Unfortunately, as of 2026, this extension is no longer functional. As good as it seems, don't waste your time downloading it as clicking on the extension does absolutely nothing while on YouTube. No window, no error message, just... nothing. I thought it was just a bug at first (a minority of people may randomly encounter game-breaking bugs so I understand) but the extension simply... refuses to open? Not quite sure what's happening but, like I said, don't waste your time with this one.

Doesn't work for at all, you click the extension icon, nothing happens! SAD 😐, it looked like a really simple and useful extension, at least in the videos. but its dead now!

It opens up yinote management window in another tab upon clicking. The notes don't work, please advise.

I mean, it kicks me from youtube to the website...so I can't even bookmark anything. Also the how to use section explains nothing on how to actually use the app. Simple fix that has been stated already....I'm a programmer, I could understand issues like the app kicking me on youtube because that's more of an issue you need to solve. But not providing instructions is ridiculous. I already deleted the extension, after 3 minutes. I assumed I was just not understanding how it worked which is frustrating. Even more frustrating to find out that it just wasn't working properly. But I might have kept it and given it more time after notifying you of this had I known it wasn't a user issue.

This extension is useless for anything other than taking notes during videos. It wouldn't have been difficult to simply add a timer mode and allow you to take notes for a ton more applications. As it stands, this extension is niche and useless for anyone who wants something with flexibility and functionality in multiple areas. Feels lazy, don't use it.

I liked the really clean UI and how intuitive it is. Defiantly cleaner than a lot of the other popular chrome extensions for taking notes on YouTube . But a deal breaker for me was that I was not able to close the tab on the side with out unpinning the entire extension.

It's a good app but still hard to use. There are many issues on github. Please have a look and give us a feedback for the problems.

Would be good but has to simple things that make it literally useless to me. One the option to export to markdown creates .md file but this file actually has everything commented out so if I want to use it I need to manually uncomment everything. Second, Why the heck is there no option to copy markdown to clipboard? I wanna use this to take video notes and move them into a sperate notetaking app. Needing to save it to a separate file, open that file, select all, copy, and then paste into my notetaking app is a massive hassle. Plus as mentioned above I need to remove the comments. Also an option to copy markdown to clipboard should also be available on the actual youtube video page without needing to go to a new tab

I cannot open it. it takes me to the setting page when i click on it . what should i do?

Would love to give this 5 stars but it is lacking is several areas. 1. Developer did not put much effort at all into instructions. As most of this is pretty self explanatory, when seeking help in some places, I find only some animated gif screen recording of the mouse moving around and clicking without really giving instruction as to what is going on. It's as if the developer went "Okay it's done... now for the instructions... ah screw it... I'll take some screenshots and get pushed out to the unsuspecting public by 9pm. Who cares?" 2. Seems to have a limit for storage with no way to export or save data in order to continue. So once used to a point, it becomes useless after that unless you delete your work thus far. 3. Missing a category setup. Once so much is saved, it's hard to keep track of what bookmarks are in conjunction with what topics you are taking notes about. 4. The transcript feature does nothing. Just shows a spinning loading icon. I assumed it just takes a while to load so started it, ate dinner, came back and still spinning. No idea what it even does really due to very poor gif instructions that literally tell you nothing. 5. By the time you have taken a note about something in a video, the note is pretty much after the part you were taking a note about. So keep having to backtrack on every note in order to make sure the timestamp is in the right place. Makes taking notes EXTREMELY slow and monotonous. There should be a button to timestamp the note before even finishing the note so you can mark the part of the video that is actually talking about that note's topic.. I could think of many more but the fact is... this extension seemed to be a god-sent at first and exactly what I was looking for... until after using it and then discovering that it really is just making things more complicated. It needs a ton of work and ESPECIALLY some kind of method to extend memory, export, or save it at the very least. Otherwise it just becomes more worthless the more you use it. It's like buying a bottle of pills that make you skinny but once you have taken the last pill, all the fat instantly reappears and then some. All of your effort and work is just thrown out the window and the pill bottle says "well, wasn't that fun? Sorry it can't last!"

I love the concept, but unfortunately it's not working for me. When I try and create a note I always get the message : "Please take note after video started or ads finished." even after the video has been started.

I just added notes for the first time and it went well, but where is the Share button? In the video it is there, but YiNote currently doesn't seem to have the sharing option?

it was actually a great extension, but the important sections like Notes are not available on Netflix!

I can't export my notes to Evernote. It said "Failed to export notes to EverNote" in red. Please help or fix.

This is a great extension but it needs cloud support so that the same notes with open on different computers no matter where you are at. I think this is key to making this a highly popular download. When can we expect cloud support???

Great app, only miss store and sync options.

When is accessed in other computer, the shared notes not work (empty notes), please fix this issue! But, after all it's amazing extension.
