i got used to live with that. But there is an upgrade: you click on it and and it shows you blank white square instead of dropdown. Very useful. So you go to lastpass.com – sounds proud right? Another blank page with login button in the right top corner. You click it and (take a deep breath) nothing happens! The best comes now: they are paid for this! I think i won’t recognise the next invoice.

PLEASE DONT DOWNLOAD THIS SAD EXCUSE OF AN EXTENSION, ALL BOTTED FAKE REVIEWS SUPPORT IS NOT REAL. THEY DONT SEND 90% OF THE EMAILS. CANT LOGIN EVEN WITH THE RIGHT PASS. THEY STEAL ALL YOUR DATA.

I have to re-login every time I open the browser and logging in with the extension and putting the Yubikey only works on the website, not with the extension popup. Then after I log in, I have to restart the browser again and log in a 2nd time or else it doesn't find any sites.

LastPass Chrome Extension forces error messages in the Chrome Developer Console on any page, including localhost. It's been like this for at the past year. If LastPass is this sloppy with their Chrome extension tooling, how are they at keeping our data safe?

A Trusted Vault That Betrayed Me! I lost thousands of dollars worth of crypto because of the LastPass breach. My Ledger recovery phrase was stored only in a LastPass secure note — not on any device or cloud — and yet my wallet was drained. LastPass never clearly warned users that their entire encrypted vaults were exfiltrated and could be brute-forced over time. The communication was slow, vague, and dismissive. And even after sharing full evidence, they refused to take any responsibility. I trusted LastPass to protect my most sensitive data. Instead, I got silence, denial, and financial loss. If you care about security, look elsewhere.

I've been stuck in some kind of loop where I cant sign in on any of my browsers. Pretty much useless now

After forgetting my LastPass master password I had no way of getting back into my LastPass account their support links weren't helpful the emails were no better ether. Given the last pass hack years ago I have now resorted to tracking all my passwords the old fashioned way. This app is just not reliable.

This is a horrible password manager that has just been getting worse. On my PC, it keeps demanding I enter the password, and then it tells me I must either try to log in again or look for an email from LastPass -- an email that never arrives. Meanwhile, i enter the EXACT SAME password on my Android phone, and it works. So it's now worthless on my PC -- I have to use my Android phone to see passwords for other sites and then nd manually enter them on my PC. AS soon as I have a break in my schedule, I'm switching to another app. This used to be a good ap. Too bad they ruinedkit.

cannot delete multiple passwords. if the app cannot handle such a basic task, how anybody can trust them with your passwords. everybody should stop using it and switch to google chrome passwords.

I can't find a way to open a proper ticket. Users of my app are unable to use the autofill & login when they have this extension enabled. It is posting to the wrong endpoint when logging in. Is it somehow incompatible with Spring Security? The j_spring_security_check is trying to post directly to our index page (only available after authentication) instead of our backend login page. Why is this extension storing index.html as the login URL? Thank you.

Now became piece of $hit... keeps logging out. will be switching to new tool soon.

keeps logging me out and every time trying to login asking for mail verification

When I logged in today all of my secure notes disappeared. I am a regular user. I am also unable to get a contact number or email. All of my project lives here.

Loading Very slow and so much of lag.

Tried to login in my account, don't receive an email to verify login activity. used to be reliable, now very buggy.

Used the free version for years but now need multiple PCs and Android devices sharing a common set of passwords, so I $ubscribed. For the past month or so on the Windows (Chrome) PCs, it has kept logging me out so that I had to log back in every time I need a username/password. Now, it doesn't work at all. It doesn't autofill anything anywhere and I can't open the vault ( no dropdown at all when icon is clicked). As for Android, I can't even describe the problems but they may all stem from the same constantly being logged out. . . Worst of all, I have no way to retrieve my username/passwords so I can't even go to a different password manager! Unless they pay some attention to the numerous complaints about these issues and fixt the app, avoid this like the plague!

Logo blocks so many non-login related fields on web forms. Logs me out within a few days for no reason whatsoever. Love to get themselves breached. Signing in takes 3 minutes to load and frequently have to do the annoying "verify location" which then you have to RETYPE the long password again. Elementary level developers on this team, it's cute.
