Sorry - terrible extension. It is configured by json file or via UI. No idea. It's a beta version I hope. I tried with https://app.wallabag.it
Can't get the URL to verify. Not even clear what the URL should even be. very poor install doco.
I really want this to work, but the documentation is so chaotic and incomplete that I can't figure it out. I got one step closer to filling in the parameters and secrets by first downloading a file, then filling in the parameters and then uploading it... at least then you get to see the fields that the manual shows... but there is no way to find out what URL you have to fill in if you are on the hosted version. I tried all possible combinations I could find, but it's a mystery what you would have to fill in there. I'm sure it works when you have the right configuration...there is no way of finding out what that is unfortunately because none of the docs will tell you.
This extension does not work on Chrome for me. It is impossible to verify the URL and therefore the boxes to enter the tokens do not appear. One Firefox, the extension works correctly, so it's not me. Is the Chrome extension even manifest V3?
Doesn't work, there's no way to get the "verify url" to work, it's unusable.
As a user of wallabag.it via browser I just wanted to do it more easily via extension. However the explanations about client-ID, client-Secret whatever and the extension: URL and some JSON but nothing from the webpage corresponds to anything in the extension. So I just had to uninstall the extension. It doesn't explain how to connect my account with the extension at all.
Can't get token. Useless to me.
No go with Chrome (Chromebook) or Vivaldi (Chromium, Windows) and the hosted Wallabag service at app.wallabag.it. The API token is not obtained in the extension setup process despite Client ID and Client Secret and user ID and user password being supplied. Without the API token, the extension can't talk to the server. By contrast, I'm successfully using that hosted Wallabag service with the Readkit app for iOS. (Just to say it out loud, that app doesn't use this extension.)
Doesn't work with Chrome + wallabag.it
option page dont work!
No clear instructions on how to set up. I'm fairly tech savvy and could not figure it out. This might be a good app, but they need to work on making the set up instructions clear.
Total fail. The Extension Options page has a Check URL button that does nothing, so it can't be configured.
Same problem as Don Robertson. Went to the link in your reply. It said "First of all you have to create a new client on your wallabag installation. How to do that is described in Documentation" WHERE IN THE DOCUMENTATION???
Buggered if I can work it out. Support site? No - thats a bug tracker. How to I get it to work? All I get is Loading wallabag API… The Check URL button does not appear to do anything. Everything says unchecked. Obviously there is a way to do this - but seems to be being kept a secret for some reason.
It works, but it is far too tedious to be useful. I use several computers and every time I want to capture an article, my browser plugin isn't setup. By the time I get my tokens generated and logged in I could have just read the article.
Yes, it works. Thank you for creating this. I had to figure out where to get the IDs from, too. But please, please, can you implement to only save the current selection? I would need nothing else in addition to that single feature.
ok, finally got this extension to work with my selfhosted wallabag installation. It seems to be documented nowhere, but you have to go to yoururl.com/developer/client/create to get a client id token. Regarding this extension: It saves the current website to wallabag. But I would love a list of recent wallabag items and also a counter of unread items on the extensions icon
